Mom

The Outlawz has a Progressive Freebie offered once a month.  For April, we got a digi for Mom: )

The image is by SheepskiDesigns. The image is colored with Copics. The Prima flowers (very, very old from my stash) started out an off white shade, and I added color using the Copics I used on the flowers. I added clear Stickles to the flowers and the edge of the die cut for a touch of shimmer. I added twine through the header of the lace and some pearls to finish off this card.I used DP from Paper Studios called Country Road.

Challenges:
A Vintage Journey- Spring is in the Air
Just Add Ink- Color challenge
DL Art Thursday- Mother's Day
Double D's- April showers, May Flowers
Simon Says Stamp- AG
Tuesday Throwdown-AG

Fully Bloomin'

I made a card for the progressive challenge at From the Heart Digi Stamps.
I printed the image twice, and colored the image and fussy cut and layered in 4 different areas plus the butterfly. For me, it was a lesson in moving digi images around in a word program.
I had a little trouble with the 'new' black ink cartridge in the printer- it smeared the ink a tad- first time this has ever happened to me.....

From the Heart Digi Progressive challenge is HERE. I fussy cut 4 areas of the flowers (including the center of the flower), and the butterfly- so will enter the fussy cutting challenge at Time Out challenges

For A Friend

I have made some wonderful friends in Blogland, and I made this for a special friend that is in need of a {HUG} right now.

I love this CAS card- and made another adding sparkle with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen (Stardust). The digi is Bugaboo, the image is colored with Copics. The dark purple and the lighter purple cardstock are both SU.

I kind of like the first one with no sparkle the best.

I am going to enter the challenge at Catch the Bug, which is a color challenge. Creative Card Crew wants to see embossing. AT the Outlawz, there is a CAS challenge with the theme of Thinking of You.

Michael Strong OCAM

OCAM means One Card A Month, and it is a group I joined in the Michael Strong Yahoo Group.  I seem to enjoy this line of stamps and want them all, but have not used all of the ones I already have.

I am not allowing myself to purchase any more until I have used the ones I already have...... And it gives me ideas how to use some of the stamps I already have....... : )  For April, we were also given a color challenge, so the colors you see are it : )

Here is the card I received:
From Kathy H- also using the color challenge. This is very sparkly IRL : )

I also rec'd 2 RAKs from the group this month- a Sympathy card from Laura H

And, a fun RAK from Hetty:

The Dueling Darlings- Spring

Its that time again for the Dueling Darlings- Spring theme

I used a sketch-Tuesday Morning Sketches for this card. I colored the sweet image with Copics and added some shimmer with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen. I am going to enter this into the Double D challenge- Yellow is the color and I used flowers. Also, Chocolate, Coffee and Cards wants Polka Dots : )  Simon Says Stamp Wed challenge is Polka : )

I had to create another:

For this card, I used a sketch from the Outlawz -Wednesday Sketch Challenge. I colored the sweet image with Copics and added some shimmer with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen.

Terry's kit included the following items:

Images: Somebunny to Love (received in a magazine issue of Quick Cards Made Easy from the UK)
Sentiment: Stampin' UP! Easter Blossoms
Designer Paper: Echo Park "Spring"
Embellishments: Prima Flowers, Fawn Lawn Twine, and Jillibean Soup Sequins

The Dueling Darlings are a group on Splitcoaststampers. We are divided up into the Divas and the Dazzlers. Each group receives a kit, and we all create with a like theme.  Then, we hop to each others blogs to see what everyone has created. The links are on my sidebar- stop on by and see how the other ladies interpreted the theme : )

Dragonfly ATC's

I joined a monthly 1-4-1 ATC swap with the Oriental Stamp Art Yahoo group.  The theme for March was dragonflies:
I used Distress ink or the background, added Kanji in Grey, Stamped and embossed the dragonflies and painted in the centers with Inka Gold. The Gold Iridescent EP for the top dragonfly is accented with a gold strip under the dry embossed floral strip. The Stamps are from About Art Accents.

Here is the ATC I recieved from Peg K:

I am hoping to get some stamping time in this week.  We are looking forward to a fun weekend with a Cubs game next Saturday : )

Faux SIlk Spotlight

Still catching up..... I made a card or two for a Faux Silk mingle

I used a (retired) SU image, stamped on the cardstock, then on tissue paper. I had the idea to try a spotlight technique, so punched out the bird, added a scalloped circle to make it pop. The background is also stamped on tissue paper.  I colored in the image by making a post it note stencil and sponging in the color.

I made a second one where the spotlight is the only faux Silk area
I added some inking and light stamping on the background.  What do you think???

This is the card I received from Debbie V in exchange:

Flower ATC

I am catching up on posting.... this is from a swap in the Oriental Stamp Art Yahoo group. Our ATC swap theme was flowers.
I used an UFO- UN-identified background technique sheet from the Technique Junkies- it is very, very shimmery!  I stamped this pretty floral image from About Art Accents on the technique sheet and again on a blank white sheet.  I colored the white sheet with Copics, the fussy cut out the flowers and layered them on.

This is the ATC I received back (from Linda I) :
