CYS December
It's our final month of 2020 for the Create Your Stash (aka CYS) challenge at Splitcoaststampers. This month, our hostess for the challenge is Suzy S and here is her challenge:
~~ Theme is a Christmas card using trees. They can be Christmas trees decorated or just a plain tree. Just be sure you have a tree!
I used stamps from Kitchen Sink Stamps that I bought ages ago- had to have them! Finally using them..... I made a winter scene and the card is for my son- he used to enjoy hockey for recreation with his friends. I used SU inks and a Unity Sentiment.
I hate to admit, I have alot of stamp sets from KSS that have not been used- I need to get them inked up- how fun it is to see the images come to life layer after layer!
If you go to Splitcoaststampers, and type in CYSDEC, you can view the other cards that have been created for this fun 'use your stash' challenge.

Hot Cocoa Wishes
I was able to make a card for a few challenges at Splitcoaststampers- I combined three challenges into this one card.
The Technique Lovers Challenge (TLC) last Monday at SCS was this side fold card- which I enjoyed and will create using it again! And, the color challenge was for colors which I created using Distress inks. Finally, the Tuesday Teapot cards are headed to California, and I hope this will bring some Christmas Cheer to the recipient.
Theresa was very ill earlier in the year, thankfully recovered. However, recently she lost her husband and is alone for Christmas. So, we are sending her cards.
The images are watercolored using Distress Oxide and Distress inks, and a few Copic accents added. And, I added Wink of Stella to the snowflakes for shimmer. I added Nuvo shimmer to the background for some glitter, waterdrops done and also added snowflakes- clear sequin snowflakes and white shimmery cardstock snowflakes cut using a Gina Marie die.
Since the recipient is in California, I added some of the snowflakes inside as well : )
Hoping you had a Blessed Christmas!!!
Thanks for stopping by!

Jan's Midmonth and Bear Birthday
Jan's Digital Stamps challenge is monthly, but we post mid-month cards as well.
A new image at Jan's is the Birthday bear. I merged a couple of images with this sweet bear- the extra balloons are flipped and added to the bunch, and the gift merged in as well.
Hoping those with December birthdays special day does not get lost in Christmas! LOL
This is a precolored image. It is die cut and backed onto Kraft cardstock, then layered on a embossed layer on red. When embossed, the raised area is covered with versamark, and stardust EP added over that- very sparkly!
I hope you will join us for the December Challenge at Jan's Digital Stamps!

Let's Chill
I challenged myself to make a CAS card yesterday- not my usual style and so HARD!!! I also wanted to try the technique from Virtual Stamp night (Splitcoaststampers) to add a shadow to my card from the image.
Thsi image is by Power Poppy and is colored using Copic markers. The 110# cardstock is inked using Soft Sky and a light touch of Marina Mist SU inks. I spritzed with DYlusions shimmer spray, and that made it all run and gave it a watercolor effect. I added more ink to the areas that needed it. The three trees (Newton's Nook) are stamped using Wild Wasabi ink (SU) and stamped off once so it would give a more muted look. Snowflakes were added from Gina Marie, and the Slimline die is also Gina Marie.
Have a great day- we had snow flurries this morning, but not enough to amount to anything!
Only 9 days until Christmas!!!

More VSN cards
So fun to join in with the VSN and Zoom and meet other ladies from Splitcoaststampers from all over, including Australia!
I was able to complete a few more challenges :
This challenge was for Black and White with a pop of color. This image is by Michael Strong Stamps and the sentiment is by Simon Says Stamps.
This challenge was to use Helping Hands. This is a Digital Image by Angie Blom digital designs. The slimline die is by Gina Marie. I colored using Copic markers.
For the 'eat cake' challenge, I used the cake template from the tutorial section and cut this out from SU DSP. The sides are CLose to Cocoa. I used handmade Flower Soft and added it to a small strip of Confetti card that was torn. The flower is by Prima and the coconut on the top- tissue paper that was cut into strips and sponged with Distress ink. It is filled using Hershey Kisses.
This is for a tie Die challenge- used shaving creme. I cut an oval out of the panel and added vellum under the panel. I added a very light touch of Copic to the vellum for the ice rink. The skating image and onlooker are from Gina K Designs

Virtual Stamp Night at Splitcoaststampers-Day 1
I had fun creating for the Virtual Stamp Night at Splitcoaststampers. I did not get all of the chaqllenges done, but had fun stamping and creating while Zooming with ladies from SCS.
This challenge was to use Alcohol- I used Alcohol inks using Copic reinkers and Denim AI for the background, and a Die-Versions die with a touch of stickles. The sentiment is by Concord and 9th.
This is the same design as above, but is done with Sliver embossing. In both samples of this image, I stamped the holly and fussy cut it out and popped up the 2nd layer.
More to come from day 2- later!

