Asian Image Swap

In the About Oriental Art Yahoo Group, we had an image swap- we had to make a card with the image and send it back to our partner,  Fun, huh???

I received a beautiful image (from I Brake for Stamps- on sale now too : 0 )   from Carolyn S.  It is a Japanese garden, but reminds me of the Yu'an gardens in Shanghai. I really love the image.  I colored it with Copics, then matted it with Washi Paper.  I used a die, Oriental Screen by Die-versions- I folded it in half, and applied 1/2 of the image to the front and inside of each panel, then the ribbon was added to keep the card closed.

  Here is the card open

I added a white cardstock piece on the inside.  I never write on my exchange cards, so the person that receives them can use them...or keep them. I do add my name on the back......

Challenges:
One Stitch at a Time- Use a die
Stamping Sensations- Use a stamp and ribbon

Oh the card I got back from Carolyn S is a beauty, and a card I am going to try to recreate soon!

This card is glittery shimmery heaven!  The bird image by Stonehouse Stamps- plate #6 is fussy cut and added to a DP background.

Thanks for stopping by!
Shelly

You have coloured the scene beautifully Shelly. And I love how the red sets it off.

I always enjoy your oriental cards and they remind me of my son who took Japanese in high school and always loved everything oriental. Beautifully done and awesome cards that you received too. Have a wonderful week!

Oh my, bet it took a while to get all the details colored on this lovely & intricate image. What a great coloring effort. Love the geometric die, perfect with this image, and I like the way you've placed the die shapes. It's a most beautiful and very unique card, and what a wonderful look you've achieved. TFS & Hugs
