Falliday cards and projects

I have been working on Christmas projects and inspired by Splitcoasr Falliday challenges.

This background is called Alcohol Ink marbling.  It was a TLC-technique lovers challenge at SCS a couple of weeks ago.  I came across this image in my 'Use it' stash, and thought the two worked beautifully together.
The Image is Fred She Said. I embissed the background in an EF and added the beautiful bias tape ribbon.

This is a pair of Gift card holders.  This was inspired by the Featured Stamper last week. The DP is Echo Park. I made the template and sized it to fit into the A2 envelope. That stitching is on my machine.  The border punch is MS and the to/From tag is SU oval and scalloped oval punches.

These cute little snowmen are usually made with candy , Chocolate 'nuggets'.  Since we do not have candy in the house, I used wine corks.  The tutorial is on Splitcoast. The hats are made using the cut off fingers from a childs knit glove. The poms were made using DMC thread and silver metallic thread.

I hope your holiday plans are going well- tree up yet (mine is not).

Holiday Blessings to you!

Tuesday Throwdown- Sketch

For the Tuesday Throwdown challenge this week, we are creating using a sketch.

I created a card using the image Rosie with a Flower from our sponsor, Fred She Said.

The image is colored with Copic markers. I texturized the fur with a hand towel and Copic colorless blender. If you prefer, the image also comes pre-colored. I added dots to surrounding the pup with BG00 and BG02 Copic markers. The DP I used is Gina K and the Turquoise cardstock is SU.

We'd love to have you join us for the challenge!  And, you may like to check out the other DT samples of the Sketch cards as well. You can find the challenge and DT cards Here!

Lantern Card

I joined a mingle 1-4-1 with the theme lantern.

I came across this digi lantern background in my files, and it so reminds me of 'lantern street' in Beijing. I have no idea where I found it at. The Kanji is also unknown  The little girl and the flowers are by Fred She said.
On the top and bottom of the card, I added Washi Tape.

Tuesday Throwdown- #198- Masculine with Fred She Said

The cat's out of the bag!  I am officially a part of the Tuesday Throwdown crew- I post every other week on Team "B". I am thrilled and nervous at the same time!

Our challenge this week is 'Masculine' and is Sponsored by Fred She Said.

This sweet image is Nolan & the Bullfrog from Fred She Said. It comes precolored, which makes putting a card together a snap!  The sentiment is from a set called Uplifting Sentiments, and comes perfectly sized- I print out the entire sheet. All I had to do to complete the card was to add SU DSP, a strip of embossed cardstock and some twine and a button. I had to add some stitching to the edges too.... and added a little jewel.

I will be updating my sidebar tomorrow with the Tuesday Throwdown Teams- please stop by the challenge blog and see what my talented teammates have created!

Challenges:
Craft Your Passion- For the Boys
Make my Monday- Male themed
Ohh la la- For a Man/Boy
Pink Elephant- Father's Day
One Stitch at a Time- Use a Digi

Creative Belli Challenge #132- Anything Winter or Christmas

For the Creative Belli Challenge this week, the challenge is to use anything Winter or Christmas themed.

And since I am still in need of Christmas cards....I created one more!  I was inspired last year by a Belli team member, Darsi,  that designed for Fred She Said and she makes the most gorgeous cards!!!  I love the images and have quite a few of them sitting in a computer file...unused.....!
The spirit of the Belli challenges is to encourage you to use your OLD and FORGOTTEN embellishments!
I am using the Christmas Rose pre-colored stamp set from Fred She Said on Cryogen White cardstock. I tried something new- to cut out the image- I used Spellbinders Labels 9 die and just cranked the end of the die into the Cuttlebug....on each end- I do not think I have ever used this die before...... The middle portion was cut freehand. I cut out black cardstock behind the Labels 9 shape and then added Fleur De Lis corners behind that.  The sentiment is also from FFS and I used some gold findings given to me by a friend and added pearls on top of them.
Be sure to stop by the Creative Belli Blog to see what the other Belli Girls made for you today....they are such a talented group and I am so humbled to be part of the team.  you upload a card to Splitcoast, PCP, Stamp TV or another online gallery be sure to add CBC132 in the keywords section.

