Bugaboo- Oldie but Goodie

On Thursdays at Bugaboo, at the Catch the Bug challenge Blog, we post cards using images that are not  'new releases'.  Aka Oldie but Goodie.  I have to admit, I love all of the Bugaboo images, but always love flowers!!!

I went with a Shabby Chic theme for my card.  The image was colored using Copic markers.  I added G45 DP on the background and under the image panel.  I added a die at the top of the card with a few pearls.  There are flourish die cuts made using a Cheery Lynn die. I also added premade rolled and mulberry flowers with pearls in the centers.

CYS August- stencils

Our Hostess for CYS (Challenge Your Stash), a monthly challenge at,  is Kelly.  She challenged us to use stencils.  Oh, I have a few of those (large drawer full).....LOL

I made a background using distress inks, then added flicks of water to watermark. Next, I spritzed the stencil, and laid it on top of the background, then lifted it up, and a watermark of the stencil is on the background.
When I first had a Scan N Cut, I cut out oddles and oddles of images, which reside in a baggie.....  I am doing some sorting today and came across the baggie and took out this vase (which I cut about 10 of) and colored it up and added it to the card.  I used the Splitcoaststampers Sketch challenge for the card as well.

You can find us at Your Stash.  Even though the challenge is in a 'Closed' area, it IS open for new members.  We are using supplies in our stash that are 'unused' for a while!!!

Let's Party!

Instead of sorting, I am playing : )   I had to look up the challenges at SCS today, and I tried a color challenge combined with the TeaPot challenge which is watercoloring and doodling.

I used Distress Inks to watercolor and come as close to the recommended colors as I could- Grape, Lipstick and Costal Cabana. I used neutrals that are allowed- Greens and Browns.  Instead of neutral Merry Merlot, I used Razzleberry for matting the card. I guess I should get back to sorting....LOL

Two become One......

I have a few 'new to me' stamps on my desk today, and decided to ink one set up and make a Wedding card.  I took my inspiration from the Featured Stamper post on SCS today.

So, this is a Unity sentiment set, and I stamped and embossed the birdhouse in Silver on Vellum.  The two birds are stamped and embossed with Stardust EP, then fussy cut and popped up on foam dots.  I added a touch of pink Copic marker from the back on the vellum at the bottom of the birdcage where the row of hearts is.
The top sentiment is stamped on Gray cardstock in Silver.  The bottom left sentiment is on vellum also in silver EP, and backed with a metallic silver card.
I added 1/4" double sided tape to the edges of the card, and added some holographic foil on the edges.  Sequins were the final touch.

This is what I stamped, layered on silver metallic cardstock then added to the inside of the card.  It was on a clearance rack at Gina K's a while back.  The card is a shimmery surface, and I added clear EP over the top so it would not smear.

Asian ATC

This is an ATC I sent out with the theme Asian fans. The DP in the background is a paper I bought in China.  The Washi tape added with flower- also from Asia.  The Kanji stamp is from Markies Finest Paper which is now closed.

DTGD day 9- I finished!!!

Goodness, I have been stamping like a maniac and loving every minute of it!!  I have completed all of the challenges!!!  And, a day before the seadline too.  I made more cards then the DTGD challenge as well, but those are for another day!

If you have known me long, there was a time when I did stitching on every card!  It has been awhile!  I used Unity stamps and Distress Oxide inks for this card.

This card uses NO stamps, but a collection of fun items from my stamping room.  I love Graphic 45 cardstock packs, and I tried not to fussy it up too much.  The wording and piano keys are from the paperstack. The butterfly die, the flourish and the edge die are all Cheery Lynn Designs.

This little House Mouse is channeling peace on the beach- the outside world is far, far away!!!  LOL.  I also used SU stamps the birds and the trees, and the stamp over the water is a older retired SU background.  The image was colored with Copics.

This was fun and I will experiment with it more!  Especially in a smaller version for my ATC's!  The sentiment showed up on my desk- I have no idea where it is from, I will update here if it comes to my attention.

