Pup Instructions

I saw a sweet image while browsing at Newton's Nook- and thought of my eldest daughter.  She has a pup (aka our grandpup) and is an avid reader......

 Isn't this adorable?  This image is Puppy's Reading, and the dog bones and pup paws are from the set Say Woof. The set has a number of sentiments to add as the book title : )

Stamping Fun

Some stamping from last week. First, a card for a gentleman that just found out he has colon cancer- via the Teapot Tuesday challenge at Splitcoast. 

The images are Newtons Nook. The inking is all done using Distress inks. I do not have a sun die, but do have one for First Communion, so I die cut that and added a punched circle in the center. 

 This sweet card was made for a baby shower. The image is by House Mouse. It was colored using Copic markers.  I am entering it, last minute, at the House Mouse and Friends Challenge.

Classy Card Ladies- Pumpkins

 We had fun creating with a card kit from Tracie (pearls) and Barb sent kits to her team (diamonds) with the theme of pumpkins. 

  

The image is from Newton's Nook, and I colored it using Copic markers. The pumpkins are Memory Box. I added a small line of shimmery Washi at the base of this card in copper/almost pumpkin. 

 I pulled out another die from the market in the Netherlands- I had enough ribbon in the kit to weave it through and make a small ribbon embellishment too. The image was fussy cut, colored using Copics and added to the die cut.  The DP Tracie sent is by Prima.

Beach and sunflowers : )

 Making cards for DTGD still, so this is why the themes of my cards are so different : )

I made this for my Beach/Sun loving daughter : )  I used a fun new stamp set that I bought from Newton's Nook. I sponged on SU inks using a post it note so I could enter the 'stripes' challenge- my first time entering a challenge at Newtons Nook Inky Paws challenge. 

This next card uses a stamp that has not seen ink for a while- and it is by Great Impressions.  I used Zig water brushes to color the image.  The DP is Paper Studios. I added ribbon and lace and love the look.

Let's Chill

I challenged myself to make a CAS card yesterday- not my usual style and so HARD!!!  I also wanted to try the technique from Virtual Stamp night (Splitcoaststampers) to add a shadow to my card from the image.  

Thsi image is by Power Poppy and is colored using Copic markers. The 110# cardstock is inked using Soft Sky and a light touch of Marina Mist SU inks. I spritzed with DYlusions shimmer spray, and that made it all run and gave it a watercolor effect. I added more ink to the areas that needed it.  The three trees (Newton's Nook) are stamped using Wild Wasabi ink (SU) and stamped off once so it would give a more muted look. Snowflakes were added from Gina Marie, and the Slimline die is also Gina Marie. 

Have a great day- we had snow flurries this morning, but not enough to amount to anything!

Love your More

 There was a tutorial on Splitcoast last week for double embossing and it used a stencil, Versamark and EP.  Each time you make a technique, it makes 2 sheets of backgrounds for you to use. I combined one of my backgrounds with the Sketch challenge for this past week on Splitcoast, and made this card.

 This image is from Newton's Nook.  The image was stamped using Black Tuxedo Memento ink.  The bamboo stencil is embossed and I used two green Distress inks over the card and embossing, then used a cloth over the embossing to remove any ink.  I used the leftover piece from the front panel inside the card.

Wanted!

I am trying to catch up with cards I am making for an Alpha challenge at SCS.  P=Polka Dots

 I recently discovered Newton's Nook images through the Dueling Darlings group (at SCS). Tracie uses these stamps and we had a kit with one,....  and I had to go look and ended up buying some : )  With a little Grandson (10 months now), I picked up this set which I know I will use a lot!
 I opened my 6x6 DP storage drawer, and this Polka Dot piece was right there, so stamped and colored the image, then added the sentiments in brown ink.  I distressed the edge of the Choc Chip layer and called it a day!  Nice and flat for mailing too.

Snowy and Smooth Alcohol inks!

I made this for a VSN challenge, but did not get it posted in time...... 

 I had a background using Alcohol inks that I swiped across the page- found the technique from a Jennifer McGuire tutorial.  How fun it was to play and create!  You have to be very very careful IF you use Yupo paper and try to emboss on it, as it is plastic and melts quite easily.  The sentiment is from Newtons Nook.

We visited my son and DIl in Colorado for our family Christmas.  He is way out on the Western slope (more deserty weather), and each time we have come for Christmas, it snows here!  LOL  Usually, when it snows here it melts quickly- well....not when we visit!  WOw- the scenery is stunning covered in snow!!!

  My DD2 is on the far left- she lives in Fairfax Virginia, and is studying for her Phd in environmental sciences.  Next, my DD1, she has her Masters degree in Education and teaches in Chicago- social studies.  Next, my DIL is a teacher- 3rd grade this year.  She is holding my Grandson- first Grand on either side of the family!  My son has a nursing degree- just this year- in college he studied outdoor rec, but went on for another degree. 

