Nativity- card kit

I was able to create a couple more cards- and they will be the first for my 2022 Christmas card stash : )  I rec'd these foiled images from Lori at SCS (Mybugandi45).

This DP was in the kit, as well as the gold embossed Peace on Earth sentiment.  Lori sent this kit with a number of foiled nativities. I added gold sparkle cardstock behind the star paper.

This red striped card is vellum.  It is layered over a patterned DP that was also in the kit Lori sent to me.  The sparkly joy sentiment is a Lawn Fawn diecut.  I did not have a red to use, so sprayed Dylusions onto white cardstock, then some shimmer spray- once it dried, I diecut it.

Holiday Cardmaking

I sure hope everyone had a Blessed Christmas!!!  I made this slimline Nativity- one of my favorite cards this year!

I used Blue Distress Oxide inks and SSS Nativity set for the images.

For this card- the challenge was to use Holly or Christmas greenery. I reached into my bag of diecuts and pulled out a few for this challenge.  The red circle is a spellbinders, the other dies were rec'd in a card either from a Teapotter or a 'Alpha' friend.  I just love that candle!  I added gold metallic paper behind the flames.  The background is an Alcohol inks on Yupo paper card.

I made this card for the Sketch challenge at SCS.  I used DIstress inks on the background and splattered water and black soot ink.  The reindeer by CC designs was watercolored using Distress inks. The background needed something, so I added sentiments to make the background a little more textures.

Silent Night

Over at Jan's Digital Stamps, we are having a Mid-month post for our Monthly challenge.  The challenge is always AG- come join us!

I used a stamp set called Silent Night for my cards.

For this card, I had to give a try to the new technique making a shaker card. The base cardstock was embossed using a SSS 3D EF, then it was encased in a clear envelope and sequins and clear beads added under it before it was sealed. The images are added to the outside of the acrylic envelope.  The diecut is also from SSS.

Jans challenges are always AG- come join us!!!

Virtual Stamp Night

I made a couple of cards tonight for the VSN challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.

I had this image printed and it was trimmer in the Scan and Cut a while back.  It has been patiently waiting for me to create for...a while.  I colored it and added it to a woodgrain DP.  I had a piece of this music tissue paper sitting on my desk, so added it to the background.
My Mom was quite a gardener (and both of my sisters as well), but I did not get that green thumb!  Mom used to always include a bird in every wreath she created.  I HAD to get this Christmas Wreath at Power Poppy when I saw it, and really enjoyed coloring it.  The sentiment is from Jans Digital images.

The 2nd challenge for VSN I completed was a black and white card. I have had this image stamped for a few years as well....  finally got it on a card!  It is by CTMH and the image and diecut are from Picket Fence Studios. The DP is by Gina K Designs.

Are you ready for Christmas???

CAS Holiday

I try to do CAS on occasion...and it is a challenge to me!

I decided to fine this a try- the challenge was for a tree to be on the card.  So, I inked up the trees from the MFT Stamptember set. I had this burlap deer on my desk, and the sentiment is SSS. I inked on some blue ink for snow drifts and in the sky as well.  I wanted to add more....LOL  But, alas, I stopped and here is my card!

Oh Deer.....!

I had this gorgeous image by Graciellie Designs is sitting on my desk when I saw the Teapot Tuesday Challenge at SCS and the color challenge as well.

The Teapot challenge was for sending smiles and an envelope on your card..... Ok, I may have stretched this one, but the recipient is a young man, so I figured the smile on the face of the deer would pass.....  The colors are used correctly, and the pink is around the deer head.....  I like how the colors were used!

I hope you are having a fabulous week! Christmas will be here before we know it!!!

Color challenge cards

I made a couple of cards for the color challenge at Splitcoaststampers (SCS). Both using Copics for coloring.

I used images from Angie Blom Digital shop.  I so love her style!  I used Copics to color both images.

The color challenge is Soft Sea Foam, Misty Moonlight, Fresh Freesia and Just Jade. You can use neutrals and then the dessert is AG (Anything Goes).
I used G20 for Soft Sea Foam, Misty Moonlight B97, Fresh Freesia V01 and Just Jade YG45 plus BG72. (I did not have BG72, so used BG70 tip to tip with BG75).

