Dare to Get Dirty at Splitcoast Stampers

I have been busy making cards for the DTGD challenges over at Splitcoast.  You have to be a Fan Club member to see and join in the challenges.

For the first day, there were 6 challenges.

This image and sentiment are from Jan's Digital Images.  I used Distress inks on the background and Copics to color the chairs.

This sweet image is by ALl Dressed Up and the sentiment is SSS.

I went vintage with this image by Magenta.  I colored it using Copic markers. How do you like that big bow???

This slimline card uses images from Recollections and Jennifer from SCS sent it to me in a swap that is for Christmas images. I used MFT snow drift dies and the last of my Iridescent Ice EP.

This image is from Taylored Expressions and is colored using Copic markers.

I had a bit of fun water coloring these flowers from Unity Stamps. Water coloring is one of my favorite ways to color in embossed flowers.

Day one was Saturday, and I have been making cards like crazy.  I will be back to show you more soon!

Jan's Digital Stamps-Midmonth

The August challenge at Jan's Digital images is at the Midmonth point. As you know, the challenges last for a month and the theme is always Anything Goes. I hope you will join us!

This set is called Friendship Flowers. It comes pre-colored and Black and white- and I had to print one of each and try to do the image justice!

The first card uses the pre-colored digital image from Jan's.  The 2nd card, I used the black/white version, but used Jan's coloring to inspire me.

DDD is 10!!!

We are having a Big Birthday/Anniversary party this month for the Dueling Darlings- 10 years!!! Wahoo!!!

Kelly sent all of the Divas and Dazzlers a kit for this month- image from The Cat's Pajamas. The image was colored using Copic markers. The cake is a German Chocolate cake, my hubby's favorite : )

I used Sweet Sketch Wednesday 189 for this card.

I also received a ticket for a chance to Win a prize!  Oh, and I was a Diva for this challenge as well!

The Dueling Darlings is a group over on Splitcoast Stampers.  I have been a member for the past 4 years, and the group has been going strong for 4 years now.

MIxed Media ATC

A group of ladies at SCS are doing Mixed Media challenges, and this month it is about playing cards and napkins : )

Can you see the card peeking through?  (7 of clubs).  The napkn was applied using glossy gel medium.  It did not dry well and left the surface sticky, so I added clear EP over the top.  I added little die cuts for the scene and some German scrap. The butterfly dies are Memory Box.

Alpha challenge=TY

The Alpha challenge at Splitcoaststampers for this week is TY.

I combined the Alpha challenge with the Color challenge at SCS.  I do not have all of the SU colors, so I used Distress inks Wild Honey and Faded Jeans Distress Oxide inks. When they overlapped, a Green showed through.  The image is SU and I stamped one on the background and one is fussy cut and added over the top.  I used Versamark and added Iridescent Ice EP over the image.
The ribbon is shimmery and I added twine over it. The edge punch is from a MS edge punch.

I loved using an older stamp set and using it in a more up to date way!

Alpha S card = Sunshine

For the Alpha Challenge at Splitcoaststampers, this week we are on 'S'. I used Sunshine for my 'S'

I used Copics and Distress Inks for the background, and the waves in the water are Sakura White Gelly Roll pen. I printed this on cardstock and then printer paper, and used the fussy cut printer paper as the mask.
I used to sing, "You are My Sunshine" to my kids at bedtime every night, and they are all grown up now....!

COF- Hello Beautiful!

For the Crafters of Faith post this month, Liz is our Hostess. Here is our challenge:

Scripture- Isaiah 60:19 - The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.

Challenge on this sunny, summery month, use a radial pattern on your card, whether sun rays, radial stenciled lines, or scraps cut and arranged in a radial design. Have fun and be creative!

This is a digital image by Angie Blom, and I used a stencil from Gina K designs. I used Copic markers on this card for all of the coloring. The sentiment is included with the image.

Watercoloring a White Daisy

Watercoloring is one of my favorite ways to color, I do not do it often enough!

The Watercolor challenge at SCS today is to paint a white daisy.  There are no white watercolors...so, they challenge included a video, and I followed it and made this card. (You can stamp and image too, but I thought I'd at least try this daisy).
A few months ago, I bought some Karin markers and finally got them out of the box. They are too new and I have to play with them some more- too vibrant to paint with them right onto the watercolor paper, so scribbled them on the glass mat and used a waterbrush to watercolor.
Arches 140# Hot press watercolor paper was used, and I layered the panel on Concord Grape SU cardstock.

Silly animal card

The challenge over at Splitcoast for the Tuesday Teapot challenges was a silly animal card- bonus flowers or something purple.

The image is a digi by Angie Blom. The sentiment is computer generated and the purple is in the glasses.
The recipient for Tuesday Teapotters today went up on her roof to rescue her cat, and fell off and broke her shoulder. So, tongue in cheek- aren't cats a bit High Maintenance?
I used a stencil from Sweet Stamps and retired SU inks Creamy Carmel, Mustard and Rust. The image is colored using copics. I added shimmer using a Sakura Stardust gelly roll pen. The giraffes are surrounded by leaves cut from a Memory Box dies.

Hope you think it is silly too!

Jan's AG challenge- August

We celebrate AG for our challenge at Jan's each and every month.  This month, there is not a new release, so we are choosing any image from Jan's store to create with!

This sweet image is called Across the Miles. I just love this sweet set, and as usual, it comes precolored (which you see here), and it also comes black and white ready for you to color.  I printed out both and will be making another card using this set soon.

Jan's Digital shop has a special this month- buy two sets and get the third free.

This coupon was in Jan's newsletter- stop by the shop and sign up for the newsletter for future coupons like this one.

Alpha R=Roses

The Alpha Challenge this week at SCS is up to the letter R, easier then some....

I thought the Penny Black series of images would be fun for a Slimline card featuring Roses on Rose Red cardstock and adding ribbon to the card. The Retired DSP was made by SU.
The images were colored using Copic markers. I used a couple of items to cut out the images and circles- SU circle punch, Spellbinders circle and a Memory Box stitched circle die.
 The sentiment is SU.

I so wish growing Roses was this easy : )

Dueling Darlings turns 10!

The Dueling Darlings card group is 10! We are celebrating today and Kelly (miamikel4) and Jeanette (Forest Ranger) are hostessing a virtual party for us.

Kelly sent all of us a kit with the 3 pieces of felt and twine. If we imagine the banner put together, it creates a banner of celebration bound together in crafty friendship. We are to use the felt, twine optional and ONLY a sentiment stamp.
I wanted to make a sewn banner of little cupcakes, but had company this week (DD2 was home) and so went with a single cupcake and a sentiment by SU.

Let's eat cake!!!
