Ir-Resistable fun with an older technique

I needed to make cards for a swap today, so looked at challenges, so decided to play with a challenge from MFP and made Wax Paper Resist cards.
This is plain old Wax Paper resist- so I had to try something fun- I cut an oval die out of the center of the Wax Paper and left that part white. When I cut the oval, I made a template with a plain white cardstock, so I could place it over the the oval when I added the color.

So, for my Swap cards, I used the wax paper in an embossing folder and so the Wax Paper resist has a pattern:
The horse was stamped on a textured CS, so I just cut around the outside. The word for horse in Chinese is 'ma' and there are 4 different tones in Chinese- so- in the other tones it also means mother, hemp, or scold..... That is why Chinese is so hard to speak! Horse is a third tone......

All stamps are from Mark's Finest Papers.

Challenges:
Mark's Finest Papers Tutorial Time- Wax Paper Resist
Challenges 4 Everybody- Anything Goes
Allsorts- Spring is in the Air
Crafty Calender Challenge- Things with Wings
Sweet Stampin- Flowers
Open Minded Crafting Fun- Pastel Colors
CAS-ual Fridays- CAS + oval die(s)
Craftyhands- Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by!

Both cards are terrific, Shelly. But I think that the colors on the first one make it my favorite. Plus I adore daffodils!

The texturing on the horse card is really cool! What an interesting technique. You are so dang clever!

I don't think I would do well trying to speak Chinese! I have enough trouble with English!!!
Love both of your cards--the bg technique is sooo cool! Each card is beautifully-designed and embellished! :^)