This card uses a Unity stamp set.  I have to say, I really like it!  I added some sparkle to the Copic coloring on the floral head piece and the necklace.  I used SU inks for this.

Not my best work, as I was in a hurry.... had a deadline.... but this turtle- who became a bit misshaped, was made from felt.  That is a Su stamp by the way.  If I do it again, I would do the stitching on the surface, then cut out the turtle and sew it together : )  The samples were really really adorable, so I will try this again!!!

DTGD post 8

The Splitcoast Dare To Get Dirty aka DTGD challenges are keeping me busy in my stamp room!  I am enjoying creating very much.  Here are a few more of the cards I made for the challenges.

This image is by Michael Strong Stamps.  There is a faint technique in the BG, but I am really happy with the beauty of this flower!
I am going to enter this in the Lemon Shortbread challenge- post #100!

This card uses House Mouse stamps and a stencil by MFT.  The sentiment is from a Sweet n Sassy set.
I am entering this card in the Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge. The House Mouse challenge is AG with a twist- Back to school.

This is a Stampin Up background from 2003- a real blast from the past!!! I used SU inks on glossy cardstock for the color.  I am entering this in the Retro Rubber challenge.

This Stampin Up set is from 2006.

I did this the hard way- I cut out both the background and the holographic foil with a Cheery Lynn die.....  Then, had to piece this all back together.  I did flip a couple purposely just for fun, and I am liking the way it looks.  I ran it through the Big Shot once done, to really flatten the pieces in there!

One or two more posts and it will wrap up the week!

DTGD day 5

I have been stamping away- having fun and using so many forgotten stamps!!!

First, I made a card using the Bugaboo Friday Freebie for this week!  I always love Stella!!!

LOL, she always cracks me up!!! I just colored with Copics and added twine and enamel dots.

I made a fun card using some flowers I had cut out with the Scan and Cut.  Colored with Copics.  It has been a while since I made a card like this- fun! Images all Stampin Up. These images have been sitting unused until recently.  It's the 2nd card made with this set for DTGD.

Here is a fun Asian card- I just bought these Panda's from Newtons Nook and had a blast putting this scene together.

Aren't they adorable?  I used some asian dies- I have these all on magnetic sheets and did not save the out packages, so no idea who makes them.........

I am entering this Z fold card in the Aud Sentiment challenge and in the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies challenges.

I had fun creating this card as well- I used Distress Oxides on the background in fun light summery colors.

and finally, a cool weather card using a new stamp given to me earlier this week- I put this card together using 2 Great Impressions stamps and Stampin Up for the sentiment.

I am entering this card in the Craft Rocket AG challenge.

The snowflakes are embossed with Stardust EP which is shimmery, and the tree is paper pieced.

DTGD day 4 stamping

I made a couple more cards today for the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges at Splitcoaststampers. The challenges are open for all to join in, but you have to be a Fan Club member to win any prizes.

A few months ago, I posted a tutorial on how to make these cards.  I thought I'd give this one to my piano teacher : )  There is a plain panel on the bottom of the card to write a note on.

Images all SU- retired a long time ago!!!

This card is called a magic card.  The DSP is SU, the image is Embossing Arts and the sentiment is by Lockhart.

For this cute card, I used a digital image called Birthday Penguin Cupcake by Bugaboo.

A whimsical birthday card for a special little one! The image is outlined by a Gina Marie die. I added Sakura Stardust Gelly roll pen on the stripes of the hat and the balloons. The DP is Echo Park from Tuesday Mornings : )
For my Great Nephew for his 5th Birthday- I am linking this to The Male Room challenge- Birthdays

I saw this challenge at CAS Mix it Up- Use a Napkin/Paper Towel
and thought this card would fit into a challenge for DTGD. On the napkin panel, you see stenciling via a stencil. I also used dry embossing and added glimer using the drops. I am also entering Moo-Mania- butterflies.  The butterflies are also from a recycled napkin : )  Very shimmery IRL!
The panel is from a used paper towel I saved, and I added Copper SU cardstock- probably retired a few years now......  The flowers and copper leaves are Sweet Stamps dies, and the butterflies are Memory Box dies.  The bling is using Tattered Lace glimmer paint.

