Under His Feathers.....

 I created a card for the Teapot Tuesday challenge at Splitcoaststampers, and used the colors from the color challenge as well. The Teapot party this week if for a fellow Alpha challenge member- she lost her Mother 2 years ago and we are sending her a bug HUG!

I colored the image from Angie Blom digi Designs with Copic markers. I used a cloud stencil from A Colorful Life. The sentiment is by Our Daily Bread (Divinity Designs).  It needed a little something, so I lined the bottom cardstock with 1/4" double sided sticky tape and added Oyster glitter to the edge. 

   Reflecting back on our own mothers- and my memories of things she enjoyed- flowers, birds and her faith were all really important to her. To unwind, she painted porcelains and was a teacher of her art. 

Happy Mother's Day to all who celebrate.  Big Hugs to those who have lost their Mom's- mine passed 12/2018. And, to all who are special to others- whether you are an Aunt, a friend, etc....  Big Hugs to you as well!

The CAS challenge today at SCS is White on White- it is OK to have a little color.  

 This image is from Our Daily Bread/ Divinity Designs. I used Queens Gold EP by Ranger.  The die is by Gina Marie.  I am teaching 8th grade Religious Ed, and will be making a few more of these cards, and will experiment with different designs.

COF - "Rock"

For our first Crafters of Faith 2019 challenge, Kelly is our hostess.

Scripture: “There is no one holy like the LORD; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God. ~1 Samuel 2:2 

My challenge for you this month is my son's gifted rock! (See the photo inspiration.) Use a rock somewhere on your card. It can be a single stone, river rocks, mountains - however the scriptures speaks to you! And if none of those work, maybe you want to use rock dsp or river rock ribbon, etc. 

  Here is my card:

 The image is from I Brake for Stamps, it is called Well and Roses. I colored with it with Copics. The Sentiment is from Our Daily Bread/aka Divinity Stamps Thinking of You set. 
 The sequins are from Unity Stamps. The die is an older Spellbinders one.

October 2018 ~ Hostess: Liz

scripture: Luke 11:9 "Ask and it shall be given to you, Seek and ye shall find, Knock and it shall be opened onto you."

challenge: Use stamp or something that was given to you by someone, use something you find in your stash, and create something that can be opened (like a card, a box, or open your Bible and do a journal page).

For our Crafters Of Faith challenge, I made a card for a friend who really got me into bird watching.  I had made a different version to send a few months ago, and my daughters dog- ate it!!!  He shredded a few books and some flashcards too!  LOL

 This is Our Daily Bread Chickadee image. I colored the image with Copics. I used a Cheery Lynn corner die. The border die - I did not mark it, so not sure who makes it.  I added some Washi in 2 corners, then embellished with pearls by Kaiser craft. Cardstock is SU.

Challenge Your Stash

 I have joined a group on Splitcoast where we are Challenged to 'Use our Stash'. Additionally, each month we have a theme- this month is Silver, Black and White. Such a challenge gets you looking in your stash for some ideas- so much stash...hehehe  (I won't mention unused).

  I decided to get out the Washi Tape. I seem to believe I will not buy any more, then I walk by a display and behold, another roll I have to have.......
  I used a cardstock that I purchased many years ago that is black on the outside and white on the inside. I layered the Washi diagonally. The image (unused) is by Our Daily Bread Designs. The silver backing for the image and the musical notes are Christmas wrapping paper : )  . The musical notes dies are by Ellentina.
 Well, I could not stop at one......

  I used more vintage Washi this time. The image and sentiment are by Unity Stamps (also never used before).  I punched 3 hearts with a SU punch using the silver wrapping paper. I added Sparkle on the image using a Sakura Gelly Roll pen, then got carried away and outlined the image and al of the words in the sentiment.

  I am almost back at full speed- I am loading all of the programs I use the most on my computer.  I still have not figured out how to fix the header on my blog, may have to try another change and see if it goes back to being centered : )

COF Friendship

 Crafters of Faith is a group on SCS and is a group for faith based friends to gather. We have a monthly theme and create cards with supplies on hand- very low key, but wonderful!

 Our Jan theme is Proverbs 27:9 - "A sweet friendship refreshes the soul". So lets see a card about friendship. I love this image and sentiment by ODB Designs and thought it would be perfect : )

Nauti-cal

I joined a Swap group over at SCS- and Kelly was the 1st hostess- with a theme of Nauti-cal.

 I watercolored the image from Impression Obsession on Confetti cardstock and used some older SU DP for the card base.

 And, I also made a 2nd card:

 For this card, I used an image from Our Daily Bread Designs. I sponged on color and added kept the design CAS. I bought this image over 3 years ago, and am just inking it up for the first time......

Challenges:
Retro Rubber challenge- Brads and  use an image  1 yr old (mine is 3 yrs old) for 2nd card.

Design Diva's Oldies but Goodies Blog Hop

Oldies but goodies refers to any stamps we have not used in 6 months...... I find this a great inspiration to get out stamps that I have not used.....

I have this gorgeous stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs Happy Birthday set that I bought- I think a year ago....... I broke it out of it's case tonight to make my Aunt a 90th Birthday card.  What was I waiting for???  I colored the image with Copic markers and added a touch of Creative Inspirations paint to highlight the centers of the flowers.  I made the ribbon from white rayon seam binding with Rose Red SU reinker.  I will be making a few more of these cards- one for each of my sisters, one for my Mom.......