I wanted to give the Technique challenge at Splitcoaststampers a try this week- it is posted on Mondays of each week. I had a holiday card to make, so was happy to get it completed as well.
This was a little messy, but I loved doing it : ) First, Gesso is applied to the cardstock, and once dried the images by Gina K were stamped on the background. I did heat set the images just to be safe, then applied Gesso again in a random pattern- not all of the card is covered. Next, a layer of a shimmery/metallic paint is added- I brushed it on in both directions, it can be rubbed in using a circular motion- all up to you. Finally, we were to add modeling paste thru a stencil. I used the waste from the die cut Gina Marie snowflake die cuts for my stencil, and I used white paste thru it. The sentiment was added and the Silver deer added.
HERE is a link to the Tutorial on Splitcoaststampers.
The deer die is Sweet Stamps, the snowflakes die Gina Marie. Stamps are Gina K Designs.

Jan's December challenge
Each month, we have a new challenge at Jan's Digital Stamps.
The image I used is called Candy Cane Basket- and it is on sale! The Peppermint candy border is in THIS set from Jan's shop. A border of glittery Washi and Christmas colored twine, partnered with gold shimmery enamel dots finishes off this card. The image comes precolored or black and white. The background is the new Distress ink Rustic WIlderness. I did flick a touch of water on it for waterdrops.
We hope you will join in the challenge for December!

A little Zen and Alpha play : )
I had a bit of time to create early this week, and I worked on cards for challenges I follow at Splitcoaststampers.
For the Alpha challenge, I made 2 cards- I am a bit behind, but will get caught up.....
E is for Europe. I made a card using stamps depicting the Netherlands. (HAd to google that- yes, it is in Europe).
I used Distress inks and Copics for coloring the images. The die cut is Gina Marie. I am not positive, but think the stamps are TAC.
F is for Fantasy. I do not have and fairy stamps, but found this Tinkerbelle image in my stash by All Night Media.
I stamped the image in a gray by Gina K Designs, then overstamped using Versamark and put Stardust EP on the stars below Tinkerbelle, and clear EP over the rest of her. I masked the image and used DIstress inks on the background. I added White paint mixed with a little Irisdscent EP and added splatters. I added white gel pen over the swirl of stars as they were too dark. The image was colored using Copics. I added sequins to finish off the card.
For the Tuesday Teapot Tickle-we made Zentangle cards to send to other participants.
I outlined this camera from a TCW stencil, and filled it in with Zentangling. I colored the background using Copics. The cardstock has Distress inks sponged on, and I also added some stamping and splattering with water. The sentient by Unity was fussy cut and sequins and glossy accents added too. This was such a fun and relaxing card, and I made it while Zooming with some crafty friends which I enjoy doing : )
I hope you are having a great week and I am trying to get to blogs- slowly but surely!!!

More projects from my Falliday challenges:
I watercolored this card using Distress Oxide Inks. The image is by Penny Black.
I made these ornaments for Falliday at Splitcoaststampers. They are a diamond fold ornament. I added sentiment by Unity Stamps. The greenery is by CC Designs.
This is a Gingerbread garland and is also a Falliday challenge at Splitcoaststampers. I used Gelli pens to color in the Gingerbread houses.

Creating for Falliday (at Splitcoaststampers) had me making cards/projects and not blogging them, so will add a few more projects here again today : )
The ice skate die is very glittery IRL- hope you can see that! It is mounted on a silver metallic 'blade' and the DO from the kit.
These cards were in a card kit by MybugAndi45 at SCS and I made both cards using the kit. I am unsure if the stamp or die company. The snowflake dies are Gina Marie. The DP from the kit has a gold metallic shimmer in it. The sentiment is on a shimmery cardstock.
This is called '4 in 1, and I loved this- kind of like a 'Masterboard' in the old days..... I used 4 stamps in different colors, then added stenciling and a sentiment. The stamps are by Gina K Designs. This is a great way to make more than one card at a time- I will do this again!
I hope you are well and are staying safe and well this Holiday Season!
Thanks for stopping by!

