Digi Mojo fun and a Tutorial

  I had a Mojolicious day today- very relaxed and no pressures to finish anything by a certain time- it was delightful!
 First, I was inspired by the Mojo Monday Sketch for the week:

 Here is what I created:

   The image is a freebie from McMahon Five Designs and is just one in a series of monthly awareness releases-grab it from the link on the top right in my sidebar.
  Purple is awareness for:
 Domestic violence, Pancreatic Cancer, Animal abuse, Overdose Prevention, Eating Disorder Awareness, Alzheimers, Chron's Disease, Cystic Fibrosis, Epilepsy, Huntington's Disease, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Arnold-Chiari Malformation, Religious tolerance, Homelessness, Victims of 9/11, Macular Degeneration, ADD and ADHD, Sarcoidosis, GI Cancer, Thyroid cancer, Ulcerative Colitis,Wildland Firefighters.
  I decided to go with the circle- and wanted to make a larger card, larger than the Nestabilities I have.  So, I used the lid from a Gatorade mix , traced around it and cut it out.

  I cut the circle a little smaller than the lid- so I would have room for the scallop border I am going to make. 

  Now, I measure around the outside of the circle to see how long the border I am going to punch out needs to be to fit around the circle.  It will vary depending on the circle size.
   Next, I score the back/card stock down the middle and fold it in half.  I place the patterned paper on it and cut it out- be careful to leave an area at the top ~ an inch or so on the fold- that is the top of the card.

 

 This is the circle cut out and opened up flat.

   Next, I cut the card stock to punch out for the edge. The edge is punched out- a real wide punch will not work.  Snip/cut little triangles from the inside edge and form around the edge of the circle. Apply adhesive along the edge of the circle working about 2 inches at a time.
 When you start applying the strip- consider starting at about where '8' on a clock face is.  When you look at something, your eye goes up and to the left- so you want to avoid starting/stopping the strip in the upper left where your eye will detect it.

   This is the back of the patterned paper panel with my punched strip applied.

And this is how it looks from the front.  Now, tape this panel to the white cardstock you have just cut out and embellish.
