Sip it!

The Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoast- was Rebekah.  She had a card I had to case!  It is not the same image....

My mother bought this image when we on a road trip to Wisconsin.  The image is Whipper Snapper, and the sentiment is MFT. She thought these two reminded her of the early days ot their dating and marriage, when dad would wear a bow tie : )

I colored the image with Copics. I used purple, as it was her favorite color.  The cardstock and DP are from the Netherlands. The sequins are from Unity.

My Mom would make coffee, and sip it all day long.  It would get cold and we would have to put the cup in the microwave on/off all day long.

Crazy 4 Challenges- include a drink

Gelli Print play

I have a drawer full of acrylic paint and 2 Gelli plates- one card sized and one larger.  I don't use it too often, and it is not too difficult to take it out and play with it. So, when I saw the rubber band challenge at SCS in the Ways to Use it challenge, I took it out. Marilyn, one of the sample makers for the challenge, used a Gelli plate and a brayer with rubber bands on it for her sample, so I was inspired!

I used fall colors on this one- reds, orange, yellows and this is how it turned out.  I trimmed it down and chose this fall leaf stamp by Unity Stamps.  I embossed the image using black fine detail embossing powder. I colored in the image with Distress Ink markers. There is a touch of shimmer in one of the paints I used, so there is a nice sheen on the background.

This is another Gelli print, more orange than reddish. I thought this fun ghost mice image from Great Impressions would be fun on the background. A strip of Washi across the bottom, some sequins and a little stitch border by Hero Arts finishes the card.

Hope you had a great weekend!!!

Challenges :
Love to Create- Mixed Media
Gem of a Craft- AG

Stella Says Sketch and CYS

Its time for Stella Says Sketch challenge at Bugaboo - Catch the Bug Challenge Blog and for the Create Your Stash challenge. For the CYS-Challenge Your stash challenge: September - Suzy - SuzyS1104 CYSSEP
~~We have Choices--Get Well, Hope you are feeling better, Thinking of You, Hope recovery is going well. Pick one of these!

I used a digital image from Bugaboo that I have never used before- but love it!  And, DSP from Bo Bunny that I have in my stash drawer.  I do not usually go for these colors, but I think that the colors look OK together- what do you think?

You can find the CYS group at Splitcoaststampers.com/forums/swaps/cards/closed/Challenge Your Stash.  Even though the challenge is in a 'Closed' area, it IS open for new members.  We are using supplies in our stash that are 'unused' for a while!!!

Bugaboo Tip day

I made a card using a fun school bus image from Bugaboo:

I think the rhinestones would look better yellow, but I do not have yellow rhinestones in my stash.

Just add some color using any Alcohol Ink marker- like a Copic or a Sharpie. What do you think- looks a bit better, don't you think? I used the same Yellow marker I used to color the school bus image, Kidz School Bus.

Cruising by!

I had a little stamping time today, so looked up the Splitcoast Featured Stamper gallery.  It is Jan Tink today!

Jan had made a B-day card using a stamp with a crowd of pups.  I decided to change it up a bit- and used some trees in the background and added the fun car of animals in the Sunny Studio set Cruising Critters.   I colored the image with Copics- I sure do love to color : )

While cleaning and sorting my stamping room, so many images are never used!  So, I am trying to do challenges and use images that need to meet ink!

Stamping for Splitcoast challenges!

I am working on that sale still, and distracted by sorting and finding images and stamps...LOL
I made a couple of cards to share.

This is for the Alphabet challenge- Letter L on Splitcoast.  I used this lighthouse and made a card imagining I was up in Door County in Wisconsin- Heaven!!!  I just added Distress Inks across the sky and added sand and of course the lighthouse.
  Images from Gina K Designs.

And this is for the Ways to Use it Challenge- things with Wings.  I made the background with Distress inks and Distress Oxide inks.  I used a stencil and three colors of distress ink- drying over each application.  The hybiscis and hummingbird were colored with Copic markers.

Bugaboo- Oldie

I looked in on the Teapot Tuesday challenge over at Splitcoast, and they are asking for cards for kids in the hospital.  One of the suggestions was teddy bears.  SO, I used some great 'Oldie but Good' digi's from Bugaboo and made this card!

I made this group of Teddy Bears on a colorful background DP, then desiced to add the balloons topper as well.  I think this is a unisex card that could be used for a girl or a boy, and I am thinking Birthday, Celebrating Chemo is over, Platelet count is up....whatever!!!
I will be going through my stash and will send more cards OR making more- what a great cause!!!

Stencil Smooshing

A quick card made for the Technique challenge at SCS, and an added challenge- make it CAS (Which I stink at.....).

This image is in my "Should it stay or should it go" pile.......  I thought I'd ink it up and give it a look.  It is by Inkadinkado.  The background is called Stencil Smooshing and is the technique challenge at SCS today.  There is a great video showing how it is done.  I went light handed at it, but will try it again.  The stencils are done in Honey, Green and rust Distress inks. The image is colored with Distress Markers. I had to add a twine bow.......could not leave it plain! The sentiment is stamped in Rust Distress Ink, it is by Sunny Studios Stamps.

Dueling Darlings-Baby Safety Month

For the Dueling Darlings September post, Donna (Dazzlers) and Judy (Divas) have chosen the theme, "Baby Safety".

