Here for You

Finally able to create today! Nothing better than a big blooming flower to cheer you up!

I just love the Coral colors, and used up some (older and retired) Cameo Coral cardstock from the stash.  Copics R32 and R35 for the Corals and YG61 and 63, with a light touch of YG67 too. I attempted to add Nuvo Glitter drops and did not like them, so just took my finger and smeared them on the cardstock, and added more to that- a shimmery glitter look!  I took a wood skewer stick and added Nuvo glitter drops to the center of the flower as well. The sentiment is part of the set from Unity.

I have been dealing with a neck injury from a recent car accident- a nice case of Whiplash.  I am so thrilled to feel up to creating today!  I hope you and your family are all well today!

We have one nephew and one of my cousins that are infected with the Covid19 virus.  Our prayers for all infected, all caring for loved ones in quarantine at home, all of the medical personnel and first responders, all of the grocery staff and all others whose jobs are essential that have to leave home everyday to keep us in supply for what we need. Also, prayers for those who have lost their jobs.

I hope this colorful flower brings a smile to your face! Happy last day of March!!!  I am not sure March is going out like a lamb this year...…!

Seeds and blossoms

I had a bit of time to create today, The Ways to Use it challenge at SCS asks for 'seeds' projects.  I have this Prima Dp that has seed packets on it, and created using a digital set im my 'to use' pile by Graciellie Designs.  I have used this set before- so love it!

The Prima DP is a soft pastel in shades of yellow, pink, green and blue.  I chose to made the flowers pink, as it is my favorite color : )  The green layer under the DP is distress in the edges and them layered on a soft pink cardstock.
I used a Memory Box stitched circle die that I cut out of DP, and layered the flower and the butterfly on it.  The sentiment is also Graciellie Designs and I outlined it in pink Copic marker.

Let's dance

Time in the craft room and I created a sweet girly card.

I bought this DP paper stack in the Netherlands last year.  This dancing sweetie from All Dressed Up  fits perfectly with the color and style of it I think.  I added a touch of ribbon over a Martha Stewart edge punch.  A few sequins was the finishing touch.
The image is colored with Copics and there is Wink of Stella applies to the wings.

Spring Gnomes

Prompted by challenges at SCS, I made a card with Fabric and a Spring theme.

I sorted a pile of images either stamped or printed digi's...and I do not know who makes this image.....  The little mushroom is Lawn Fawn.
The background is watercolor paper with paints by Daniel Smith.  After it was dry, I ran it through an EF by Tim Holtz...…..  I highlighted raised areas with Distress inks. Then, I added Nuvo Glitter gel in Sapphire through a TH stencil. I added a strip of fabric and topped it off with a die cut trimmed off on one side to fit the sketch.  The image from that pile of images- I have no idea who makes this....was colored using Copic markers.

Easter Wishes

Easter is just around the corner, and I had to ink up this fun stamp set and play with a SCS challenge today- I chose the sketch challenge.

I bought the Simon Says Stamps kit called Cottentail and had to ink it up today!  I used the sketch at SCS for the prompt as I already mentioned. I colored the images using Copic markers.  The pearls, the puffy tail and DP are all from the kit.  The other dies are from my stash.  There are 3 eggs in the grass- all stamped on technique pieces and fussy cut.

Color Challenge- Sympathy

This pretty floral stamp was in my pile to ink up, so I got out the Copics and went to town.

I used the color challenge at Splitcoast for my prompt. I do not have the SU colors listed, so did my best to match up the colors. The die us a stitched circle die by Memory Box.  The outer die is actually one piece, so I cut out the dk purple to end just past the dots, and then the white card the full die.  Finally, the sentiment is SU. I am unsure of the floral image- possibly SU, maybe Gina K...…  I will post if I figure it out : )

Watercolor on Black Cardstock

I tried something new and it was a challenge for the Technique Lovers over at Splitcoaststampers.  That challenge- water coloring on black cardstock.

I really love the way this turned out  : )   I thought it would be a great backdrop for this great turtle image from the Technique Junkies. Stamped in Versamark and embossed in Turquoise Lagoon Enamel EP from Sweet Stamps.  I used a Versamark marker on the bubbles and used a white EP on them.  The sentiment by Sweet n Sassy stamps is stamped and embossed using black EP.
The panel is backed with a shimmery silver and then layered on Pool Party cardstock.
I added sequins for a final touch.

Jan's Digital Stamps- Anything Goes

I am honored and thrilled to be Guest Designing for Jan's Digital Stamps!  I used a recently released stamp set ,  "Get Well Soon 3260J".  The set also included sentiments.

The precolored image was so pretty, that I decided to use it on my card.  I diecut the image using a die from Divinity Designs (formerly Our Daily Bread).  I added an embossed lighter green card, backed with a tiny medium brown cardstock, and it is layered onto a Green cardstock. The sentiment is part of the set.

The Challenge theme is always Anything Goes and winners are picked by Random.org.

***CHANGES TO THE CHALLENGE at Jan's:

1.  Beginning in April, we are going to be doing 2 random draws each time; one specifically for entries which use a JDS image, and the other for everyone else.  Each winner will receive a gift certificate for $10 to be spent in the store.  This will greatly increase the chances of being a winner for anyone who enters using a Jan's image.

2.  Secondly, in April, we are going to go to a monthly challenge on the first Monday of each month, ending on the Sunday before the next challenge starts.

Dueling Darlings-Coffee!

The Dueling Darlings hostesses this month are Terry L (Dazzlers) and Tami (Divas). They chose the  theme of Coffee!  That will make quite a few of our duo team so happy!  I am a tea drinker, but I certainly have many, many friends that I can send a coffee card to.

