Wanted

Using a stamp that has not seen ink before, inspired by Stamperrobin at SCS who is the Featured Stamper today.

Stenciling done with distress inks.  Copic markers were used to color the image. I used a MFT die to cut the border. I added banners and twine.

Creative time

A Zoom session inspired me to try a couple of challenges at SCS...we were all creating something different.  I did the color challenge and the Tuesday Teapot challenge as well : )

This is for the color challenge- and the colors are Poppy, Bumblebee and a green....  I tried to use COpics that were close matches and was not happy with the colors, so grabbed this EF and used Daniel Smith watercolors. The vertical sentiment- I have an entire folder of them, is from unknown company.....

I sponged on SU inks Carmel and Close to Cocoa, then Distress ink Broken China. I had a stencil by Recollections and drew on the mountains in Copics and a white Signo pen. The truck was stamped in SU Marina Mist, then Versamark and clear embossed. The sentiment is stamped in Choc. Chip SU ink.  The gentleman this card is going to lives near Mesa, Az.  He has had some health struggles and we are dropping him a line to cheer him up.

Happy Birthday

I spent some time cleaning and sorting in my craft room after the Dare to Get Dirty challenges....  Oh what a mess! Never happens to you, right???  LOL

On my desk is a pile of items to be used from friends.... This die cut and bird were from an Alpha (challenge) friend Sharon.....  The CAS challenge at SCS is glitter.  So, I added glitter paper behind the die and this is my card.  Is this CAS???  The Happy Birthday die is by MFT.

More DTGD cards

Dare to Get Dirty at SCS is a fun stamping challenge event for Fan Club members.  This year there are 49 challenges, and the deadline for uploading is Friday 8/20!

I used a Christmas Crazy kit for this image, the background using a stencil and gilding flakes- fan off while applying them!  LOL  Image was colored using Copics and I added Liquid Applique on the top of the stockings. This image is by Flourishes.

This DP was sent to me by another stamper on Splitcoast, so I went with the colors and cut out butterflies- the sentiment was sent to me with the DP.

This is my first time doing no line coloring- the image by Hero Arts was used and I colored using Copics and did some last minute touch ups with Prismacolor pencils.

I hope you will come join us- there are lots of great prizes!!!

Alcohol and Stamping

I had fun with a technique I found on the internet using Copic (or Alcohol ink) markers and 91% running alcohol.  I experimented with different markers, different strength of Isopropol alcohol and even hand sanitizer.  Here is what I came up with:

This background is what the technique is supposed to look like- and I love this!  After the alcohol blends the ink, wink of Stella is splattered on- oh my- so pretty!  Then splatters of the AI added.

This is on a sheet of Vellum run through an EF : ) The EF is SU and the sentiment is SweetnSassy stamps.

Another EF- this stamp set is Sunny Studios.  I love this sweet image and coordinating sentiment!

Another EF- Sharpie markers were used on this one, and the sentiment was in my stash.

Finally, I initially threw this in the garbage....  The technique did not work so well when I used this Bic marker. But, I decided it was OK.....  This sentiment uses a diecut from MFT.

My favorite cards are created using techniques, as that is how I learned to stamp!  Back in the day, we did not have Splitcoast Tutorials or Gina K stamp TV : )

Beach and sunflowers : )

Making cards for DTGD still, so this is why the themes of my cards are so different : )

I made this for my Beach/Sun loving daughter : )  I used a fun new stamp set that I bought from Newton's Nook. I sponged on SU inks using a post it note so I could enter the 'stripes' challenge- my first time entering a challenge at Newtons Nook Inky Paws challenge

This next card uses a stamp that has not seen ink for a while- and it is by Great Impressions.  I used Zig water brushes to color the image.  The DP is Paper Studios. I added ribbon and lace and love the look.

More DTGD

Stamping away this week for the DTGD challenges.  I wanted to post a few more here : )

I have never tried this technique before- very interesting : )  The butterfly is Memory Box. The background is Distress inks.

Another sample using this technique again.....  fun look. DSP is SU and sentiment Hero Arts.

I love pink : )  For this challenge, I used a die from Pink Fresh Studio.  I colored the pearls with a Copic to make them pink.

More Distress Ink blending on this background.  I used stamps from alot of companies on this card.  Hero Arts, Sparkle and Sprinkle, Avery Elle, Dena Reaveley.

The DTGD challenges are for fan club members.  If you aren't a member, you can join and have until the 20th to upload cards.  Consider joining in- lots of great prizes, even if you can only do a few challenges!

Dare to Get Dirty 2021

I am putting the pedal to the medal and trying to stamp, stamp, stamp for the challenges at Splitcoast for Dare to Get Dirty 2021.  I am trying- my back is the boss of me sometimes......

This fun card was for the 1st challenge from Lydia, and I used am image from Photoplay (from a kit Barb sent).  The image was colored using Copics.

The next 2 cards were made for Dina's 1st challenge using a technique Ardyth taught at the Card Makers Summit 2021.  I think it took far more time for me than for her.... but like the 2 for 1 you get.

The next card is for Lori's first challenge, and I was able to add a new die to the mix- it is HUGE!  The background is Distress ink blending. Nice and CAS : )

If you are around this week, come play at DTGD- lots of great challenges and fun prizes too!

Travel Folio

I joined in a challenge at Splitcoast called Teapot Tickle (7/27), and am just finishing my project.  At the end of the month, we send our tickles to each other, so I am a touch late.....  This will get out in the mail tomorrow : )

 Our theme was destination.

So, this folio opens with the side on the Rt here- that is the cover.  My destination, the Galapagos Islands- nature baby!!!
The last page is the page on the Lt.....  on the bottom, the strip says, "  was here".

E
On the inside, we made the pages fold up where you could put anything- I made tags to fit into the slots.
The digi images are from a new to me company called E-scape and Scrap.  I mixed images from a few sets.  There are a couple of Unity stamps here as well -on the tags.

Northern Lights

I am a tad bit behind on the Alpha challenge, but hopped in to do the N=Northern Lights card.  I am not sure if I have ever done this technique or not.....

I saw a card on Pinterest similar to this, and loved it!  I started with a retired SU green shade-sponged on the ink, then switched over to distress inks. I splattered on white paint and then Wink of Stella. Once the ink was good and dry, I stamped and embossed the tree image. The sentiment is from a Tim Holts sticker sheet book.
