On the road crafting

Still stamping out of a carry on bag....!  I did pack with Virtual Stamp Night in mind, and packed some unused card kits as well.

I made this card for the Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoast today- Francine has a gorgeous gallery!  I made this card using a card kit from Terry Serman. I colored the image using Copics, and the background is the only think added that was not in the kit- I used a cloud stencil from A Colorful Life.

This card was made for a VSN sports themed challenge.  I made this card for my Baseball crazed husband.  He plays baseball (wood bats and uniforms- the whole sha-bang) and watches baseball too.  The image from Impression Obsession was stamped on a Spellbinder die from my Use It pile...... I added a G45 baseball image and the rest are from a sticker set (I bought at Goodwill).....

This card was made for a VSN challenge for a Beach themed card.  The image was a gift from a SCS friend- not sure of the brand.  I colored using Copics and Distress inks.

Last ,but not least, a sweet duck themed card for a VSN challenge.  The image is Bugaboo and colored using Copic markers. I used DP cut in angles for the background.  Does this card make you look forward to warmer weather???  It does for me!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Card Variety Show

Stamping out of a carry on bag and I am having a great time.  I am guessing that the RV travel bug my husband has is not sounding as bad now......  LOL

The Mix challenge this week is a technique using a sky stencil, inks and a white ink over the top. I combined the challenge with a Free 4 all challenge which was to use buildings. The die is by Sunny Studio's.  I used A Colorful Life cloud stencil, and the sentiment is by Hero Arts.

This image is by Bugaboo Digital images.  I used the Sketch challenge from SCS for this week to complete the card.  The sentiment is by Colorado Craft Co.

I am entering this into the Bugaboo- Catch the Bug BINGO challenge.
3 layers-Bugaboo image- Players choice (enamel dots)

This challenge at Splitcoast was to use a map- the Ways to use it challenge.  I used a map from a Dinosaur museum, and it shows a route- 512 miles long- for an area rich in artifacts relating to Dinosaurs. The cards are on glitter paper and the car punch is Martha Stewart.

Finally, this card is for a Virtual Stamp Night challenge at SCS- which ends 3/28.  The images are CTMH and the sentiment Unity.

Card #2 is being entered into a Cath the Bug Bingo challenge- link below the card.

Virtual Stamp Night

We are usually traveling for the Virtual Stamp Night challenges at Splitcoaststampers, so I have not joined in for a long time.  Since the pandemic, I have participated and enjoyed it so much I have joined in as a hostess. Here are a few of my cards for the 'Parks and Rec' themed VSN happening now at SCS:

Zoo Animals is Lisa's challenge (Shoe Girl).  The image is a digi by Angie Blom and I colored using Copics and Distress inks and a cloud stencil by Its a Colorful Life.

Enjoy the Ride is Misti's challenge.  I used a Sunny Studio image with a Newton's Nook sentiment. I also CASE'd a card from last week's Featured Stamper , Sandy.

This Simon Says Stamp bunny is for Lee's Sketch challenge.  Nice and CAS too!

Hope you enjoyed seeing these VSN cards! Come join in- fun prizes will be awarded too!

Virtual Stamp Night at Splitcoaststampers

With the Pandemic, I have been able to participate in the Virtual Stamp Night at SCS- aka VSN.  We always seem to be traveling when it comes around : )  I volunteered to Hostess again, the Theme is Parks and Recreation.

I chose add a moon to your card for my theme.  Gotta love Andy : )

This stamp is not marked where it is from.  I stamped it and fussy cut it out.  The background is Distress ink and put a stencil over it and wiped off the ink with a baby wipe. The sentiment is Unity Stamps.
Is it a Coyote, a wolf or a dog???  I think Coyote.....

Another Distress ink background- the die cut has a little ink added and Wink of Stella too.  The city scape die cut was in my 'use it bin', so not sure where it is from.

I die cut a 2" circle using a spellbinders die and eclipse tape. Over that, applies Distress inks. I splattered water on the background.  The tree dies were layered over the top.  This card is 4.25" x 4.25".

