Mornings...Start too Early!

I am last minute again doing the Gerda Steiner Progressive Freebie Digi challenge.

I colored the image with Colored Pencils (inexpensive brand), blended with a touch of Gamsol then fussy cut it out.  I added some older SU DSP to the back of the panel.
The sentiment is from Create with TLC- and is SOooooooooo me!  My friend and her husband and my husband are all morning people. I can adjust when we travel together, but would rather stay up a little later and sleep in : )

CYS- What I love.......

The March challenge for the CYS group, given to us by Heather is to "Create something with YOU in Mind".  And, since we are creating using our stash...I decided to CASE a card fun fold from another group I am in.

 I made a U-fold/Bridge card : )
I created using a very old Penny Black Stamp, some DP from when Pool Party was an in-color and a couple of die sets that have been used maybe once from My Favorite Things.

A place to write a message- this is the view from the back : )  I used DSP (SU), and glitter Washi Tape and a shimmery white card colored with pink copic marker for the balloons, and glittery washi for the strings.

This is looking down into the card from the front:

I rec'd the directions and a kit for this card from Betty aka Betty Murphy at SCS- here is her kit:

and looking down inside from the front:

My go to thing I LOVE to do is to try a new Technique of fun fold that I have not tried before.  I like to try alot of different things : )   This is so fun and quick that for sure ai will be making this again!  Maybe I can figure out the measurements and make an ATC like this- that would really be fun!

The CYS group can be located here.  List mom Barb had the brilliant idea- lets use our stash items- with a monthly theme, I am sure finding no shortage of items to use in my creative space for this challenge...!!! Even those in the 'get rid of' pile....... HERE is a link to all of the March cards using something all of the members of the group love!-all posted on Splitcoast for this challenge.

The group says closed- but we ARE open to new members!

Year of the Dog

I made a couple of RAK cards for blogging friends (long overdue) using the Year of the Dog digi by Michael Strong- a Freebie- on his blog.  This DP makes me think of Lantern Street in Beijing.

They are pretty close to being identical, I was in the mood for a little change after I made the first one/ I love this sweet pup digi!!!

Cranes ATC

Just back from a week in the hospital with my Mom. She was so sick with a respiratory virus!  At one point, they were talking pacemaker, but she moved past that thankfully!  So now, catching up on posting a few cards and ATC's I have made recently.

This ATC was made for a monthly ATC lottery at About Oriental Stamp Art (AOSA) group on Yahoogroups.  I have been having much fun with Distress inks lately- and using stencils.
The stamp is AAA/Art Neko and I used a die to cut out the tag.

COF-Easter

I am the hostess this month. Since Easter is before our April posting, I would like to concentrate on the sacrifice Jesus made for us- him becoming the Passover Lamb- suffering, dying and rising again for us!
John 19:28-30 After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said, "I thirst". A bowl full of vinegar stood there; so they put a sponge full of the vinegar on hyssop and held it to his mouth. When Jesus had received the vinegar, he said, "It is finished", and bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

The Mosaic Law required the the sacrificial lamb be spotless and have no broken bones. Christ is the sacrificial lamb of the new Passover. The passion, crucifixion and death of Christ, offered for our redemption, is proof of God's love for us and of the enormity of our sins that offend God and separate us from Him.

Please make a project using a cross and on your card, use purple somewhere- a small amount or the entire card- it is up to you.

I pulled these images out of my unused section.... I think they are Eureka stamps, but I could be wrong......
The cross is inked up with Versamark and Close to Cocoa (retired SU ink) and then clear embossed. I added it to the embossed background using dimensionals.  The ribbon was added, then the sentiment. The sentiment was stamped with Black Memento Tuxedo ink and colored with just a touch of Copic Marker.

The Crafters of Faith is a group on SCS. We have a challenge hostess from the group give us a challenge each month based on a scripture. It is an OPEN group, so if you would like to join us, drop Kelly a line!  Check out the other COF cards on Splitcoast HERE!

March ATC's- Owls

The monthly ATC exchange theme this month was Owls. Here is what I came up with.

Image is CTMH. The circles-chipboard from Globecraft Piccalo and covered with Enamel EP. The background is Distress Inks and stencils.

I made a background that was faux wood, so scored it and made it a window where the owls could peek out.  I am unsure of where I bought this stamp set.

Distress Inks background using stencils, Washi, rhinestones and CTMH image.

This set is a piece of cardstock that was inked brown, texturized with an EF and I ripped a hold out of the center and have a CTMH owl peeking through.  The owl is symmetrical, so I glued another owl on the back side of the card.

More Distress Oxide ink backgrounds with a Gina Marie dies and Sentiment unknown.

I used a Cheery Lynn die that includes 5 animals, one of which is an owl. I cut it out using different papers. The backgrounds, again, are using Distress Oxide inks and stencils.

These are the owl ATC's I received back:

It is always fun to see the great ideas other people have with the monthly theme.