Challenges TBA

SCS color challenge- Bright Holiday

I am Guest DT for the color challenge this month at Splitcoaststampers.  Mary is our hostess this week.

I do not have these cardstock colors, so used Kim Singdahlsen conversion chart, and used Copics Real Red=R29, Garden Green YG67 and Mango Melody Y38. Our 'dessert' is DP, so I colored a touch of each marker and tried to match it to DP. I used neutrals E43/44 Crumb Cake and N2 Smoky Slate. I added Nuvo shimmer pen to the star and the ornaments and added glossy accents to the star. I added shimmer pen to the die cut edge and around the edge of the sentiment.
The sweet image is MFT, My Favorite Things.

Falliday fun

Back from a weekend trip to Texas for a wedding and I decided it was a great day to make cards and catch up with my Zoom friends!  I looked at the list of Falliday challenges and got to work!

This is a mini-slimline card.  6.5" x 3.5" and the challenge is to make a pumpkin not orange.....  I used some retired SU DSP and used a tree punch to add a tree line to the background.  Then, I colored the images in using Copic markers in coordinating colors. The images are from CC Designs.

The next challenge asked for a squirrel, and I was happy to break out this Kitchen Sink Stamps squirrel set and make a card for my husband, who is squirrel obsessed. He names them and enjoys watching them out of the kitchen window : )  The squirrels like to try to raid the bird feeders, which I am not the biggest fan of....oh well....  The simple pleasures!

The next challenge was combined, Frosty the Snowman and Alpha B-Birds.  The original image- I wrecked by bleeding red Copic...., so I trimmed the birds off of that image and added them to the bottom of this image.  A quick fix and I am OK with it.  The die cut is a Simon Says Stamps snowflake. The snowman is by Bugaboo digital stamps, now out of business.

Winter Wonderland

I have two posts for today, if you are looking for the Classy Card Ladies post, Click HERE

Hi stamping friends!  I had fun and created a card using a classic winter scene for the mid-month challenge post for Jan's Digital Stamps

I used the precolored trees from Tree Scene. The silhouette sleigh ride image and sentiment are from the set Sleigh Ride

I am hoping you can see the shimmer from the Wink of Stella. The clouds were done using Soft Sky ink and a stencil by Recollections. I also sponged on some Soft Sky ink (SU) on the lower section of the card. A touch of shimmer was added to the boarder and all done!

We'd love to have you join us at Jan's Digital Stamps Blog for the November challenge!

Honey, I'm home!

Hello!  We are back home after a week of hubby's baseball and warmer weather : )  I was able to get a little ink onto paper, and Distress ink blending.  Here is what I created:

For the Featured Stamper challenge today, I made a Winter version of Emma's Halloween card.

The stamps are Stampers Anonymous and this was a Stamptember (2021) stamp set.  I just love this!  Distress ink blending and splatters added (water, ink and Wink of Stella).  Copic markers were used for coloring. There is a stencil for the moon included in the stamp set- I love this!

And, for Falliday, I made a set of tags. This is a sweet SU set- which I love : )

My curious kids always have to try to see what's inside their presents before Christmas... as I did when I was younger.  So, I number them instead of putting To: and From: labels on them.  I used Distress ink blending on these tags and splatters and wink of Stella and ink splatters as well.

Jan's Digital Stamps November

After a nice break, Jan's Digital Stamps challenges are back!  While we were on break, Jan did continue to release new images- check out her store for all of the New Releases.

This set is called Baby it's Cold Outside.  The digi set comes with precolored and uncolored/black and white images plus sentiment.  For this card, the precolored image were used.
The swirly background is a 3D embossing folder, I swiped white pigment ink over the raised portions of the EF.  The ink on the BG is Marina Mist (SU).  I did not add much color to the lower section of the panel.  The ice pond and the fences are dies (CC Designs) and the trees are punched out.  The clouds are also dies (SU).

I hope to see you join in the challenge over at Jan's Challenge Blog

Stamping out of a carry on : )

We took a week away to spend with my son, DIL and grandson this past week in Colorado.  I did bring a carry on bag with some craft supplies to create while the baby is taking his afternoon nap.

