Sketch

A rare (for me) card using no stamping!  I will put a sentiment on the inside.

I rec'd this beautiful die from a SCS crafter.  I love it!  I used the Sketch challenge at SCS and some beautiful Carta Bella from Hobby Lobby. I added rhinestones and used the B95 Copic to color in the rhinestones.

Galaxy

I decided I needed to make a galaxy background.... I used a Sketch layout as my inspiration.....

Every Wednesday, there is a sketch challenge at Splitcoast.  I made this for the latest challenge. I cannot remember who creates this digital image- it was in my huge- to use digi image folder.  I always think that I should not the company when I print them...but don not always follow through.....
I used Distress inks on the background, added black soot over the top.  I added splatters in white and in shimmer. The stars were cut out of glitter paper. The image had been printed out - I generally print on a lighter weight cardstock Georgia Pacific (but I can only assume). I colored the image using Copics and added shimmer using Wink of Stella.
Finally, I added the sentiment strip- from Simon Says Stamps.

Waving hello- and I know I am behind on blog commenting- I promise to get by in the next week!

Adore Him

A Christmas card I made for the Dirty Dozen posting with a Christmas scene.

Over at Splitcoaststampers, the Dirty Dozen posts a gallery each month and it is for Fan Club members only. We are allowed to post our cards after our 6 month 'term' is completed.

This image is Penny Black. The sky is Distress inks, there is shimmery splatter in the sky as well. Images were colored using Copic markers. I love the way this card turned out!

Birthday on the Farm

Over at Splitcoast, we are celebrating Betty via the Teapot Tuesday challenge- and sending her Farm themed cards for her 94th Birthday.

I stamped this image at my friend Hetty's house a couple of years ago, and finally getting just the right time to create with it. The image is colored using Copics It is cut out using a Wonky Stitching die cut. I layered it over the scalloped diecut in black.

Penny Black makes the cutest images!

Splitcoast DIrty Dozen

Kinda of a shock for me recently- I was asked to join the Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen Design team!  my 6 months are up, so sharing a card I used to fit into a challenge theme for the month.

Almost everything I used on this card is from Simon Says Stamps.  I love this die, and love creating using techniques and Mixed Media. The sentiment is SSS.
I saw a card by Debbie Hays, and it inspired this beautiful card!

In the Clouds

The Classy Card ladies are creating with the theme of "In the Clouds".  Jeanette and Kelly are our hostesses and I am on team Jeanette- here are the cards I created with her kit :

We have company here- DS, DIL and GS.  SO I am going back to 1990...lol  I traced the silver SU metallic card using a circle and hand cut it, the piercing done with a sewing machine needle..... The acetate is from a carton of blueberries....  the sequins were in the kit, but I love the window looking at the white clouds. I fussy cut the clouds and the Hot air balloons.  The sentiment will be added on the inside.

For this card, I used the DP (Jeanette's stash) and added the sentiment, which was die cut from a Spellbinders die. The clouds were backed with the SU silver metallic card. The hot air balloon was fussy cut and added over a strip of the metallic ribbon.

Our kit from Jeanette included:
Image/Sentiment:
Fun Stampers Journey Fly Away
Embossing folder- Darice Clouds
SU Ballet Blue
Ribbon- SU or Bazille
Recollections enamel dots
Sequins- stash (Jeanette's stash)

Here are the links to the other Pearls and Diamonds- hop on around to see what the other ladies made with the exact same kit : )

Tweet and Sketch

Todays Sketch challenge at SCS was a nice simple one, and I turned it on its side. I combined it with a Teapot Tuesday card with a summer theme.

I love birds and birdwatching. That is, as long as their singing does not wake me up at 4:30AM....LOL  I have quite a few bird feeders in my backyard, and a camera set up to take pictures, especially during migration.  I also love House Mouse images, so here is a fun card using both!
The image was colored using Copic Markers. I did some stitching on the outer cardstock layers and piercing on the main panel. I die cut the letters using a Memory box alpha die cut.

Best Wishes Fore You

This card is for a friend's husband, Larry, who fell and broke his hip.  He likes to watch golf and basketball.

I originally bought this image for a card for my hubby. He loves sports.  He goes out and plays golf a few times each summer. And, he and college friends also go out and play winter gold- snow or not- and if there is snow, they golf with orange balls and take shovels with them.
Anyway, I thought Larry would get a chuckle out if this- image by Whipper Snapper and the sentiment is by Amuse. I colored using the packaging of the stamp as a guide.

Inlaid die cuts

For the Alpha challenge, we were challenged to make a card using Inlaid die cuts.  I have chosen a die cut that I have not used before.....

And, the inverse,

I found a technique sheet in my stash, and a red cardstock that would coordinate.  I placed 2.5" double sided tape on the reverse of each and die cut them, then filled in all of the pieces- yep, there were lots of pieces.  I am pleased with how they came out : )
I used sentiment embellishments so as not to cover up much of the base of the cards. I really like how they came out. This is a fun technique- if you have not tried it, I recommend it!  Although, maybe a less intricate die cut for starters would be better!
The first card features a Hero Arts stamp and die set, and the 2nd Sweet n Sassy sentiment.

Water fun

I made up a card for the Inspiration challenge at SCS, and used water in 2 ways.  Water themed images and Wrinkle Free Distress technique to apply the Distress inks.

For wrinkle free distress, I dab ink from the DI pad on my craft mat, then spritz with water.  Dip your cardstock into the watered down ink and you get a great look.
The brown ink (sand) is ink brush blended on, and Choc chip ink watered down then spritzed onto the card. I also added water drops.
All of the images , My Favorite Things, were colored using Copics and Zig waterbrush markers. I used a white Signo paint pen for the white ripples in the water.

Teapot Tuesday- White on White

White on White has always been a struggle for me- but if you want to overcome, you have to try and try again!!!  LOL

The Teapot Tuesday challenge is White on White this round.  I used Recollections #110 white cardstock, the bottom layer embossed with a 3D EF by Sissix. Next, I diecut flowers in white by Sissix . I wanted to use lace and ribbon, and added some shimmery white DMC. I added a white satin bow and a white mulberry flower.
My die cut flowers were just floating around, so I added a small cone holder, and added a touch of the lace to that as well.  Sequins finished off the card.