COF August

For the August Crafters of Faith (COF) challenge (from, we are challenged to use a city scape or some other landscape on our card by our Hostess Jennifer.

August 2019 Hostess: Jen (Jennifrann)

Scripture: I've chosen part of the scripture that I read at my Gram's funeral this April. It will always have special meaning to me. Revelation 21. For the challenge I'm focusing on Revelation 21:2-3 "I also saw the holy city, a new Jerusalem,* coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.b

3I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, God’s dwelling is with the human race.c He will dwell with them and they will be his people* and God himself will always be with them [as their God]."

Challenge: is to use a city scape or some other landscape on your card.

For myself, my cup of love is tea......  For my Mother, who lived with me for 2 years before she passed, love was many things, one was waking up every morning to a cup of love, aka coffee.  We would look out the window at nature, birds, or snow falling and just relax and enjoy each other! We would see how the simple things glorified God!!!

I am entering this in the Word Art Wednesday challenge

DTGD Day 3

I was too busy to keep up with the Dare to Get Dirty challenge at Splitcoaststampers today, but that's OK.....  Here are two projects I made last evening:

A tag using a Bugaboo image. Does this make your mouth water?  Can you imagine a warm Chocolate Chip cookie right out of the oven?  LOL
DP is Authentique.

I just love Penny Black and House Mouse Stamps, and I do not know why I do not use them more often!!!  Distress Oxides were used on the background with Gina K white ink for the Bokeh dots.  I stamped the image on the background, then restamped on white cardstock and fussy cut around the image.  Next, I colored in with Copics.

I am entering this card in the Just add Ink 'C challenge'- C=Critter and QRS Stampede AG

DTGD stamping day 2

I made more cards for the Dare to Get Dirty challenge at Spliccoaststampers today.  You have to be a Fan Club member to see and participate in the challenges, but I join each year as SCS is such a great resource and 'meeting ground' for creative ladies like myself !
There are 6 challenges for each day, so a bit more to go to catch up (made 4 yesterday), but that is OK.  I am joining in to enjoy stamping and try a few new techniques.  Plus, using 'must have' stamps that need to see ink!!!

Here are a few cards from today:

I used a Unity Stamp Itty Bitty for this card.  I embossed the flower and the sentiment with black EP.  The background piece uses Daniel Smith watercolors. The die is MFT.

I am entering this in the Dare2BArtzy challenge- AG

This card and the one above are from Day 1 challenges.  I used a Technique Junkies image for this one.  This image comes connected, but I dissected it so the cool background will show through. I heat embossed and used fine detail black EP on the image and sentiment. The cups are watercolored using SU ink pads.  I added sequence and twine to finish it off. I have to add, I always have tea with me, allergies.......  water....bleh!
I will enter this card in the International Art & Soul embossing challenge

One more for my baseball loving husband.  I make him a card -usually once during the summer season.  I colored this with copics.
This is sitting on my kitchen table, and he has walked by it quite a few times, but hs not noticed it yet!  LOL.

Challenges: TBA

DTGD 2019

I had a bit of time to create for day one of DTGD, aka Dare to Get Dirty at Splitcoaststampers.

The first card was created using a Stampin Up gloral image and Distress inks/Copics. I used the Scan and Cut and had a few of the floral image 'successes' from cutting, so put them to use!

I am entering this in Crafty Friends Summer colors challenge

I always enjoy using stamps that I have never inked up..... here is a set of those by My Favorite Things.

This is a shaving cream background and I used a gold metallic card and used this Christmas die by Creative Expressions. The gold background paper is recycled wrapping paper from Christmas 2017.

I am entering this in the My Time to Craft's Christmas in July challenge.

Finally, a shimmery card using dies from shimmery cardstock using a Sweet Stamps deer, Die Versions Holiday 1 set and the star is Yvonne Creations.

I am entering this card in the Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge to use a reindeer, and Jingle Belles- Blue Christmas challenge

I hope to create a few more cards this week for the DTGD challenges!