I finally inked up my Stamptember Kitchen Sink Stamp set. I used 2 challenges at SCS, one the Teapotter challenge- we are sending cards to a beautician/hairdresser in Ca., that has breast cancer. We were asked to use scissors on our cards.  So, I stamped this image, then fussy cut out the flower/butterfly and popped it up on dimensionals.  I added the leaves below that. I added splatter using a Copic marker, by flicking the sketch point against the lid. The images were stamped using Distress inks. The sentiment was stamped using Gina K Amalgam black ink.

I have a Pretty Pink Posh stencil in my bag and used Distress inks to ink it up, the pumpkin stems are colored using Copics. I had a couple of embossed pieces, this one is leaves by SU, and it works great, and I added this ribbon and twine.  This sentiment is by Create with TLC digi images. The mulberry flowers and the enamel dots were also in the bag in a baggie of embellishments to use up from past kits.  Perfect!

And, inside:

Darlene sent us these funny sentiments and we were free to use our own image to go along with them.

Stamps: Neat and Tangled, and I added EK success hydrant, Unity boy with pup
All stamped in Memento Tuxedo
DP: Lawn Fawn's Really Rainbow pack
The kit also contained enamel dots, ribbons and mulberry paper flowers.

I colored the images using Copics.

There were more sentiments and I have plenty to complete another card later : )

Great dual Darlene and LJ!

Exploding card : )

You know I like to join in the Splitcoaststampers challenges, and really love the Teapot Tuesday challenges where we send cards to cheer others up.  Today, the challenge is for a young lady who was in a horrific accident and she is asking for Halloween cards.

I made an exploding card- for the Alpha challenge (also at SCS) and combined that with a Halloween card for our teapot recipient- just 31 and needs to learn to walk again after an auto accident car vs semi....2 fractured femurs, one lower left Tib/fib fracture, shattered ankle, torn spleen and rib fractures....bad bad accident!  She is now in a nursing home for rehab....  more surgeries in the future.....
This sweet witch and the cauldron are from CC Designs.  The bats are fussy cut from DP. The moon is a punched circle and colored with Copics. The DP is DCWV and KC & Co.  The backdrop is a Halloween embossing folder. When this card is 'closed' it is 6" x 6"

Alpha w= Watercoloring

I am trying to keep up with the Alpha challenges on SCS (Splitcoaststampers) - and W=watercoloring is the theme this week.

Most of my watercolors are Daniel Smith, but I do have some QOR and other brands mixed in.  I used a Unity Stamp on watercolor paper for this card. I added Glossy Accents over the beads on the purse and the back of the chair where it says Antiques. The sentiment strip is TH and inside is another Unity image that is a Birthday sentiment.

This image is from a swap on SCS, and I watercolored it and used the colors from SCS for my inspiration.  Some of the colors- I used Distress inks for...like the sky- Bermuda Bay = Peacock Feathers Distress ink. The neutral -Mossy Meadows was added in using a Distress ink as well.  The sentiment is a MFT die. (It actually says Hello Beautiful ). The prompt for this card was for the Teapot Tuesday challenge last week.

World Stamping Day!

I was able to craft today- and I loved it! I do not usually stamp on Saturdays.

This card was inspired by the Inspiration challenge at Splitcoast.  I love this DP by Paper Studio and used it to create- added images from SImon Says Stamps to complete the card.

I had a card kit sitting on my desk from the Christmas Crazy challenge on SCS, and this is from Pam (Pammers) . The image is from CC Designs.  I Colored it using Copic markers. I die cut the DP and added the fussy cut images.  I colored the image with Copics and added Stickles. The embellishments were in the kit as well.  I used twine and the die cut Holly and red brads. I added Stickles over that.

Two more Christmas cards completed!

CYS: S=Santa

I am late, but got my card done for the September Challenge your Stash group. (aka CYS).

Jeanette is the hostess this month, and she chose "S" as our challenge.  So, a sort out of my craft space lead me to pull out this stamp- it is one in a set of 4...and has never been used- brand new and has an Archivers tag on it- and Archivers has been closed for 7 or 8 years now....  Ohhh my!  Glad to ink it up and create a card for Christmas- which will be here before we know it!

I blended Distress Oxide ink on the cardstock, ran it through a 3D EF, added Wink of Stella and white paint splatters. Next, embossed the kraft cardstock and used it as a mat for Santa. I added some Copic coloring for highlights on the image and finished off with snowflake gems and rhinestones.

Dreams!