Finally, Santa lasso'ed the moon!  I was in a die cut exchange eons ago, and finally dug out this die and found a way to use it! The background is a Gina K DP and it was black /white, I just added Distress ink over that.  A Gina Marie edge die in white frames the card.

If you have some free time, come on over to the Virtual Stamp Night and join in!!!

Jan's Digital Stamps Mid-month

I had fun with a tutorial over at Splitcoaststampers while making this card. This is called a Pop-up flip card.

I love to see birds in nature, and enjoy in the Spring when the birds flock to the yard to my many birdfeeders!  So, this set had my name all over it!  This set is available at Jan's DIgital Stamps, and it's called using Spring Time

When you open the card, the front image flips over to the inside. I just love this design and will be trying it again!

The challenge at Jan's goes for a month- hope you will come join us!

Birthday cards and some snark : )

For a few years, I have been in a Card Kit swap through SCS.  It is my month to receive kits, so I have been working on creating with them.  I asked for adult Birthday kits.

The first card kit is from Terry Serman.  I have many more supplies I will get back to, but used the kit to make my Splitcoaststampers Sketch card for this week.  The image is by Taylored Expressions.  My family is silly and does OK with snarky cards....!

The next three cards are from Darlene's card kit. This card uses the DP and cupcake brads from the kit, and I added a sentiment from Create with TLC that was punched out using a SU oval punch.

More of the metallic DP from the kit was used in the background here, and the teal metallic cardstock is from my stash.  A CC Designs die was used to cut out the sentiment.  I think when you get to the point the sentiment points to, it is called-no filter : )

Another Riley and Co. sentiment which is cut out using a Gina Marie die. I used 2 colors of the metallic DP and cut them in 1/2" strips, and flip flopped the direction of the stripes.

I am now focusing on the Virtual Stamp Night challenge cards- that is Friday 3/19 and Saturday 3/20 at Splitcoaststampers.

Art Journal samples

About a month ago, I posted pages of an Art Journal I was working on.  Marjie Kemper had an online class last month, and since I already have most of the supplies, or have substitutes, I thought it would be fun.

I used images from Crafty Secrets- most are in the theme of birds : )  Since this is a sample, I am using what I have and I do love birds!!!

The page on the Lt is a brown paper bag, the 2nd on chipboard, on the Rt black cardstock and a torn dictionary page.  Images by Crafty Secrets and Technique Junkies.

The Lt page uses an older TH die- love the bird in the cage, and the center uses Flourishes by Cheery Lynn and triangle images by Technique Junkies,  The far Rt, a face page embellished using Distress inks and stencils, and Copic coloring.

Ohhh, Washi tape over ugly DP...LOL  I added musical birds so needed a musical score : )   And, finally, a fun technique where we made a colorful page and die cut flowers from it.

Something different and fun too!!!

Spring is a coming!!!

Spring is a coming! YAhoo- the Pinks and pastels come out and make for non-winter themed cards-yeah!!!

This little cutie is by CC Designs, colored using Copics.  The die is Gina Marie and the DP is The Paper Studio.

This image was in my Use it pile, it was embossed and the flowers already colored.  I just added a touch of watercolor to the bird and the leaves and the blue in the back, and die cut it, and added a strip of DP and done.  This is Cameo Coral DP- retired SU cardstock.

This image by Northwoods was stamped already and I just colored it in using Copics.  I googles and saw that yes, there are red Morning glories (although they are rare) as my card was to be red themed.  The background was in my technique box-just dry embossed and a Hero Arts sentiment I had already stamped added.  I sure love hummingbirds!

Another image in my Use it Box....  This is a digi by Create with TLC.  I added Color using Copics. There was a 2nd image that was a touch bent up, so I fussy cut out the butterfly and popped it up.  The background is a technique from my box waiting to be used up- quick and easy!

Hope you are having a great week and staying well!
