Color challenge and new stamps

I had a bit of time to create today, and made this card for the color challenge at Splitcoaststampers.

The colors for today are (SU) Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive, plus white.
I tapped the colors onto a glass craft mat and spritzed with water.  After dabbing into the cardstock, I dried the cardstock before doing the next color.  I stamped the images directly onto the card, and colored the image in- but there was too much green on the flowers.  SO, I restamped the flowers onto white cardstock and colored using Copics, then fussy cut out the flowers only.
I just ordered this set from COlorado Craft Company, and just love it.  You will see it more : )

Challenge Your Stash (CYS) September

Tracie C (taclary at Splitcoast) is our Sept Hostess for using our stash, and she challenged us to use leaves.  Any type of leaf or leaves.

This image is by Stamps Happen.  To my knowledge, I have never inked it up.....  I colored using COpics on the edges, the brown edging is a Distress marker.  The leaf is masked and Antique Linen distress ink applied, then the leaf colored with Copics. It dies not show well, but there is a layer of Ruby Red cardstock behine the main panel, then the white cardstock.

Thanks for a great challenge Tracie!

Fall is here!

I created with a card kit today from Emily, aka SkyNatcho at Splitcoast.  I wanted to make a Fall card, and the kit she sent to me contained a stamp set with a pretty fall stamp and coordinating DP.

The set did not have a company name, so I do not know where it is from.  I colored using Copic markers. The die I used is from CC Designs. The cardstock is Real Rust.
The Friday challenge is called Free for ALl- come check it out!

Games

Over at Splitcoaststampers, the prompt for Thursday Ways to Use it challenge was Games.  I dug through my stash and epherma, and put a card together.

The main image with the gent and the backgammon game board is by River City Rubber Works. The shrine and most of the triangles are Artistic Outpost.
Distress inks are blended on the background, there is some Modeling paste applied and rub-ons and stickers were used as well. There is a bit of Copic marker color added to the shrine panel.
In making this card, I discovered quite a stash of Rub-ons..... so I guess you may be seeing some of those in the future : )

Cute as a Pumpkin

Happy Fall!!!  Inspired by friends on a Zoom call, I created a card for the Sketch challenge at Splitcoaststampers today.

I thought the sketch looked hard, and when I just dove in, it was not that hard afterall!  The image is by Great Impressions, colored using Copic Markers. The flower is from a Simon Says Stamp diecut flower. I love this sweet image : )

Today was a fun day of creating, and I used a card kit from Tracie C who is in a kit swap group with me.

This card was made for a SCS watercolor challenge and watercolored using a technique called Negative Coloring.  I love this- I masked one of the flowers in the kit and stamped it multiple times to make this card.  The wood butterfly is embossed with an enamel EP.

The DP Tracie sent used a DP from MME.  I let this gorgeous DP take center stage and stamped an embellishment and added embellishments. I made this for the Teapot Tuesday challenge at SCS.

I stamped multiple images and cut them out using the Scan n Cut to cut a number of them out.  I colored the images using Copics.

I love the images and the beautiful DP Tracie sent.  I have plenty left to create more cards!

Fall leaves-2ways

Prompted by Splitcoast challenges, I have put together 2 leaf themed cards.

For todays Technique Lovers Challenge (TLC), we were challenged to create with  leaves- real leaves- and stamp and emboss them.  I inked them up with DOX ink and clear embossed them.  The sentiment is by Unity Stamps.

This challenge was a lesson in Negative painting.  I did not have too many overlapping images, so plan to create one myself to try this again.  This leaves stamp is by Technique Junkies. The sentiment is by Sunny Studios. I was inspired by the Alpha challenge (over at Splitcoast) and it was the wek of Y- I used Yellow cardstock, Yellow watercolor paint and Yellow enamel dots.  Yellow is not usually a color I reach for- but love it for fall color combo's. For watercoloring, I used Distress ink, SU markers spritzed with water and a couple of Arteza waterbrushes.

I hope you are staying well and sane with the ongoing stay at home orders.  I have a couple of family members affected by the virus, one is back at work and the other is still on quarentine, and doing OK.

Jan's Digital Stamps

Jan's Digital Stamps challenge is a month long, and is always Anything Goes! The DT posts a mid-month inspiration, and this is the image I chose.

This digital stamp set is called Honey and Boo  I adore this set- it is so sweet, isn't it?  The image is pre-colored. I added tree dies that a SCS friend sent to me- cut out in Old Olive and sponged in Artichoke ink.  Then, I added white gel pen for accents.
This was also used for a CASE of a card at SCS for the Featured Stamper challenge.  The card had mountains and red cardinals- I changed the layout to a fold card, and made the background green instead of blue, and for my reds- garland and bows instead of cardinals.

More DTGD

There were 41 challenges for DTGT- here are a few more of the cards (yes- 41 challenges means LOTS of cards!!!).

A slimline card using Distress inks and Impression Obsession leaf image.

This challenge was not for a card- I used a Gina Marie die for this.

A little Mixed Media with paper towel background (of course with Dies and inks on them). The ladies were in a book and were perfect for a Ky Derby party!  Hats were created by hand and netting was added.

A fun technique using inks and a EG.  The sentiment is by Sweet n Sassy.

This was a fun technique and I used black Glitter EP on the TH EF - and added a tag with Distress ink and bat images from Unity.

This little guy looking out the window is an image by SImon Hurley (from the caroling boys) and the sentiment is SSS.

