Creative Belli #109 The letter “P”

I am a LOVER of Pink, so went to town using it for the Creative Belli Challenge  with the theme of The letter “P”.
        rogueredheadbellistartswithap
Here is a close up of the glimmer in the background:
rogueredheadbellistartswithapcloseup
I made some Technique Junkies backgrounds a while back, and did not label them, so have no clue what the technique is…..
“P” I used Pink, Punches- around the center image and for the sentiment and for the upper corners (same punch as the center panel- I have not used this for AGES),  and  I added pearls on the punched (white) panel. There is also a touch of stitching around the outer border of the card.
The stamps are red rubber from a new stamp company Rogue Redhead. The digi sentiment is from Create with TLC.  My daughter Katie is quite the avid reader, so I will send this to her and maybe send something for her in it that will put a smile on her face.
The Premise of the Belli challenge is to use your old and forgotten embellishments…..use your forgotten backgrounds or stamps or embellishments!   For some great inspiration, check out the rest of the Creative Belli designers:

Bloggers Challenge-Sketch Challenge AND Help for Katie!

This week our Bloggers Challenge is a Sketch Challenge.
I decided to make tonight's card for the Help for Katie cause, and chose one of many digi's that are e-mailed to all who are able to make a donation for Katie's cause.

This is a Magnolia Digi from the Just Inklined set, and the sentiment is from CDS digi set.   I got a little grungy, and used very simple colors of Copic markers for the flower and the leaves.  I used Technique Junkies techniques called Out of the Box and Torn Frame.

The info for Help for Katie can be found on JAK's Blog, along with photo's of all of the digi's and prized that have been donated.  I have watched Katie for AGES posting tutorials and fabulous projects over at CDS and feel like I know her (although I rarely comment- shame on me)..........  I pray for Katie, her family and all of the medical personnel taking care of her that she can find joy in each day and healing too!

For the other Bloggers Challenge Players- there is a linky  our List Mom- Lisa's blog set up- it appears below and your card will show up on all of the other bloggers challenge players that have a link posted!  How cool is that-  nice idea Lisa!

Challenges for my card:
Do You Stack Up-Distress it
Paper Crafting Journey- Use a Digi
Tip Top Tuesday-Anything Goes
365 Cards-Day 310 In stitches (straight and Zig-Zag)

McMahon Five Thursday and a little embossing fun!

Thursdays are New Release Days at McMahon Five Designs.  I had fun playing with a Technique Junkies technique called Glimmer Mist Watercoloring and added a Faux Embossing Technique I found over at Betty Bee's Buzz.
Here is a close up of the technique:
This is Sammy Spaceman by Fairydoodler- it is a digital image and can be found at McMahon Five Designs.
I made this card using Graphite and Blue Glimmer Mist- the camera makes it look Gold- because of the shimmer.  The Faux Embossing folder technique I found at Betty Bee's Buzz- how cool is that?  I stamped some star images- all SU- on the back of my technique and cut them out.  The DSP is SU (Blueberry Crisp).  The Sentiment is by Create with TLC.  The image is colored with Copic markers.

Stamps R Us Challenge #12- A Shaped Card

The Stamps R Us Challenge for the next two weeks is to create a shaped card. I had many ideas, but decided to make a Heart shaped card as it coordinated with the image so nicely.
SRUGingerloft
The image is a digi from Gingerloft. I printed it out and cut it out…I added a little Copic Spica pen for glitz around the white outer edge of the image.  I decided to try something creative with a doily….gathering it to fit around my heart image…
doilytobegatheredIMG_1832
First I cut out the center, then ran a running stitch around the edge of the inside of the circle.
doilygathered
Then I gently pulled on the thread and adjusted the gathers.
I added a couple of flowers made with the 3/4” and the 1” circle punch that were sponged with red ink.
The background red is run through the Cuttlebug with Coordinations cardstock. I lightly sanded the Love Bites candy images and I am done!  I used the largest heart and scalloped heart Nestability dies- and they do fit into a regular A-4 envelope.
I hope you will stop by Stamps R Us and play in our challenge.
Challenges:
Gingerloft- celebrations (Valentines Day)
One Stitch at a Time- Love and Valentines
Secret Crafter-Tons of Texture
Sweet Stamping Challenge-Try Something New-gathering a doily
Stamp Something-use a digi
Paper Crafting Journey-(New Challenge Blog)  Use a digi

Happy Birthday Ruby!!!

