I happened across a post on Splitcoaststampers written by Kheila Kirwan. Her Mother is turning 90 and she is hoping to get 90 birthday cards in her mailbox for her birthday 1/4/10. I could not resist- what a fun request!
I have been dying to try any of the new techniques from the latest Technique Junkies newsletter, so I took this opportunity to do just that!
The background behind this beauty queen is called Ancient Paper- made easily with supplies you most likely already have around your house. The Leading Ladies stamp set is from Firecracker Designs by Pamela and the BG is called German Script from FCD as well. I stamped the Leading lady in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored it in with Copic markers. I used Y21, Y23, E000, R20, R22, R24, R27, C1, C3, C5. I applied Snow White Flower Soft to her jacket- I love this stuff- you can get it at Firecracker Designs by Pamela too.
I used Confetti CS by SU and stamped the BG with Close to Cocoa. The smaller stamp from the BG set was stamped in red after it was stamped off once. It was cut out, placed on dimensionals over the Antique papers BG and then backed with a distressed piece of Real Red CS. I finished it off with a couple of red brads.
This was a fun card to make and.....I think I can see some ATC's for the Technique Junkies ATC swap made out of this.