Nativity cards
Today, there is a VSN Mini challenge at SCS. I only finished one card, but loved the technique....
The background is Toilet paper- yes, really! You layer it and put it through an embossing folder. It is so pretty and smooth looking IRL. I added color by sponging it on- SU yellow (Summer Sun) and Blue (Baja Breeze). The image is Unity Stamps.
This nativity die was cut out of Watercolor paper and watercolored using Zig waterbrushes. I added WInk of STella over the top. The background embissed card is shimmer cardstock. The sentiment is Concord and 9th. I added a Navy backing to the nativity scene to help it pop a touch.

Falliday cards and projects
I have been working on Christmas projects and inspired by Splitcoasr Falliday challenges.
This background is called Alcohol Ink marbling. It was a TLC-technique lovers challenge at SCS a couple of weeks ago. I came across this image in my 'Use it' stash, and thought the two worked beautifully together.
The Image is Fred She Said. I embissed the background in an EF and added the beautiful bias tape ribbon.
This is a pair of Gift card holders. This was inspired by the Featured Stamper last week. The DP is Echo Park. I made the template and sized it to fit into the A2 envelope. That stitching is on my machine. The border punch is MS and the to/From tag is SU oval and scalloped oval punches.
These cute little snowmen are usually made with candy , Chocolate 'nuggets'. Since we do not have candy in the house, I used wine corks. The tutorial is on Splitcoast. The hats are made using the cut off fingers from a childs knit glove. The poms were made using DMC thread and silver metallic thread.
I hope your holiday plans are going well- tree up yet (mine is not).
Holiday Blessings to you!

Dueling Darlings- Red Nose
It's the 15th- and time for the Dueling Darlings Monthly challenge. This month, Carol (Divas) and I (Dazzlers) chose the theme of 'Red Nose'.
I saw this DP with the houses, and I had to have it!!! I would figure someway to use it! OK- so my little reindeer takes a break from toymaking, and looks down on the city and knows the JOY that Christmas Brings- but don't forget what the Red-nose means- Rudolph was different and HIS difference SAVED Christmas!!! Oh, there is JOY to be found if you look around enough!
So much going on- this is what Christmas is really like...LOL Lots of noise in the background and stockings to be hung, gotta visit Santa, hang up the wreaths, then it starts snowing..... going sledding, throwing snowballs, and don't forget- baking...cookies : ) God is Good!!!

More Falliday challenges
Time spend creating today was used to make more cares for the Falliday challenges at Splitciaststampers.
Die-Cut inlays is the first challenge.
I die cut this Asian bird fromTutti Designs and an Alcohol Ink Marbling technique card piece. Then, re-cut the die from a Copper Metallic card. A white piece of cardstock was run through the Zyron, and adhered to the back of the technique sheet and the Copper Metallic die inserted. I burnished translucent glitter into the openings of the bird.
The Kanji says Friend and is embissed using a Copper Shimmer EP. The Copper Metallic edging is a thin Washi tape.
This challenge was to use twine on your card. I used a card kit that was sitting on my desk- everything but the twine and the Confetti cardstock was in the kit. The ornaments are diecut from a metallic cardstock, and the sequins are pretty shimmery too.
It was nice to get creative and fun to make more Falliday cards- it looks like the deadline for uploading is 11/20, so you'll see a few more Falliday cards/projects before then : )

Die Cut Relief
A fun tutorial over at Splitcoast for the Falliday challenge is called Die Cut Relief. It is the 2nd Falliday tutorial if you look it up : )
I used deer die by Impression Obsession, and trimmer the antlers off one to make a male and a female. The trees die was a gift from a teapotter (aka Tuesday Teapot).
The dies and background are done on watercolor cardstock. The backing sheet was embossed using a dots folder prior to adhering the dies, and was also scored around the edges. I followed the tutorial for applying gel matte medium and acrylic paint.
The sentiment was cut from silver metallic card using a Die-Versions die.
Thanks for stopping by!