I need a baby girl card, so this was perfect!  The papers in the kit were multicolored except the one with the pink or blue feet for a Boy or a Girl card. I very lightly colored the onsie- leaving it white it was way too stark!  I also added DP to the inside, the balloon pups : )

The kit that Donna sent contains:
Image- Gina K Wee Tees
Ink- Gina K Amalgam ink
Cardstock- Neenah Solar White
Sentiment -Hero ArtsDP- Paper Studio
Embellishments- Paper Studio La Petites Baby Girl Glitter Foam, Recollections multicolored rhinestones.

I love visiting the blogs of my fellow DDD's to see what they create- Dazzlers use one kit, Divas another but with the same theme! Here are the links to blogs and SCS galleries to see all of the fun cards!

Alphabet challenge at SCS-M

While I was participating in the DTGD challenge at Splitcoast, a couple of the ladies encouraged me to join in a fun Alphabet challenge, also on SCS. A new round is just beginning and the first letter is M.

M= Masculine birthday,  I used a blue, yellow, red and purple Distress Oxide ink for the background.  I spritzed a stencil with water, placed it on the surface and covered the stencil with a paper towel.  Next, lifted the paper towel and the stencil and let the panel dry.
Once dry, I stamped the image of the 4 boxer shorts on the bottom, then lined up the sentiment by DRS stamps (circa 2000) and embossed it with fine detail black EP.  Next, I stamped the individual shorts using Distress Oxide inks and fussy cut them and glued them onto the panel.

Challenges-

Fall colors

Some of the leaves are beginning to turn colors here- the tips of the leaves....  I love the fall colors, but what comes next- COLD!!!  LOL  I saw on Splitcoast a challenge to use a large stamp and fall colors.

This stamp is by Unity- it is called Abundant Blessings and is a Sentiment kit.  Colored mostly with Copics.

This is the same card before splatters:

What a difference they make, don;t you think???

And- sunglasses please!!!  This is my first Fall colors card:
This is in my stamp stash- which I am deeply sorting.  I colored it using Zig waterbrush markers in fall colors.  I tried to soften the color by highlighting the back embossing with ink, but no such luck.  I am going to keep the stamp : )  Embossing Arts images have been sold to I Brake for Stamps. I have many of them!

Challenges:
QKR Stampede- AG
Cute Card Tuesday- Autumn

Bugaboo- ABAC

Today, it is ABAC day at Bugaboo= Anything But a Card. I made a wine bottle tag.

My sister brought me a bottle of white wine, which I rarely drink. So, she said, use it in cooking then!  So, I loved this tag and will keep it on this bottle of white until it gets used or until we have company : )

  LOL, what she said!!!

Hope you enjoyed my tag!

Oriental Peace

I was fortunate enough to visit Hetty in this Netherlands in July, and during the visit, I was gifted a pre-printed Geisha image.

I used the Featured stamper gallery as inspiration, I used the same sketch (as it was not a card from the sketch challenge) and changed the theme and papers. The Kanji is from About Art Accents/Art Neko.

While sorting in my crafting space, and attempting to organize Kanji stamps that were in a bag- I will not use them unless I can see them- well, I got distracted and had to make a card with the Geisha image.

Bravo, now I should probaby get back to work on sorting and organizing!!!

Autumn Spendor CASE

I CASE'D this card named Autumn Splendor for the Featured Stamper post on SCS today.

So hard to photograph!!!

The leaves (Impression Obsession) were stamped on Wasabi Green cardstock and embossed using Copper EP.  The smaller leaves (SU) were stamped in Wasabi ink on White cardstock, then overstamped with Versamark and some of the Copper EP flicked off and heat embossed.
I put Wasabi ink on a dimensional embossing folder and it is embedded into the background of the leaf impression.  I added Copper EP (SU) on the edges of the white panel.
I changed the layout and added one more small leaf.  There are also a few dimensionals on the edges of a few areas of the larger leaves, so they are not laying totally flat.

COF- Thankful

September 2019 Hostess: Jeanette

Scripture: All things were created through him, and apart from him not one thing was created that has been created. (John 1:3, CSV)

Challenge: Include something on your card (or other project) that you are especially thankful that God created.

I so love flowers! However, they make me sneeze and have asthma, so I prefer coloring them and admiring them on cardstock!!!  They do, however, remind me of my Mother who was a master gardener. She would make flowers come alive!!!

PSX was one of the first lines of stamps I was introduced to, and wanted to be able to make samples like the ones I saw in the store!  In those days, there were No Copic markers : )  Before I began this card, I saw the Inspiration challenge at Splitcoast, and decided to combine the challenges.  I used MME DP for the background and a retired by coveted sentiment from Sweet n Sassy Stamps. Just a touch of Twine and the card is good to go!

Challenges TBA

A Little Pick-up

I am sorting for a sale- this set is from 2004- I guess you are supposed to hold each item and ask-Does this bring you Joy..... I will not get anywhere if I ask myself that! LOL

My Brother had to quit smoking for a huge surgery on his ankle in October- they are going to try to fuse it, but he may need an amputation. I made this for him. I put a little pick up truck die cut on the inside of the card : )

The image is Stampin Up Loads of Love and there is an accessory set too. (The pups and the lady driver),  I colored with Copic markers.  The image is cut using Memory Box Stitched circle die. The DP is My Minds Eye World Traveler.

I used the Sketch challenge at Splitcoast.  I also used the Way to Use it challenge at Splitcoast- something that uses gas.
