Grad 2021

I made a few Grad cards for 2021 graduating seniors for my daughters students : )

I used a number of dies for this card- the letters and numbers are cut from Blue glitter paper. I just found a sidekick and the numbers came with it : )  The student die (I think is from Spellbinders...).. is cut using a Gina K blue cardstock, and I layered it on a white card, the same as the base (Recollections 110#). I used white shimmer cardstock for the embossed grad hat layer, and layered it on silver mirror cardstock. The star is a TH silver glitter paper.

Teapot Tuesday- for the birds

This weeks Tuesday Teapot will be a card sent to each other.  The theme is for the birds!  You know I love birds...or if you did not know that, know you do!!!  I also used the Wednesday Sketch challenge at SCS for my card : )

This image is from Technique Junkies - the sentiment is part of the image.....  How sweet- huh?  I used Memory Box stitched circle dies to cut it out and frame it.  Copics were used to color it after Tea Dye Distress ink was added to the base.  The DP is G45. \

Sympathy

I think I send the latest Sympathy cards of anyone I know- I think they need to be handmade by me (aka...I refuse to buy them)......  So, hubby asked me to make a Sympathy card (for a friend who passed away) for a wife of his friend, so I made it frilly.

So I chose to use the Sketch challenge at SCS (for this week) for my layout. I turned it on its side.  The digital image is by Angie Blom , coloring was done with Copics. The sentiment company is unknown. I stamped and embossed the sentiment with black EP.
The background is Distress Oxide inks in Speckled Egg, Faded Jeans and Broken China.  I added a touch of splatter using white acrylic paint.

Color challenge

I find color challenges just that- challenging : )  I decided to combine the colors using coordinating colors of Alcohol inks via Copic reinkers. BG10, Y21 and G21.

I added a die cut that was a RAK, added Scattered Straw stickles as an accent. A Simon Says Stamp sentiment strip was added.

Over the Moon

I have completed my 6 months of Dirty Dozen at SCS this month, so can now get back to making more cards for challenges and just for the heck of it.  And, should be around to comment weekly like before!

The Clean and Simple challenge is to use a moon.  Do you think this qualifies for CAS???  Distress inks were added to the background- and I used complimentary colors-purple and yellow- hence the tinges of brown....  I added black soot over the top.  Splatters of white paint added and dots of Stardust gelly roll pen for a little sparkle. The astronaut was colored sparingly and a little gray added to the moon.  Sweet little guy- think I will send this to my Grandson : )

Alpha B=Bokeh

For round 15 of the Alpha challenge, we are on B this week- B=Bokeh.

There are so many ways to do Bokeh!  I used Distress Oxide inks on the background, and using the same colors, added circles of colors.  I made a stencil with a 3/8", 3/4" and a 1" circle punches. I added white Unicorn pigment ink last.
The cute House Mouse image is by Stampendous. The body/fur is colored using Copics.  The party hat and confetti are watercolored using the DOX inks used on the background.
The sentiment is by Colorado Craft Co. I added sequins and called it a day!

For round Thanks for stopping by!

Teapot Tuesday

This week, out Teapot Tuesday recipient at Splitcoast is Jeanne- she has lost most of her vision.  She was an avid stamper and can no longer partake,

I have a new die by Sizzix for TH, and used a stack of card in my stash that I used in different colors to cut out flowers. I used a number of them to die cut out different colors of flowers, and for this card, I used a yellow and blue color theme. I made quite a few of these flowers.

The sentiment is by Colorado Craft company.

My Dad had macular degeneration, and I know how he would use his other senses to navigate the environment.  I used dimension on this card for Jeanne.  I hope she enjoys it!

Splitcoast sketch challenge

I was invited to join the Sketch challenge team at Splitcoast for 6 months.  We post cards each Wednesday.  The 2nd Wednesday of each month, we have a 'bonus' challenge to do a fun fold.  This week is the Swing Easel card

I dug into some DP that I purchased thinking it was cheery and 'Spring' themed.  I also used stamps new to me from Pretty Pink Posh.  I stamped and embossed the images with black EP. I used Zig waterbrush markers to color in the images.  The wings are colored using a Wink of Stella pen. The bees are up on dimensionals.
The sentiment is by SU and is punched using a SU oval punch.  I fussy cut out the layer behind it.

A fun challenge and a fold I had not tried before!

A couple of weeks ago, the Teapot Tuesday challenge was inspired by The Sylvia Beach Hotel.  Check it out0 a very very cool place!!!  My card was inspired by the Mark Twain room.

I made this card 5" x 7" . I used Prima and Bo Bunny DP and a Rogue Redhead image. The images were colored using Copic markers.

Under His Feathers.....

I created a card for the Teapot Tuesday challenge at Splitcoaststampers, and used the colors from the color challenge as well. The Teapot party this week if for a fellow Alpha challenge member- she lost her Mother 2 years ago and we are sending her a bug HUG!

I colored the image from Angie Blom digi Designs with Copic markers. I used a cloud stencil from A Colorful Life. The sentiment is by Our Daily Bread (Divinity Designs).  It needed a little something, so I lined the bottom cardstock with 1/4" double sided sticky tape and added Oyster glitter to the edge.

Reflecting back on our own mothers- and my memories of things she enjoyed- flowers, birds and her faith were all really important to her. To unwind, she painted porcelains and was a teacher of her art.

Happy Mother's Day to all who celebrate.  Big Hugs to those who have lost their Mom's- mine passed 12/2018. And, to all who are special to others- whether you are an Aunt, a friend, etc....  Big Hugs to you as well!

Alpha + Sketch

I combined the first Alpha challenge (round 15) at SCS (Alcohol Inks) with the current Sketch challenge.

I made the Alcohol ink background using pink and green Copic reinkers on white glossy cardstock.  I stacked green and pink cardstock and embossed them.  I added strips of sticky tape on the background and added gilding flakes.  Next, I cut a square of white cardstock and added double sided sticky tape, then added gilding flakes to that. Next, I die cut out a butterfly from that square. I used my circle punch and punched out three dots from the waste from the butterfly square of cardstock as an embellishment.

These colors are so me : )  I love pinks.  A fun creative session!