There are a few more to go, but I will stop now : )

SCS-Teapot Tuesday and SCS Color Challenge

I had a few hours to create- and I used the Color challenge at SCS and the Teapot challenge as a prompt for creativity.

I had fun using the color challenge at SCS to create this card.  The colors were Pumpkin, Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green.
For the background, I used white cardstock from Hobby Lobby- 110#.  I had been trying to order 110# cardstock from Michaels- Recollections- and it was unavailable for weeks.  I bought this as a backup and loved giving it a try.
I dabbed the colors on a craft mat, spritzed with water and dipped the cardstock through it.  I dried between colors and liked the dimension.  The droplets were done using Cherry Cobbler ink.
The flowers were colored using Copics and watercoloring using the 2 SU colors.  I used a Neutral color- Night of Navy- to add some color to the background.
The image anbd sentiment are by Gina K Designs, and were from a card kit rec'd from Barbaralynn at Splitcoastctampers.

This image is by Unity and it was a digital image offered once Covid started. The sentiment is also by Unity. I used the same colors to watercolor this image- Pumpkin Pie,  Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green. I used Cherry Cobbler to spritz droplets on the background.

Creative Day

I had some time Saturday to create and I enjoyed every minute of it!  A few friends from the Alpha challenge were on Zoom, so I was not alone in my craft room : )
I went to SCS for challenges, and used those prompts for my cardmaking.

This week, the water color challenge #15 is to color die cuts.  I used quite a few on this card.  The Squirrel is by Gina Marie, the acorn and leaves are Cheery Lynn and the grass - I do not know.....  ALl were water colored using Distress inks and or SU inks.
I also used this card for my Alpha challenge for X and E .  Well, I have a MFT die (a tic-tac-toe board) and cut out the x's and used distress inks to add them to the background and used the E=enamel dots.
My husband is a bit squirrel obsessed.  He was raised on a farm- there are NO squirrels- so when he moved to the city, became quite intrigued with the little fella's  We have red/brown squirrels and gray squirrels in out backyard!
The sentiment is by Sunny Studio's

This card is for the watercolor #14 challenge. I used a combination of stamps for this challenge, first applying a ghost image then adding more ink over them.  I loved this challenge and was very happy with my results. I used Daniel Smith watercolors on Arches 140# Hot press paper.
Stamps by Hero Arts, Hampton Arts and the sentiment is by Unity.

And, finally, I made a card for the Free for all challenge using Cute Halloween cards. This set is by CC Designs and so reminds me of when my kids were younger!  I love this!  The images were cut out using the Scan n Cut and colored using Copics. I added a flourish my Alpha friend sent to me (Thanks Sharon) and added them over a die cut I made about a year ago and had in my stash.

We are back from a little trip to Michigan just to get a change of scenery.

One of the days we did a 25 mile bike ride through a State Park system- just us and wildlife : )  It was fabulous- although, a bit chilly! Now, back to reality!

More Dare to Get Dirty- part 5

Over at Splitcoaststampers, the Dare to Get Dirty is officially over, but the cards I made are not blogged yet, so slowly but surely I am posting them here!  As a member of the fan club, you can see the challenges, and I love being a member of the fan club and doing this challenge each year!

I love this card- it is a watercolor using a Power Poppy image and a Hero Arts sentiment.

I made this fun card using a card kit from Terry S., and used a MFT frame around the image. The image is by Taylored Expressions.  I colored using COpic markers and added flowers and enamel sots that were in the kit.

The background was made using Distress Oxide Inks and The images are Unity Stamps.

This stamp set is from my Moms stash and I stamped many of the flowers on the backing, and 3 restamped and used dies to cut out.  not sure who makes the stamps.

More fun playing with Distress inks on this background, the image  by Impression Obsession was embossed using Black EP, and the distress inks over that.  The sentiment is Unity.

This is a wreath die from Memory Box, and I cut out the flowers using fall colors. The background is a die by CC Designs. The Thankful die was a Michaels special- I think it is by Spellbinders.

I always enjoy the DTGD challenges and make cards to send to friends and a few Christmas cards as well!

Jan's Images-AG

Jan's Digital images is releasing three new sets this month- check it out HERE.  I love her images and have put together a card using "Harvest Scarecrow" (On SALE).

For the background, I repeatedly copied and pasted the sunflower to my blank Word document, and arranged them for a DO of my own ; )   The pumpkins are fussy cut for the boarder, and the Scarecrow was pre-colored.

Fun technique and my first time actually trying it, and sentiment by Concord and 9th.

This image is IBFS and I so love this funny image- I made this card while on a crafty Zoom session, and a friend suggested the sentiment, its by Great Impressions.

Mr Bluebird and Mr Goldfinch are chatting away here.  This set- had to have it- I love birds- and it's the first time I inked it up!  The stencil came with the stamps too.

Dare to Get Dirty- part 3

I had fun following challenges and creating.  My husband did not fully embrace the coupon for no cleaning or cooking : )   I did come up with easy meals or crock pot dinners, but it was not like our 'normal' . I must add, he did NOT complain at all.

This is a Unity image and sentiment, embossed with a metallic EP.

Another image from Unity, and paper piecing done for the coat and the mask. Too funny! A stamp that had not seen ink before.

Another Unity image- this one has never seen ink before.

This bat is by Unity and the face/head is a Vera Wang digi. The background is a Stencil.

The mushroom in the background is by Unity, and the gnome is Simon Says Stamp. I added a sentiment by Hero Arts.

Almost 1/2 way to the 41 challenges- you have seen 17 in this and the prior two blog posts : )