I wanted to make a card for the Featured Stamper at Splitcoast, so went to work to create.  I happened to spill a full large cup of tea that was on my paper cutter, and in cleaning it up, found a couple of card kits I did not know I had........  One from Deb- aka SCS littledeb- the Featured Stamper!

The image was colored using Copic markers.  I fussy cut around the leaves of the sunflowers and used a die cut simply to draw a arched/circle top and fussy cut that out as well.  Everything on this card was in the kit little Deb sent to me except the Hero Arts sentiment.

I would like to enter this card into the House Mouse and Friends Fall themed challenge.

Going Postal

I decided to do the Clean and Simple (CAS) challenge at Splitcoast, the theme Going Postal.  My friend Sharon (Smadson) sent me a House Mouse image I was admiring (and do not have) and it is perfect for this challenge!

I love these little House Mouse images- so sweet.  I Colored using Copics and diecut using a postage stamp diecut.  I added a touch of Rose Red cardstock for a pop of color. The Hello sentiment is by Hero Arts.

Have a great day!  I have been having trouble seeing pictures on most blogs, including mine....I googled it last night, and found a solution, and it did not help, so I got my husband involved....  He worked his magic and Viola! I can now see pictures.  Fingers crossed it stays this way!

Water stenciling

Yes, water stenciling is the Technique Lovers Challenge at Splitcoast this week.  There is a technique video to help you see how it is done....easy and cool effects!

This card uses a stencil over Distress Oxide inks and then water is spritzed on and a paper towel over the open areas after a few minutes......  I stamped and fussy cut the MFT images and used Copics to color them.  A few dots and dashes using a white gel pen.....A Recollections cloud stencil was used for the sky.  Always happy to ink up stamps that I have not used before.  I will give this to my hubby!

This is the other side of the stencil, spritzed with water....  and a paper towel over it....  I looked up the Teapot Tiesday post- we make cards for people having health challenges or something in their life where they need a boost.  I so love this challenge.  This is for a woman who broke her Tibia/Fibula and is on crutches...she also teaches math, so we were challenged to have a number on the card.  The image has numbers on it, so perfect!  I left the lighthouse uncolored, I like it this way.  I made a walkway out of grey cardstock, scored it and highlighted it with a Copic marker.  I added dots with a white gel pen.  The sentiment is Unity- and it is a new adventure using crutches- my hubby broke his fibula playing baseball a couple of years ago.....!  Inside sentiment (Unity)  says- Hope you feel better a little more each day. The Lighthouse is fussy cut- and is from Divinity Designs.

Jan's DIgital Images- HIS presence

If you are looking for the Crafty Card Ladies post, please click HERE

The challenges at Jan's begin back in November!  In the meantime, Jan continues to create and I just had to create using this set- you will see more cards using this beautiful digi made by me!!!

This set is names Silent Night. I absolutely love this set : )  The image is pre-colored.  I made a mask for the image and used Distress inks and post it notes to make the stream of light on baby Jesus, and then used posts it to mask off to add the sky and the ground.
I used a translucent medium painted down the rays of light to baby Jesus and added shimmer with a WInk of Stella pen.  for the sky, I added blues, then spritzed on water, added white pain splatter, then Wink of Stella splatter.  I added Stickles to the sky for shimmer.
The cardstock behind the main panel is a white shimmer cardstock.  The back panel is Navy Blue card. The star is cut from a silver adhesive shimmer cardstock and added in 2 layers.

Stop by the blog over at Jan's Digital Stamps for other cards using her new and older sets. Many are fall themed, but I wanted to use this beautiful new set!

Classy Card Ladies- Pumpkins

We had fun creating with a card kit from Tracie (pearls) and Barb sent kits to her team (diamonds) with the theme of pumpkins.

The image is from Newton's Nook, and I colored it using Copic markers. The pumpkins are Memory Box. I added a small line of shimmery Washi at the base of this card in copper/almost pumpkin.

I pulled out another die from the market in the Netherlands- I had enough ribbon in the kit to weave it through and make a small ribbon embellishment too. The image was fussy cut, colored using Copics and added to the die cut.  The DP Tracie sent is by Prima.

Fabulous and fun kit Tracie!

Which card is your favorite?  My husband likes one and I like the other : )  LOL

Happy Birthday- Shake it!

I pulled out a card kit today and had a fun time creating a card for a Birthday!  Thanks Maggie (mschoener @ SCS).

