Sweet Stamps-Chalkboard technique

The challenge at Sweet Stamps for the Month 9/15-10-14 is Chalkboard Technique Stamping.

I made napkin rings and place cards- currently there is no name on them- just add that with your White paint pen when you are ready : )

The Technique Junkies taught Chalkboard Stamping (April/May 2013 newsletter), and that is the method I use.

Here is how I made the napkin rings:
-Cut strips of cardstock 1 1/4" wide x's 5 1/2 " long
-I ran the cardstock through the paper crimper (or you can score it every 1/8").
-secure the ends together- I did not use brads or staples, as I worry they will grab on the napkin fabric or paper.
-decorate the top to your liking

For the placecard:
- choose what size you would like to have -cut cardstock.  I used cardstock that is    4 1/4"x 5 1/2"
-Score at the center- but ***just at the sides*** so you can have a landmark for where the place card will fold.
-Stamp your designs on black cardstock- use the antistatic pad first. Emboss with White EP.
-finish scoring across the remainder of the placecard ***DO NOT fold it yet
-cut out the areas above the score with an exacto knife
-Now you can fold the place card in half.
-doodle, add white ink, embellish, add the name of the person in white paint pen.

I used a black spider brad, covered it with Piccolo Enamel and Embossing Powder Adhesive, added Piccolo Girl's Night Out Enamel EP-and Embossed. It's very sparkly- and what a cool accent!  You can also see in the picture the cat has green eyes and purple rhinestones on his hat.

Products I used from the Sweet Stamps Store:

We have a weekly challenge and a monthly technique challenge. Our winners are chosen by Random.org- and if you use a Sweet Stamps image, your entry will count x's 2!