Lots of ATC’s

The ATC group I am a part of met for a Holiday gathering today. We had a great time.
I have Lots of ATC’s to share today
AOOZsidestepATC
First I want to share the ATC I made for the 1-4-1 share we do each month (over and above the 12 we make to swap).  ON the Fun with ATC’s blog- the challenge is a side step ATC- I used my Artistic Outpost OZ set again and a yellow TJ background for the shimmery Stair Step color.  The images were all colored with Copics and the Rt side has Soft Sky sponged on-does not show too well in my photo.  (The bike is AO also from another set).  There is a link on the Fun with ATC site for the dimensions to make this.
Next is my ATC for the swap- I used a Fred She Said colored digital image.  The background is embossed with the Swiss Dots folder- I think it mimics snow…..

Finally- we have the option when swapping to choose an ATC from any prior swap as well- Michelle had gorgeous Holiday ATC’s, but I choose to pick a prior ATC that is truly gorgeous:

The fish is on Acetate, colored with pearl pens. There is a dimensional that pops up the fish and the BG looks like it is underwater- there are fibers inside and the back of the acetate has stickles or glitter on it.  Way cool IRL!
Next are my Recycle ATC’s that I rec’d

Bloggers Challenge-Ornament

For our Bloggers Challenge this week, our group  ‘Mom’ Lisa challenged us with the theme ornament(s).  I chose to make cards, as once again I have put off making holiday cards…..

I used my new ornament digi from Fred She Says Digitals. I colored the ornament with Copic Spica Pens and the foilage is colored with Copic Markers. I added a dot of White Gel Pen to accent the berries.
I used Basic Grey Figgy Pudding DSP and added a strip of blue ‘Instant Crackle’  from a previous Technique Junkies newsletter done with a little shimmery Radiant Pearls that has been punched out with a MS edge punch.  I added sewing around the edge and some rhinestones for bling.

The second card is done with a TJ technique using Pearl-ex Reflux Violet.  My husband is not fond of the Purple- but I love it!   I added a little grey ribbon organdy gathered in a Zig-Zag pattern.

HERE is the link to stop by the other Bloggers Challenge players blogs to see their interpretation of an ORNAMENT .

Gathering ribbon in a Zig Zig:
I used 5/8” ribbon for this card.  Start on one end with a needle and thread to match the ribbon color.  I used my thread doubled.  Secure your thread end (Knot thread and secure it on the end of the ribbon- I folded this ribbon under so the raw edge is sewn under ~ 3/8 inch).

Make stitches as shown by the dotted lines in a Zig-Zag pattern . The farther apart you make your Zigs and Zags, the wider the ruffle will be when gathered.  (Grosgrain is thicker and will result in wider ruffles). You may want to secure one end when you start to pull the thread to gather the ribbon, as it will want to twist.  I gather the ribbon as I go and cut off the ribbon when I am satisfied with how the ruffled ribbon looks.
You can sew the ribbon down by machine, or use sticky tape to attach it to your project.  If you use an ATC gun or a glue glider pro, take it and run ~ 3/8”-1/2” on a scrap cardstock, and roll it up into a little glue dot ball and use that to attach the ribbon anywhere you want it to lay flat- that is what I did on the either side of the card with the ends of the ribbon.

Ai Foil for the Featured Stamper Challenge at SCS

I love to try to make a card to CASE the Featured Stamper on Splitcoaststampers each Sunday....does not always happen, but I love it when it does!

This Sunday, the Featured Stamper is joanne or jojot. I picked this card from her gallery- and then was to change three things. First, no DP- I made a BG called Ai Foil from the TJ newsletter. No punches in the corners, no pearls or brads- just added piercing. I colored the image with Copic markers- the image is a free digi download from this site (If you have trouble finding it- look around July 24-27th) and I originally found it on SCS when another papercrafter uploaded a card using it. I need alot of practice with the digi images to figure out how to resize them and make them larger or smaller.
The last time we needed new printer ink. I went to a 'cartridge refill' store. The color of the printing has a green hue to it after I print an image or two, so it is hard to also figure out how to not print in the middle of a page when I print just one or two images.....- lots to learn....but I guess I have a lot to learn to catch up with modern technology.
One more thing I found this morning while looking for digital image info this post on Free Vintage Digital images every Tuesday Now these look outstanding, don't they???

I would love to know what sites or sources you use for digital images!

Thanks for stopping by,
Shelly

PS I am going to send this card to my Technique Junkie swap card partner for August. We have a Just One swap, where we have a partner and I send her a card and she sends me one. It is optional and I would guess about 40-50 ladies participate each month. It is a fun way to see not only beautiful cards, but have a first hand look at techniques from the TJ newsletter. Oh, if you are interested or curious, Here is a link for the site- if you go there and get hooked...don't blame me!!
