Another card from a challenge at Splitcoaststampers.

This card is not so bent IRL.....
I had a great time creating for the watercolor challenge 1/13 ate, just freehanded the flowers- which was fun.  I enjoyed mixing colors. I learned about adding a touch of the color into the gray on the background too. The sentiment is from a sentiment strip from Simon Says Stamps.
I really am loving the painting challenges and will try to keep up with them!

Tea and Friends

I am enjoying going through unused or rarely used images and using them!  I used the Splitcoaststampers Ways to Use it challenge, and created a tea themed card : )

This image is by Technique Junkies. It is colored using Copics.  The butterfly is from a set by Jan's Digital images.
Truth be told- I drink tea all day long- first one 'leaded' and the rest unleaded......

A few challenge cards

Well, apparently I am not keeping up with blogging this week!  My stamping is charged by challenges at Splitcoaststampers again this week : )

For the color challenge, I made this card- the colors were Daffodil Delight and 2 grays from SU.  I did my best to match colors.... the DSP is from a retired SU pack from the doilies era...  and the image Graciellie Designs. I colored the image with Copics.

For the Teapot Tuesday challenge- actually from the 1/19 challenge, a card heading to a gentleman that lost his wife and mother to Covid in a short period of time.  We headed to the Orient- and I have this Washi paper from China and a dragon die (getting close to Chinese New Year.....).

This card is for the Alpha challenge O=ocean  I used a piece of card that I used UNDER an art journal page, and added Distress inks over the blobs of blue and brown....  I stenciled Blue Distress Inks over that background, then added the image from Technique Junkies.  The image is colored using Copics. The sentiment is by Simon Says Stamps.

See there, I have been creating  : )   I am sorry to be slow to get to blogs- I was asked to be on the Dirty Dozen DT at Splitcoast, and have been busy creating behind the scenes.  You have to be in the fan club to see what we create at SCS.....

Art Journal challenge

I saw an Art Journal challenge for this week given by Marjie Kemper and had to sign up!  It is a basic Mixed Media journal, but I have all of the supplies I need to join and the price was right : )

I found a sheet of bird images by Crafty Secrets in my stash and will use them as the theme of my journal.  The journal will be a sampling of techniques for me.  The background is Distress paints onto a brown paper bag. The punch at the bottom of the page is MS and the stamps are Technique Junkies.

This next page is a page from an old dictionary with added Distress inks. The bird is Crafty Secrets and the die cuts are from Ellenatinas and a sentiment by Technique Junkies.

I made this page using Distress Oxide Spray inks, added some acrylic paint for the circles and splashed with water. There is a strip of Washi tape at the bottom of the panel.  The middle image is from Crafty Secrets. The top and bottom are stamps from Technique Junkies and colored using Copics.

Key to My Heart

Jan's Digital Stamps mid-month posting is today- pop on over to the blog to see what the DT has created- and please join in the Anything Goes challenge for January!

I used images from a set called TFS Key for this card. (It is a great set, and all of the proceeds go to the Turner Syndrome Foundation).
For the card, I used the precolored images, and cut them out using the Scan and cut. The black bottom layer are strips of black cardstock, the purple is a die cut.  The black and vellum are cut using a Spellbinders heart die. The black heart has Wink of Stella applied to it.  The 2 glittery black strips are Washi tape.  There is also Wink of Stella applied to the popped up purple heart.

We hope to see you drop by Jan's Challenge Blog and link up to the January challenge!

Out of This World Birthday!

I made this card for the Alpha challenge at Splitcoaststampers.  L=Lunar.  I will send to to a lady asking for cards for kids birthdays at her church.

The background is done with Distress inks in yellow, purple and green, and then Black Soot ink applied over the top.  I splashed water over the top and added glitter and sequins.
The images are Hero Arts.  I stamped them and cut them out using the Scan & Cut. They were colored with Distress inks and Copics. Glossy Accents were added over the windows of the spaceship.

Old Age or Age Old

I am in the Alpha challenge group over at SCS, and this past week, our letter was M=masculine.

I had fun making this card, and hope the snarky sentiment gets a laugh from the recipient.  The background has stenciling in green, then I added the panel of boxers, one stamped on the paper, one stamped, cut out with the Scan n Cut, colored and added using dimensionals. A few sequins finished off the card.

The stamps are by A Stamp in the Hand, DRS

Crafters of Faith- Feathers

It's the 7th of the month, which means its time for the Crafters of Faith challenge (you guessed it, at Splitcoaststampers).
Lisa (lovinpaper) is the hostess this month, and she gave us this challenge: Scripture--Psalm 91:4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Challenge:  Use this verse to inspire your card or project.

This stamp set by Divinity Designs has the Psalm that was the challenge, so enjoyed inking it up.  I have a family of Chickadee's in my backyard, and so far they are still here in winter!  WHat a great challenge Lori!

I combined this challenge with this weeks sketch challenge as well.  The DP is by Prima.  I used a Memory Box Stitched die and the punches are Martha Stewart.

Hope and Pandora's box

The Splitcoaststampers challenge Tuesday Teapot is my favorite challenge- it speads joy and good cheer each week, and on the last week, we send cards to each other. FOr the last challenge of 2020 (12/29) , Sabrina challenged us to think of hope and use a fold type card. I made a Triple pop-up card.

I used Graphic 45 cardstock and there is no stamping on this card.  I think music is a Universal language and it brings us peace and hope- we can tune in to many styles or genres of music and find something that speaks to us!

If you are on SPlitcoast, check out the Teapot Tuesday challenges and consider sending out some joy!

Jan's Digital Stamps January '21 Challenge

In the Midwest, we finally got snow!  It is so beautiful when it is snowing.  It prompted me to create a card combining two of the digi sets at Jan's Digital Stamps.

I merged trees ( Tree Scene ) for the background, and added the sleigh ( Sleigh Ride ) in front of them.  The images are precolored and also come black and white. I used Blue Bliss SU ink and the Colorful Life cloud stencil.  I added Wink of Stella to the snow in the trees and on the ground as well. There are a couple of Gina Marie dies snowflakes added as well.

The monthly challenge at Jan's is always Anything Goes themed.  I's love to see you join us for the challenge this month!

Warm WInter WIshes

With a little time today to create, I took out some Gelli Plate backgrounds I made in November and finished a couple of them.  I checked in with the Splitcoast challenges, and the Free 4 All for today is a card of encouragement.

I used a Memory Box die and cut our a white frame and added it over the background.  I applied a die cut snowflake (Simon SAys Stamps) and a sentiment strip (also SSS).  For the Alpha challenge at SCS, I added J=Jewels/rhinestones to the snowflakes. The back cardstock is COncord/purple from SU.  The retired SU green is next- it brings out the green in the panel.  I just love this card IRL.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
