Technique Junkies-Blog Hop- CD11

The Technique Junkies Design Team is here to give you a sneak peak at the Technique Junkies CD-11.  Each year, a CD is produced and available for all of  the Techniques from the newsletter.  CD 11 is a compilation CD of all of the tutorials from the October 2012 through August 2013 issues- PLUS 10 bonus techniques (that are only found on the CD).  We are so excited to have you join us!

You should have arrived here from Beth Norman‘s blog.  Beth has the most keen eye cor color!   To start at the beginning of the hop, go to the Design Team Blog by clicking HERE.

On all of the TJ CD's, the tutorials are in PDF format, so they print perfectly on regular paper, for both PCs and Macs. With the bonus tutorials, there are 100 tutorials on this CD!  And, it is available for order TODAY by clicking  {HERE}. The CD will be shipped in less than 2 weeks!

***New on this CD***This CD contains a pictorial index ( that you can also print out) and each of the 100 tutorials on the CD are represented with pictures in the index. It has been designed to make it easier than ever to find a tutorial on the CD- you can see the index HERE

I made two cards using a Bonus technique on the CD called Glimmering Debossing.
I used the same image from Sweet Stamps on both of the cards- I just used different colors for the background. The picture captures a bit of the dimension, but not too much of the shimmer. I used the waste edge of the technique after the main image panel was cut out, and cut out dragonflies for both of the cards using a Cheery Lynn Die also from Sweet Stamps.

Here is the Blog Hop order:
Judy Jackson
Holly Brown
Tricia O’Bin
Nancy Dawson
Beth Norman
Shelly Schmidt         -You are HERE now
Hetty Sanders
Pat Huntoon

On all of the TJ CD's, the tutorials are in PDF format, so they print perfectly on regular paper, for both PCs and Macs. With the bonus tutorials, there are 100 tutorials on this CD!  And, it is available for order TODAY by clicking  {HERE}. The CD will be shipped in less than 2 weeks!

***New on this CD***This CD contains a pictorial index that you can print out -- each of the 100 tutorials on the CD are represented with pictures in the index. It has been designed to make it easier than ever to find a tutorial on the CD- you can see the index HERE

FCD Blog Hop- Sketch It!

My BLOG-Versary Giveaway post is HERE-ends 7/17

Thanks for joining me for the July Firecracker Designs by Pamela Blog Hop.  This month, we were challenged to this sketch:
FCD_sketch_021
I cannot sketch anything….but, at FCD we do have a DT member that can sketch and she has introduced a new line of Digital Stamps- HERE is a link to the new digi’s by Boni Boutelle. (Pamela has added a new search capability- search by artist).   One of the images-Ken- is available as a freebie HERE –grab him quick- there will be a new digi this weekend and he will be moved into the store!
OK, for my sketch card, I used Mr $$$ (Lord Money Man) as I can identify- with two kids in college, I sing the song about $$$ not growing on trees quite a bit!  LOL
ShellySchmidtJuly03FCDBlogHop
I colored the image with Copics E000 and E00, YG17 and SU markers for the hat. I used Wild Wasabi ink as an accent. For the layer behind the main image, I punched out tabs with the SU punch and cut them in 1/2, then layered them around the image. I decided for my accent piece to make a flower with the left over money background and the SU scallop punch. (I did not have any good DSP to use, so I Googled Money Background and printed one out to use).
ShellyFCDbloghopflower

ShellySchmidtMay09FCDBlogHop
Pamela always makes all of her images in her sets work together- so my card is from: A little Birdie told me and Scatter Joy.
I stamped the images and colored them with Copic markers.  The ‘bricks’ are SU markers Going Gray, Basic Gray and Black.  I used Ranger Distress inks Tattered Rose and Fired brick for distressing and flowers.  I used Copic markers R20 and R24 for the flowers and the flower embellishment.  The bird house is E31, E33, E34, E35.
The DSP is Porcelain by Basic Grey- my colors- Love this DSP!!! I distressed the edges of the background cardstock, and around the main image, used a TJ technique called Torn Frames.
The next stop on our Blog Hop is our May Guest Designer- the very talented Joanne Travis
The blog hop winner will be announced on Pamela's Blog Monday after 8PM.

Digital D'Illusions Blog Hop for Firecracker Designs by Pamela

Pamela has taken the leap and added Digital Images to her line of Stamps at Firecracker Designs.  We are celebrating by making the theme of our March Blog hop Digital images.....and, along the way there will be CANDY!!!  Pamela will be giving away 5 Digital Images to one lucky winner that leaves a comment on each blog. The "Official" start time for the Blog Hop is Friday at 8AM, so if you arrive here early,  there may be some links that are not working quite yet.........
What do you think?  This digital image is printed on vellum and embossed with Ranger Queen's Gold Embossing Powder....yummy!  You need to rub an embossing buddy (anti-static) over the vellum then run it through the printer- pour embossing powder over it right away. I use a fine paintbrush to brush off the stray EP....... You can use an erasable ink pen to touch up areas that 'miss' embossing powder-if there are any- just draw over the area you want to emboss and sprinkle EP over it- fix up the little oops......
The outside edge is sewn with Metallic Sulky thread- the vellum is overlaid on Pale Plum CS. The butterflies are painted with Creative Inspirations Paint- it is very shimmery, you can paint over the embossing and it will not stick- so I did not even have to rub it off. The next layer is Gold Metallic CS, then distressed edge Pale Plum and Plum. The ribbon is 5/8" Metallic Gold.
Here is a close up of the same image printed on Georgia Pacific White CS.  I colored the butterflies with Copic Markers and highlighted parts of the butterflies with Shimmerz (FCD carries this-here is the link ). I highlighted the flourishes with the Sakura Gel Pen. CS used- Barely Banana, Pale Plum and Perfect Plum .
This is a circular Blog Hop, so you can just keep going in a circle until you arrive back here.  If you leave a comment at each blog, you will be entered to WIN 5 Digital Images from FCD.  Here is THE LINK to the Digital images Pamela currently has in the store.   The next stop on the Blog hop is TESA
*Saturday Update- Pamela has a free digital image available if you want to give Dig's a try!  Please link back to her post with a sample of your card- we'd love to see what you do with it!  Here is the link
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Firecracker Designs by Pamela Blog Hop PLUS CANDY!!!!!

