Sweet Stamps Challenge- Roses

It's another fun challenge at Sweet Stamps .  Our challenge theme for this week is Roses.
Here is a sneak peak at one of the techniques for the Oct Technique Junkies Newsletter- Painted Burlap. I used a SweetCuts die to cut out the butterfly die, and painted it using Smoosh- so it is shimmery IRL. I used ink from the Spots and watercolored the image. The pin is from Pinque Peacock. I colored the Copics on the Rhinestones to colorize them.

Here are the Sweet Stamps supplies I used:

ATC's -Stamp Carving.....

My ATC Group theme for September was stamp carving. There are tons of video's out there, and more than one way to carve stamps for the beginner like me : )

For my Swap ATC's, I tried to draw a flower and carve it, and did not do too well, so I found a picture on google and printed it out and went from there. The background is Glimmer mist sprayed onto cardstock, and the image is stamped with Versamark and embossed.

You can see that I used a variety of carving supplies- erasers from the dollar store on the upper Lt, an eraser from Dick Blick that has  little engraved raised areas- made for cool texture in the flowers I stamped and the pink is Speedball carving block.

This is the 1-4-1 ATC that I made using the blue and white stamp above and the dotted stamp (bottom LT). I used the end of a pencil- empty eraser/metal end piece and pressed it into the eraser I was carving on, and then carved around it- the other side of the eraser was also used, and is the opposite image where I carved out the circles- you can see I used it on my ATC.
I took a doodling class at Create Chicago with Joanne Sharpe, and was trying to use some of my newly learned technique...... ( I am so end-processed thinking, that this is really hard for me!!!).  The eraser had little impressed areas in it- you can see them in the flower petal leaves.

This is the beautiful ATC I recieved in the 1-4-1- made by Mary:

For the group swap, many members made many different ATC's- so this is the selection I came home with:
Lt made by Carol ; Rt side made by Linda

Lt made by Diane- she made multiple shape stamps and used them in the background, Rt made by Mari

Lt made by Diane M ; Rt made by Cindy

Lt made by Harriet (using foam stamps- picture later), Rt Marci

Lt made by Mary W ; Rt made by Deb- also using foam.

Here is how the foam stamps (by Harriet) were created:
On the Lt is a stamped image using the foam- which is glued onto a foam 'block'........

I loved this swap and will most likely be doing some more stamp carving- before I go though, I want to share a couple more pictures : )

I had to take a pic of Diane M's 1-4-1 card- using the Chicago skyline as above- but in a Halloween theme- I just love this ATC : )    I am not sure who picked this one out of the hat, but it was not me, so I needed a picture......

After the swap, Diane S had index cards and Deli paper and we passed around the stamps we carved and stamped images........ here is a look at some of them.......

I love this group- it really has challenged my creativity!

Thanks for stopping by- Have a great day

Sweet Stamps- Go West.......! Western theme.....

It's another fun challenge at Sweet Stamps .  Our challenge theme for this week is a WESTERN one.

I used a newly released image from Sweet Stamps- I just love this gorgeous horse- it is stamped in Brownie Shades ink spot, and I colored it in with Copics. I decided to make 1/2 rosettes for the top of the card using 3/4" strips of the Wellington DP and Coordinations cardstock. I used a lighter brown Coordinations cardstock for the banner dies, and embossed them with the wood grain embossing plate, then highlighted the raised embossing with Brownie ink.

Here are the Sweet Stamps supplies I used:

Sweet Stamps- ATC

It's another fun challenge at Sweet Stamps .  Our challenge theme for this week is ATC's.

I had fun experimenting- remember Maduzia Magic?  I tried it with shimmery EP and Ranger inks.  I stamped and embossed the image in Sparkly embossing Powder. I added the brown inks around the edges and stamped the dot stamp in brown randomly. I then used the Distress inks on the non-stick mat and spritzed with water, then dragged the ATC through it. It was too dark brown for my liking, so after it was totally dry, I repeated with Iced Spruce ink. After I added the inks, I reheated the image/embossing and it popped right back out- I always love a challenge using my supplies, especially when it works the way I hope it will.
I decided to also use a new toy : )  I made a little envelope to go with my ATC (and looking forward to using up alot of the DP I have been hoarding)  using the envelope board : )

 How fun is that!

Here are the Sweet Stamps supplies I used:

Distressed Rainbow Stripe ATC

I played with the dimensions in the Distressed Rainbow Strips tutorial from the Technique Junkies last newsletter, and made it work for an ATC.

The fan is Stampin Up (retired), the Kanji is Mark's Finest Paper and the background is by Sweet Stamps.
We visited China, and it is very apparent how the colors are so important- and have significant meaning there- Gold, Red, Green, Blue, Black and White stand for the elements- so are very represented in the scenery everywhere.

 Have a great Day!

I made two cards using a Bonus technique on the CD called Glimmering Debossing.
I used the same image from Sweet Stamps on both of the cards- I just used different colors for the background. The picture captures a bit of the dimension, but not too much of the shimmer. I used the waste edge of the technique after the main image panel was cut out, and cut out dragonflies for both of the cards using a Cheery Lynn Die also from Sweet Stamps.

Here is the Blog Hop order:

Sweet Stamps- Butterflies

It's another fun challenge at Sweet Stamps .  Our challenge theme for this week is Butterflies!
The image is stamped and colored with Copics- then I added Sakura Gelly Roll Pen to highlight the flowers. I added Creative Inspirations paints spattering it (Ivory) onto the front of the card- in the center- not over the floral image. The butterflies are stamped and embossed, then painted with Pink and Beige CI paint, then highlighted with R22 and W1 Copic markers. I sponged a touch of In the Pink Shades Die ink around the border of the card. Love the Prima DP and added a couple of Sweetcuts die to add a touch of the pink tp the back layer.

OSA Lotus ATC Swap

For the Oriental Art Yahoo Group monthly ATC exchange, the theme for August was Lotus.

I used a Lotus image from About Art Accents. (oohhhhh I found this set is 50% off when I went to AAA to link it : )  ) I colored the image with Copic Markers, then covered it with Irridescent Ice embossing powder. The background 'Pool Party' cardstock color was off a tad but, so I used a Technique Junkies Technique called Debossed Coloring- perfect!

My partner for August was Dawn T.

The picture does not fully show the shimmer- she also used Copics and sprayed the ATC with Smooch. (and my friends know that I love Pink and Blue.....so Heart this ATC!!!).

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Holiday weekend!!!