In the kit Maggie sent, there was a die cut of this fun balloon scene.  I decided to make it into a shaker card. I decided to back it with the DSP Maggie included with the kit. I added acetate and sequins and stickles : )  I used crystal effects and a couple of sequins attached to the acetate sheet, the rest are in there for shaking it up. The balloons were covered with Distress Stickles in blue and a touch of silver stickles added for accent.
The sentiment is from Sunny Studios.

It's Beginning to get close to Christmas........

I worked on Christmas cards today using the theme (from a SCS challenge) It's Beginning to Feel alot like Christmas...!

This image and sentiment are from Angie Blom Digital images.  (I so love her work- and if you go look at her site, remember prices are in Canadian, not US).  This was fast and I love it!  I also was creating for the Alpha challenge S=Scoring, so I scored the top of the card, the side edges and all of the snowbanks are 'raised' using a score tool, then glittered. The image is colored using Copics. I used a touch of blue Distress in for the sky. The snowflake diecuts are by Gina Marie.

LOL, OK, so I went a bit heavy handed with the glitter : )  I first scored the lower portion of the card to look like a rooftop...used Distress Inks over the shingles. I added Distress inks to the sky- Shaded Lilac, Faded Jeans, then Prize Ribbon.  I added Stickles, Nuvo Glimmer paste and white paint next.  It was too little, not balanced, then overdone....Oh well....  I believe, so hope Santa will bring me something good (craft supplies possibly???) hehe  The sentiment is a portion of a Unity stamp......

Alpha Q=Quilt

I am trying to catch up on the Alpha challenge- a few weeks behind....  I found some Paper Studio DP on sale at Hobby Lobby, and thought it would work great as a quilt card.

I cut strips of 3/4" DP, and glued them down side by side, then cut the strips side to side and then arranged the strips in diagonal fashion. I used a sentiment from The Project bin and stamped it in Chocolate Chip to coordinate with the Chocolate Chip cardstock.

Peace

I made a card for this weeks Featured Stamper over at Splitcoaststampers, a fellow Alpha challenge friend, Shirl.  I found a Christmas card to CASE, and got a two-fer : )

I had the opportunity to stop a a REAL stamp store in the past month, and saw these Memory Box dies and HAD to have them!  The scroll is a separate die, as is the peace sentiment and the background pricking die is a separate die as well. I will make a few more of these- I love this in blues, but will try a few different colors for fun.  What color can you see this done in???
Light blue linen cardstock, Blue-JFF, White shimmer cardstock.

In Memory

It has been 20 years since Princess Diana died- wow- I remember where I was when I found out- I was at work in the Intensive Care Unit and there was a TV on...  I was so in shock- it was late in my shift...I went home and put on the TV and watched it half of the night!

IN memory of Princess Diana- it's a theme for the Teapot Tuesday challenge at Splitcoaststampers....  we send cards to other Teapot ladies....  I made my card using a digi stamp from AngieBlom digi stamps....  it is colored just in the greens and yellows, then I overlayed vellum which had an alcohol ink technique in it.  I scribbled Copic markers B21, B24, B26, B28 and dabbed on 91% rubbing alcohol,  I spattered alcohol on after the first round dried, then added splatters of WInk of Stella.  Next, I splattered on Copic/Alcohol inks on the top. I added a rose from IBFS (I Brake for Stamps) in yellow, as that was Princess Diana's favorite rose.  The die cut was from a market in the Netherlands I bought a couple of years ago, and I added yellow Offray ribbon thru it.  The die cut sentiment ( Michael's) was added in white over the blue card. A couple of sequins and the card is ready to mail off to a Teapot lady : )

Colorful Life

A rainbow background created with Distress Oxide ink blending:

I saw Jennifer McGuire demo this on her blog a while back and have just gotten around to trying it.  I used just a red/yellow/blue Distress Oxide ink, and where you blend the colors, the orange and green pop out.  How cool is that!
The sweet Nymph is dressed in purple, as that is the last of the rainbow colors. Her wings are a very light purple with a hint of green, and alot of sparkle via Wink of Stella.  The image by CC Designs was sitting on my desk all cut out already (Scan n Cut) and I just colored it in.
Have a safe and colorful weekend (no rain clouds in the mix though!).
