Bugaboo challenge- inspiration picture

The Bugaboo challenge- Catch the Bug- this week is using an inspirational picture.

I used the Bugaboo Floral Block 2 image for my card. I used the colors for my inspiration.

While out of town, I have been using my Distress inks for watercoloring. I made a Distress Ink background to coordinate. The sentiment is Hero Arts.

I like watercoloring and using the ink cubes so much, I ordered more of them so I could take them on my next trip! I also added a touch of Sakura Stardust Gely Roll pen for sparkle. A touch of twine and enamel dots

CYS- Yellow and sunshine

Our CYS (aka Challenge Your Stash) group (at Splitcoaststampers.com)  has a challenge of Yellow and Sunshine!

I have finally taken my Distress Ink Cubes out of their packaging (while I was on vacation), and I so love them!  I can ink a stamp with them, make backgrounds and watercolor with them- even mixing the colors if I do not have the correct color.  And, they are so easy to transport!
I stamped up a Llama stamp the floral image from the same set from Unity stamps using Black Memento Tuxedo. I added color using my ink blending tool on the llama and watercxolored using the distress inks for the flowers. I made the clouds freehand...the sun diecut was gifted to me, so I do not know where it is from.
The background was stamed in black with a third image from the same set in black.  Then, I sprinkled water over the background and dried with a paper towel.  The llama and flowers was latered on the top.
The sentiment is from the same set.

Challenges- TBA

Card Kit makes

I am in a 'card kit' group, where we are showered with card kits one month a year- we are able to request our 'wants' for our months- February.  I wanted Purple and Thinking of You or Sympathy cards.
These cards were made from a kit Carol sent to me.

I am out of town, so have a few supplies to use- Distress Ink cubes were used for watercoloring this card.  To get the purple, I played around with colors, and ended up mixing Chipped Sapphire and Seedless Preserves.  The greens are Peeled Paint and Pine Needles. The image is Lovely Lattice by SU. I am unsure of the sentiment. The white lace is layered over purple mulberry paper. The punched border was in my stash. The glitter dots are CTMH (from Terry's kit). The DP is Paper Pizazz.

More watercoloring with Distress inks- same colors as above, plus yellow-Fossilized Amber and a touch of Rusty Hinge. I also added a vague outline of Pumice Stone around the flower and leaves. The White enamel dots are echo Park. I am unsure of this image origins- if you know, please let me know too!
Carol included sone beautiful butterfly stickers that are 3-D by Jot.  So, I used dies she included- the center die is popped up and the butterfly placed on it. The hudrangea DP is also Paper Pizazz. The glimmery purple enamel dots are CTMH.

Bugaboo- Wednesday

For the Humor me Wednesday post at Bugaboo stamps, we post for Holidays- and mine is for Father's Day (USA 6/16 this year).

The image (HERE) is colored with Prismacolor pencils.  I added Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll pen to the heart and the hearts in the centers of the flowers. The Blue cardstock (SU) was embossed with a Sissix embossing folder. I tried to add a beard, but really did a bad job, so tried again -this is what he got! I think it is so sweet!
This is my son's first Father's Day and my Husband's first Grandfather's Day! Chris' shirt says Papa bear.

The babies onsie says baby bear

Bugaboo New Release

Bugaboo is releasing this new image and sentiment today!

I watercolored the image using Distress Inks. And, I messed up around the image aka the background....., so I cut another plain white cardstock piece for the background, watercolored it and then fussy cut the image.  I added enamel dots to the scallop diecut. The shirt has Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll pen added for shimmer.

I sure hope she catches a winner!

This kit is adorable!  Unfortunately, I am traveling and just have colored pencils, which I am not too proficient with.....I need some Gamsol to smooth it out the colors, that's at home.......

Foil Mingle

Over at the About Oriental Stamp Art Yahoo Group (AOSA), there was a mingle for making cards using foil. I joined in and here is the card I created:

I photographed the card at an angle to cut the glare and so you could see the purple shimmer on the dragonflies.
I began by cutting cardstock, rolling it through the Xyron and adhering it to the card.  I added alcohol inks over the foil.  Once dry, I added green Stazon over the embossed areas.  On the dragonflies, purple shimmer : )
The Panda is SU, and I sponged purple around the edges of the de cut piece, then added gold Nuvo drops in the corner and on the corner of the top of hte card. I layered the card on White cardstock.  I thought it needed one more thing, so chose to add purple twine at the top.

COF- Butterflies

I am a member in a group at Splitcoaststampers called Crafters of Faith.  (aka COF). Michelle is our hostess for June, and here is her challenge:

June 2019: Hostess Michelle (mybearybest)
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.Challenge: Keeping it simple with "feature butterflies on your project". I know how the summer months can be! And butterflies have always been a favorite of mine!

Here are my cards for the June Challenge

     And,

I watercolored the images on Canson Mixed Media paper. I used Arteza watercolor brush pens for the backgrounds and the butterflies. I added wink of Stella over the butterflies and on card 2 over the ribbon.
The images are Graciellie Designs and can also be found at Unity Stamps. I love the uplifting sentiments- these will go to my daughters, I will have to decide which one goes to which daughter......
I scribbled the waterbrush color on a blank stamp block and spritzed with water, then placed the Canson paper over the block.  I swiped the waterbrush over a bubble wrap piece and spritzed with water and that is the bubble like look on the backgrounds  On the 2nd card, I used a Unity stamp and added a 2nd stamped image in purple for the background.
Sequins and twine finished the first card.  The 2nd card, I used a Copic marker on white ribbon to match the card. (lovely Lilac SU and B53 on the ribbon). I added Wink of Stella over the top for shimmer.

What color combo is your favorite???

Close Knit Friends

June 8th is Worldwide Knit and Crochet in public day, and I found this fun image in the Bugaboo store-perfect for the occasion!

I so love this!   The image I used is called Close Knit Friends- found HERE was colored with Copic markers then cut out with a die. The area was smaller than the actual die, so I ran it through twice- and was able to get it to cut just right. I used SU DSP from the stash in greens.(looks better IRL- dreary day here makes for a little wonky color in the picture).  The shimmery enamel dots were the final accent.

Here Comes the Bride

For a friend of my daughter- who got married today : )

Oh how I love this sweet image from Graciellie Designs. She is a talented artist- and I love her style!  Her images are also available at Unity Stamps (This set is called Your Life is Your Story).
The card is 5.25" x 5.25".  I lightly water colored the image by scribbling a marker on a stamping block and spritzing it with water.  The greens are Pear and Old Olive (SU). I used So Saffron and Coral (SU as well) markers on the block for the flowers.  After round 1 dried, I used the Olive and Coral markers to add highlights, then lightly blended the colors in.  I added some Ranger Antique Linen ink from a marker to the block and did the edges of the book on the sides and the bottom. To finish up, I used Copics BG0000 around the flowers and book, and C2 at the edge of the sides and the base of the book.
The top layer of white (just above the silver metallic card) is a shimmery white card. I added Wink of Stella to the outer white later to balance that out. The Silver thin ribbon is SU.

I am imagining for this couple, the book is the Bible, so on the inside, I used a stamp I scored at the Gina K store last summer (and am just using it for the first time....).

I know they will love this!  Especially the bride.