I joined the McMahon Five Design Team just in time for a celebration- it is Ruby's Birthday!
Happy Birthday Ruby!  Here is a cupcake with no calories! If you would like to stop by and wish her Happy Birthday, jump on over HERE

I hope you have a wonderful birthday!!!

My dear friend Kim just signed on to be a SU demonstrator.  She had a few friends over tonight to have some creative fun.  We made a couple of cards and the cupcake above.  The base is a nut cup covered with a strip of crimped DSP (1" x 6")  Then, we punched a pink scallop (2 3/8 ") and cut between two scallop edges to the center- overlapped one section of scallop and that formed an 'arch'.  We then punched holes for brads (sprinkles) and added a cherry on top (a bead with some floral wire).  How cute is that???  Kim put a piece of Styrofoam in the center to fill the cup.......
This is one of the cards we made.  I know the color is bad- it's pretty late....I will retake the photo and edit Sunday!  Oooohhh I love this card- me and pink... (or blue).......
The rest of the McMahon Five Design team has joined in the celebration for Ruby's birthday too.  Please HOP on over to Michelle's blog to share in celebrating with us some more!!!  And, if along the way any of the links fail, just go back to the McMahon Five Blog.
If you would like the chance to win free digital stamps, stop on over at the McMahon Five Designs Blog and take a short survey!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Here is the close-up of the glimmer:

Chloe is colored with Copic markers and I highlighted the snow and the snowflakes with Fairy Dust Creative Inspirations Paint.  The white layer behind the image and the snowflakes is a Technique Junkies technique called Ice Crystals. The red punch is by MS. The snowflakes on the SU DSP are rub-ons by Basic Grey. I used a sentiment by TLC.
There are three new images that have been released by FAIRYDOODLER, Chloe in the Snow is just one of them.

Creative Belli #108 Snow

For the Creative Belli Challenge -for the next two weeks- we want to see SNOW.

Here is a close-up of the shimmery glistening snow......(lol).... I painted the snow with Creative Inspirations (Fairy Dust) Paint. I used a digital image and sentiment from Create with TLC and the sentiment was dissected to meet the Midnight Madness Sketch challenge- I used the sentiment where the buttons are on the sketch. You cannot see the subtle sky sponges with a scallop punch and Soft Sky ink. The DSP is Jovial by Basic Grey. I used a rub on (on vellum) for my snowflake and added small white rub-on snowflakes to the background for dimension.
The Premise of the Belli challenge is to use your old and forgotten embellishments.  I used the swirly rhinestones I purchased ages ago- in fact- this may be my first card with swirly sparkle- kind of fun!

A Wayward Dude card.......

I started this card with the CDAC color challenge in mind.............

The image is a freebie (for the color challenge) at CDAC HERE... for two weeks and it is from BoniBleaux Designs. The football is also from BoniBleaux designs, and I just copied and pasted it repeatedly for my border strip.  My husband and son got involved in what the flowers are for, and decided the dude would be asking permission to go somewhere special, like the Superbowl.....!
I enjoy watching a game of football, but if I got invited to go to the Superbowl, I would feel like the ticket SHOULD go to some poor soul who LOVES, LOVES, LOVES football......I would say go for it and bring a friend, and I would spend the entire time they were away Paper Crafting!
The image is colored with Copic Markers. The cardstock behind the main image is shimmery and is a Technique Junkies technique called Dabbed Shimmers. I distressed the orange layer, then added a Cuttlebug Highlight layer.
We have a friend that told his 22 year old daughter that he would pay for her to go to the Superbowl if the Chicago Bears make it there....... my son does not think the Bears have a chance to go......I will be watching each week to see how that goes...... I do not make such promises to my kids- that $$$ could buy a ton of stamping supplies, don't you think???
I got side tracked with the football theme and the browns, and lost sight of the color challenge for CDAC- Oh well.......

Thanks for stopping by!