This particular card will be added to the Splitcoast Teapot Tuesday challenge.
An amazing act of kindness and compassion on our recipient's part and we want to pay it forward to her. Pixie Adams is a coffee shop owner in Oregon who temporarily closed her shop and redirected customers to a competitor coffee shop down the street after learning the owner of that shop had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Not only did Pixie close up her shop, she actually worked at the other shop for a day to help raise money for the shop owner and his family.

You can read more about this story here:

And, my 2nd card above.  Everything I used on the cards is from the kit : )  The stamps are Concord and 9th!

Here are the links for all of the Dazzlers and the Divas.  I look forward to seeing all of the different versions or interpretations of the kit!

Wanted!

I am trying to catch up with cards I am making for an Alpha challenge at SCS.  P=Polka Dots

I recently discovered Newton's Nook images through the Dueling Darlings group (at SCS). Tracie uses these stamps and we had a kit with one,....  and I had to go look and ended up buying some : )  With a little Grandson (10 months now), I picked up this set which I know I will use a lot!
I opened my 6x6 DP storage drawer, and this Polka Dot piece was right there, so stamped and colored the image, then added the sentiments in brown ink.  I distressed the edge of the Choc Chip layer and called it a day!  Nice and flat for mailing too.

Challenges:

Bugaboo New Release Day

It's Tuesday, and that means it's New Release Day at Bugaboo!  Jodie has created a sweet image for St Patrick's Day, and I had to ink it up.

My Dad was 100% Irish, and we love to celebrate in my family!  I love this image, as you can make it as small or large as you like, but love the elephant so much : )

I have cut out 3 layers of outside dies in green, and then the Gold glittery layer is on top of that.  The circle with the elephant fits into that circle.  The image is colored using Copic markers. There is a small clover image by Hero Arts stamped on the background of the card in Green.  The band is a diecut from Cheery Lynn Designs and it is also cut out of glitter cardstock.  I added white cardstock inside and punched a 3 leaf clover using a hand held punch.

Stop by the Bugaboo challenge blog- Catch the Bug and check out our weekly Saturday challenges and the biweekly sketch challenge- great prizes to be won!  There is also a Friday Freebie each week in the store.

COF and Bugaboo challenge

March 2020: Hostess/Sue
Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:5-8
for you are all sons of light and sons of day We are not of night nor of darkness; so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober. For those who sleep do their sleeping at night, and those who get drunk get drunk at night.
But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.
Challenge:
Daylight Savings Time begins in March. We’ll see more light as our days get longer. Make a card that illustrates how you shine the light of Christ to others. OR Make a card that illustrates faith, hope or love

Beautiful blocks Faith is the name of this digital image from Bugaboo. I thought it spoke what the challenge is about fully.  I left the card CAS and let the sentiment speak for itself : )

Copic markers are used to color the flowers and butterflies.  A SAkura Stardust gelly roll pen was used to add sparkle to the swirly areas on the image.

Crafters of Faith posts on the 7th of each month.  If you are a member at Splitcoaststampers and want to join us, please do!  You can find us at Splitcoaststampers-Forums-Swaps-Cards-Open-Crafters of Faith

Define- JOY

I did a little coloring today and was channeling JOY!

I can send this to any of my 4 brothers and 2 sisters, and the first thing that will enter their minds, with a smile on their faces, is Dad. My Dad enjoyed sugar very much (and was as skinny as could be- and never had blood sugar issues....).  I am pretty sure his favorite way to ingest sugar was eating Jelly Beans.  There were always candy bowls around the house with Tootsie rolls, Tootsie pops, and other assorted candy.  It was always a challenge to me, as I enjoy sugar a bit (ALOT)  myself, but do not have his skinny body type : )

This sweet image is called Jelly Bean Break from House Mouse.  I used DP from Bo Bunny. The border punch is M.S. The embossing is on the green sentiment strip using a retired EF from SU, and the dies are by Crafty-Ann. I used a touch of Distress ink on the card and the sky.

I used the sketch from SCS for today,  3/4. I am entering this in the House Mouse Challenge where the challenge is AG embossing- wet or dry.  I embossed the panel under the letters.

Hi There!

I was able to create for a challenge at Splitcoaststampers and you CASE a card of another card maker from their gallery.  I had this KLM gnome digital image in my 'to use' stack, so THIS project caught me eye right away.

I used paper piecing for the hat, sleeves and pants.  The rest was colored using Copic markers. It is hard to see the shading.....  I distressed all of the cardstock and DP. Twine and sequins were the final touch. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn. I used liquid applique for the nose.

I am joining in the 30 day marker challenge, so I will be attempting a card a day for this month, we'll see!

Jan's Digital Images Block Alphabet

I had fun creating with the Block Sentiments set from Jan's Digital images.  I am honored to be a GDT for a few months and really enjoying creating with these beautiful digital images.

Copic markers were used for coloring this image. I used up some scraps and made a background of colored strips, then ran it through with a 'numbers' EF from Sissix. I used an old die set from MFT with all of the Birthday Balloons. The balloons are colored with a white gelly roll pen and a Wink of Stella waterbrush pen. The base die is Cheery Lynn designs.
I have quite a few family Birthdays at the end of February and March, so always great to complete Birthday cards!

This is a precolored digi set- I picked the colors from the image for the background. The strips were cut and placed on a bacground with sticky adhesive placed upon it. The stitched postage stamp die was backed using black card, and I added on black enamel dots to complete the card. Just a touch of twine is the finishing touch to the card.