 Here is a pic with hubby and I with the three kids. The DD! on the far left and our son on the far Rt are twins : )

Life Been a Zoo???

I hope you have recovered from your festivities-if they are over....we are beginning a week in Colorado with my kids for our family Christmas- life is good!

 When my siblings gathered, a few from out of town went to the zoo with my sister and I tagged along.  It took us 3 hours to get 20 minutes from where she lived!  But, we saw the zoo lights at Brookfield Zoo and had a fun time with family.
  I am going to send this to one of them.....not sure who yet.....

Dueling Darlings- Fall

We are Dueling- as it is the 15th of the month!!!  The hostesses for this month are Tracie for the Dazzlers and Barb for the Divas.  We are celebrating Fall!

 Tracie sent us a fun kit with this adorable image from Newtons Nook. I colored it with Copics.  It is layered over a scrap of paper that has Pumpkin Pie ink  that was stamped onto the non-stick pad and spritzed.  I did dry the paper between layers of ink.

DTGD day 5

I have been stamping away- having fun and using so many forgotten stamps!!!

First, I made a card using the Bugaboo Friday Freebie for this week!  I always love Stella!!!

LOL, she always cracks me up!!! I just colored with Copics and added twine and enamel dots.

 I made a fun card using some flowers I had cut out with the Scan and Cut.  Colored with Copics.  It has been a while since I made a card like this- fun! Images all Stampin Up. These images have been sitting unused until recently.  It's the 2nd card made with this set for DTGD.

 Here is a fun Asian card- I just bought these Panda's from Newtons Nook and had a blast putting this scene together.

Aren't they adorable?  I used some asian dies- I have these all on magnetic sheets and did not save the out packages, so no idea who makes them.........

 I am entering this Z fold card in the Aud Sentiment challenge and in the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies challenges.

 I had fun creating this card as well- I used Distress Oxides on the background in fun light summery colors.

and finally, a cool weather card using a new stamp given to me earlier this week- I put this card together using 2 Great Impressions stamps and Stampin Up for the sentiment.

 I am entering this card in the Craft Rocket AG challenge.

 The snowflakes are embossed with Stardust EP which is shimmery, and the tree is paper pieced.

Dueling Darlings-"Love Your Pet Day"

It's the 15th of the month, and that means its time for the Dueling Darlings!  Our hostesses for this month are Tracie (Dazzlers) and Bard (Divas).  Tracie sent us the cutest images and kit!

 This fun image and sentiment (also the balls) are from Newton's Nook Designs (Fetching Friendship).  The dog and ball are colored with Copic markers. Tracie stamped the images on Neenah Classic Crest cardstock using Gina K amalgam ink. The DP is by Authentique (Companions).  The ribbon and brads are from her stash.

 This is Sir Theo the dog, who has attached himself to my husband. My husband is trying to sit down and the dog hopped up and made himself at home.....  If I am playing with the dog and my husband walks by, he takes off and follows him.......

 The dog, Sir Theo the pup, was at our house last weekend.  I was trying to teach him drop.  It worked well as long as I had a treat for him.  If not...no dice....(he likes to play and wrestle you for the ball or toy).   But, alas, a Granddog- he goes home after a bit of time...until next time Sir Theo.
  Sir Theo the Pup has an Instagram page HERE.  His breed is called Black Mouth Cur and he was a rescue- as a pup, my daughter is his 3rd owner. He is very active and playful, but not growly at other dogs or people, so not sure why he was taken back- a little seperation anxiety, but, as I mentioned, he attaches himself to someone (my husband when my daughter is not around) and he is OK.

Tuesday Throwdown Crazy Circles

Whoops- dealing with some back issues and did not publish my Tuesday Throwdown post....  We are creating with the theme of Crazy Circles this week, and our sponsor is Newtons Nook!  It is my first time creating with their stamps, and I had so much fun!


Yep, I had so much fun, I made two cards!

 I used the stamp set Whispering Pines  I used Daniel Smith watercolors to create the background, then added circles with an ancient circle set by SU in Not Quite Navy ink.  I also added snowflakes with white in from Gina K Designs. I just love the pup and the cat images in the set.
  There is shimmer on the bottom of the card to mimic snow.  Doesn't this look like a beautiful peaceful setting!  Or a place where the guys would go to hunt in the winter?

Stella Says Sketch

I think my favorite challenges are Sketch Challenges!  So, I had to make up a card with the Stella Says Sketch challenge 617.

 I had fun with this cute image- it is easy to color!  I added clouds in the sky and shimmer to the snowflakes with Wink of Stella .  The snowflakes are shimmery cardstock and punched with a Martha Stewart punch, then adorned with layered sequins. The sentiment is from Newton's Nook. The die I used is fom my stash- I did not label it, so no clue where it is from.....  The DP is MME- from a few years ago : )
