Sweet Stamps- Red and Green

We're crafting in Red and Green this week at Sweet Stamps . Let's have some creative fun!
The new Technique Junkies Newsletter is out : )  And, we have a Technique of the week for inspiration, so I gave it a go!  This technique is called Circle Strips. I used Authentique DSP and colored the image with Copics. I have microbeads close at hand- and remember they are our Monthly Challenge this month here at Sweet Stamps : )  so I added a few to the center of the flower along with a sprinkle of glitter.

The card is 4.25" X 6", so a perfect time to go through my stash for DP to make my own envelope.  I found a 12x12 piece of Authentique DP that is the exact line of the DP I used, so made an envelope, and then thought I would give the 'Poppers' I have been seeing a try.

The envelope punch board is not just for envelopes : )
***I am going to post directions for making these poppers.  You can adjust the size by doing a little math..... ****

I cut the DP 4 1/2 x 6
Score at 1", 2", 3", AND 4"
(To make the Popper larger, just increase your measurements for the sides, eg for a side that is 1 1/2", you would multiply by 4 - so 6" plus the 1/2" border= 6 1/2 X however long you want it to be).

Score at 1 1/4" on each end (on the 4 1/2" side). If you look closely in the picture above, I made lines with a pen- score along those lines. Make your marks in pencil, and save the scraps for future use : )

I punched at 1 1/4 from each end (on the 6" side) along the score lines.
You can see the paper goes up to the 1 1/4" mark on the score board. Repeat the punching on each score line at 1 1'4" across each side.

Turn and repeat on the other end.
You will also need to punch the edges in the 1/2" section

Score-carefully- on either side of the punched hole- you will fold on these lines:
Next, decide which side will be on the outside. I choose the patterned side.  Place score tape along the 1/2" section just at the very end section of the popper and in the center section. (You will not place Score Tape in the areas of the open sections). I decided to use the patterned side of the DP, so I placed the score tape on the patterned side of the 1/2" section. place that up to the edge of the opposite side - and attach to the first section.

Fold in the poppers- push in at the score line-where the center of the punched section is, and the end of the popper folds in.  I added ribbons and a DP band- from the tops of the DP I used. Next I colored and added a holly sprig- it would be fun to add tags as well, don't you think?