Hello and welcome to the Firecracker Designs by Pamela Blog Hop for November.  Our theme this month is Thanks- so I made some 3-D items to give to those that affect my life in a positive way- as a token of my Thanks for their presence in my life!
First, a little bit of information about the blog hop. This is a circular Blog hop- when you arrive back where you began the hop-you are all done.
Next, CANDY, yes, LOTS of CANDY is available on this Blog Tour- on each blog you visit, leave a comment and you have a chance to win CANDY (each blog will award one stamp set)!  And, it's the good kind that does not end up on your hips......  Pamela will also be have CANDY for an overall winner!  Thanks for your generosity Pamela!  Wahoo!
All you have to do to win is to leave a comment.  It's that simple! Oh- each Blog candy has a different candy to give as well.
Blog Candy will be awarded at 8PM on Monday November 23rd CST on my blog. (Remember we may be in different time zones).

Here is the set I am giving away!

These are my 'Thankgiving' items for Friends and people who are significant to me:

I have been having fun paper crafting this past week.  I originally had a different project in mind, but then came across this awesome Tag Box on a blog- with the dimensions.  I just had to give it a try.  I really liked it, so it became the new direction for my Blog Hop project.

Here it is open- I added the blue scallop out of a coordinating paper, and used Christmas Phrases 1 by FCD for the sentiment . I added some bling on the top of the Tag Box.  The tags are made with the Matchbox Die from SU and the Tag Punch by SU. The Tags inside are stamped with various FCD sets- on the Lt- gloves from Love Never Melts, the center- Christmas Phrases 1, and on the Rt, snowflakes from Love Never Melts and Let's Celebrate- all from FCD.

Next, I decided to make some Tag Boxes. They are made with base card stock cut 2 3/4 wide by 7 inches long.  The CS was scored 2 1/2 inches from each edge. I made side pieces that are 2 5/8 and tapered to fit the side- on the top 1 3/8" wide and the bottom 2 inches wide.  I used red line tape to attach the side and the tags to the front and back.  The tags measure 2 3/4 " wide by 4 5/8" long.  You can change any of the measurements to make your tag box it's own size.
Box on the Lt: Basic Grey Figgy Pudding,Scallop punch SU +acetate
Middle box- label from Matchbox Die by SU, sentiment Christmas Phrases 1 by FCD
Box on the Right-Nestability Labels 4 (3rd smallest), Sentiment Christmas Phrases 1 +acetate, scallop edge punch SU for Dp on top and bottom and bling.

Next, I decided to take a hinged box and make a gift box.  This is so quick and easy.  I embossed the snowflakes from Love Never Melts and Let's Celebrate with White EP and sponged on Soft Sky and Blue Bayou onto labels from Avery- the address label size. The labels are wrapped around Hershey nuggets.  The sentiment is from Christmas Phrases 1.
The CS wrapping the box (retired SU Baroque Burgandy)was cut to fit and punched with the scallop edge punch by SU.  The Basic Grey paper, again Figgy Pudding,  was added and the sentiment mounted on Soft Sky. White organdy ribbon added around the box like you would wrap ribbon around a gift box- hard to see in the picture.

Finally, I finished my stamping fun with tags made that fit into a box made out of a piece of DT.  The link for the box that fits ATC sized tags or ATC's was found here.

I had to add some techniques from the Technique Junkies Newsletter to my project.
The tag to the far left- ink Ranger- Trees from Just Breathe Again, Sentiment-Christmas Phrases 1 and technique Simple Green
The 2nd to the Lt tag (blue) is made with the Faux Sanding Technique. The snowflakes (FCD as above) are embossed with White EP, and the image colored with SU markers and Angel Wings Shimmerz (from FCD). Can you see the little mouse on the tag too? Sentiment  and snowman from Snow Shepherd from FCD.
Tag #3 The ornaments from Christmas Phrases 1 stamped in Black Memento Tuxedo Ink and colored with Su markers.  Each ornament covered with Crystal effects. Tag top punched with the SU scallop edge punch and outlined with Faux Stitching Technique (TJ). The faus stitching and the strings the ornaments are on are done with a Sakura jelly Roll Pen.
Finally, the last tag is DSP on the top, the SU Poinsettia embossing folder from SU- the flowers were individually cut out and painted with Shimmerz after centers colored with Baroque Burg (SU). The Tag is outlined with a Gold Leafing pen and the sentiment from Christmas Phrases 1 is embossed with Gold EP.

Whew- are you exhausted from reading all of that?  Thanks for hanging in there!

The next stop on the blog hop is Tesa

Please don't forget to leave an e-mail address so I can contact you if you win the Blog candy. Good Luck!
And, I will be posting another card at the end of this blog hop (Monday night)  with another blog candy- please stop back to check it out!

Thanks for stopping by!