Glimmer and Shimmer
Another card made for the Falliday Fest at Splitcoaststampers. The theme for the card is Glimmer/Shimmer/Glitter.
The backing is an Embossing Folder. The blue is done in watercolor and there is a bit of shimmer in it. I used Daniel Smith watercolors. The snowflakes are painted on using Irridescent Medium- painted on shimmer and no glitter flakes off : ) I added rhinestones over the snowflakes.
The die cut sentiment was cut on white shimmer cardstock x's 3, and it blended into the background too much. So, I used Brocade blue and die cut that, and added Blue glitter over that for the top layer. My hubby gave it a thumbs up...... The word Die is Sissix.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Falliday cards
Splitcoaststampers is currently having its annual Falliday Fest- with many challenges and tutorials. Many folks focus on Holiday cards- Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I have been able to create two cards so far (out of the 10 challenges posted).
This is a Mixed Media Die Cut Collage . The die cuts are cut from watercolor paper and glued onto a card base. Then, water reactive inks are applied over them- in this case, I used Distress Oxide inks. I splashed on a touch of water then added drops of white paint. Rhinestones were placed in the centers of the snowflakes. The snowflake dies are by Joy Crafts. The sentiment is silver embossed and is by Unity.

I have not been keeping up with blogging my cards lately! I am adding some cards from challenges at Splitcoaststampers in the past week or so!
This was for the CAS challenge a week ago- I love this Amaryllis image and have had it for a few years. I challenged myself to make it into a CAS card. I watercolored the image using Distress inks.
This card was made for the Featured Stamoer last weekend. My DD1 wants to celebrate Christmas somewhere warm. This card is for her : ) So funny, DD2 wants cold and snow : )
DP is Echo Park, and all images watercolored using Distress inks.

I made this sweet card for the CAS challenge at SCS last week.

Jan's Digital Stamps-Caroling
I know it is almost Halloween, but I want to focus on making a few more Christmas themed cards! Jan's Digital Stamps has a new release- it is on sale right now and I love it!!!
I just love these little carolers- and as always, the set of images come precolored and black and white. I used the precolored version of the Carolers here. I printed it twice, fussy cut out one set of carolers and it is popped up for dimension. I happened to have a musical background DP, so added that. The carolers are on a panel cut out on a die from CC Designs and the snowflake die is Gina Marie. The sentiment is part of the set.
I do not usually make multiples of cards, but this will be an exception : )
Challenges: TBA

SCS Featured Stamper
A beautiful 6x6 pad of paper has been staring me down lately, and I made a card using the SCS Featured Stamper Marianne today. I used a couple of dies I wanted to cut out, and a Taylored Expressions sentiment.
It's not too often I post a card with no coloring...... but, today's card is one of the rare ones! I used the Dp as a backdrop and added white die cut flowers as the accent. Sequins were also added. I used SU cardstock- an in-color from the past few years....... and a perfect match for the DP from Hobby Lobby.
The daisy dies are Memory Box, and the poppy- from SSS.

October DDD-Gnomes
This month, our Dueling Darlings teams are creating with Gnomes! Terry S is the hostess for the Dazzlers, and LJ for the Divas.
I wanted to use the background die I just bought from Pink Fresh Studios on the back, so that made this card a slimline card. I used a Gina Marie die to cut out the image, a SU oval punch for the sentiment and a piercing mat & tool. The moon is a SU 1 3/4" punch. Images were colored using Copic markers.
I loved the kit, so decided to make another card- this is the Sketch challenge from SCS this past Wednesday. A very interesting design and I did alter it by making it a bit smaller than the 6" sample- this is 5.25" x 5.25" .
The kit from Terry S included:
Images: Photoplay Gnome for the Holidays Halloween
Ink: Memento Tuxedo black
Cardstock- Neenah Classic Crest super smooth white
DP-Photoplay Potions and Spells, Hocus Pocus, Batty and Paperstudios Polka Dots
Gina Marie enamel dots, Paper Studio gems, action wobble, The Ribbon Boutique ribbons
Here are the links for all of the Dazzlers and the Divas. I look forward to seeing all of the different versions or interpretations of the kit!

I made up a card for the new round of the Alpha challenge over at SCS- the theme B=Beach
The Riley's are doing a Hula at the beach- I would like to join them : ) The image from Riley and Co is colored using Copics. It is framed using a Memory Box stitched circle die. The blue (Pacific Point SU) panel is embossed with an EF. I added a few seashells by Memory Box. The sentiment is by MFT.

Gelato's and Texture Paste
Mixed Media is something I like to dabble with, and had a bit of fun trying a couple of challenges at Splitcoaststampers.
While the theme of the 1st page was texture paste, I used it on this page as well. The theme here is gelato's. The go on and blend smoothly if you use Gesso on the page first. Since the texture paste was still on my desk, I mixed in Gelato's with the texture paste and it was fun to have the added color over the Gelato's color. I added the stenciled flowers also using Gelato's.
This was fun and I hope to keep this up and use more of the supplies I have on my shelves!
Thanks for stopping by!
