Michael Strong Card Captain Day 4

I am on day 4 of my week of Card Captain with the Michael Strong Stamps Yahoo Group.

I made a card with a die- that cuts out an Easter Egg image.......yep.....  I used Watercolors in Yellow and purple and let them run...once dry, I stamped and embossed the egg in White EP. Once I cut them out, I curled the edges and arranged them into the shape of a flower....... So, what kind of flower is this???  An Eggceptional one- it has no scent and does not make me sneeze....
For the stem, I used a scrap of a Glimmer Lace technique (Technique Junkies)- and as you can see- one more egg shape for the leaf.
I layered the flower on a background called Chalked Emboss- I used a pigment called Pan Pastels to sponge color onto the background.  There is a great new challenge blog called Unruly PaperArts- there is also an online 'zine' with articles throughout the month....check it out!
The sentiment is a stamp from Unity Stamps- my first time using a Unity stamp.......

Challenges:
New Challenge- Unruly Paper Arts- sponging (Pan Pastels on the BG)
Twisted Thursdays-Flowers (no roses)
Truly Madly Crafty- make a flower

Michael Strong Card Captain days 2 and 3

In the Michael Strong Stamps Yahoo group, we have a card captain each week- so we have daily inspiration!  This is my first time doing this- and it is really a great way to get me motivated to stamp!
I posted Day 1 on Monday.....Here is Day 2:

I stamped the image in brown multiple times and used the coordinating die to cut it out.  I attached it to the Confetti cardstock base with adhesive, then I decided to sponge on some color using the used die onto the cardstock as well.  I then embossed it using a SU texture folder. I added a bit of brown ink to the edges of the card. The sentiment is Stampendous (1998) and I added brown Bakers Twine.

Day 3:
I could NOT get a good picture of this card at all.  I stamped the image onto Vellum using Versamark and embossed it with ranger Gold EP. I used a Blue Copic Spica Glitter Pen to color in the open areas. The ornament is layered on Black CS that has been spritzed with gold Glimmer Mist.   The gold organdy ribbon is gathered with a running stitch. I added blue gemstones to the ornament as well. One Christmas card down.........!

Sweet Stamps Challenge- Vintage/Shabby Chic

Our challenge for the Sweet Stamps Blog this week is Vintage/Shabby Chic.

I used a Technique Junkies technique called Vintage Wallpaper for my background. I used the Scrollworks embossing plate and Shades dye ink in Sand Castle, Chocolate Delight and Deco Coral on Confetti cardstock.  The image- Cherie is also stamped on Confetti cardstock. I used the Shades dye inks again and water colored carefully. I cut out the image using a die by Nellie Snellen which you can see HERE. I used the Dancing Doily lace border- painted with Chocolate Delight ink in the center. The bow uses Antique White seam binding.

I hope you will join in the challenge!  Every entry qualifies you for a chance to win $20 of items from the store at  Sweet Stamps, and if you use a Sweet Stamps image- you will receive an additional chance to win! Pintrest CASE Challenge

While I was visiting Paige's Blog, I  came across a post where she made a card for this new Challenge Blog , Pinspirational , where you CASE cards from Pintrest.  I had a notion to make a Ladybug themed card........

Here is the Pinned image we were CASE'ing
Yummy!!!  I had to go with the pure Ladybug theme.......

This digi freebie is from Little Scraps of Heaven and the sentiment is from Create with TLC.  I colored the image with Copics. I used TJ techniques Layer Up and Out of the box on this card.

Michael Strong Card Captain

In the Michael Strong Yahoo group, we are encouraged to sign up for a week as the 'Card Captain'.
That means, each day this week, I will post a card with a Michael Strong stamped image on it.
Day One:
I used a Technique Junkies background with Dabbed Shimmers- Oohhhhh this card is really shimmery IRL......  I added embossing to the background and highlighted it a dauber- with Red Riding hood ink. I also added shimmer to the fans with a Sakura Jelly roll pen. I got out my Crop-a-Dile- which is my most under-used tool ever....and put in a eyelet in the tag with the sentiment (by Stampin Up).

If you use Michael Strong Stamps and would like some 'Daily Inspiration' with the images- come join the Michael Strong Yahoo Group!

Run Ray Run!!!

Hehehe- My Splitcoaststampers blogging group, "Stamp Addicts" chooses a stamper to CASE every couple of weeks- this is a CASE of Lynn's Funny Friday card.
My husband just celebrated another Anniversary of the day he was born, and we were talking about how 'things have changed' yesterday.  Hubby can usually eat and eat and eat and never gains a pound.....and he discovered yesterday at a Doctor visit he has gained 9 pounds since last year.  For a guy that can eat and never gain any weight, that was a little shock to him- that is a first- he may have to start watching what he eats....... like the rest of us......
The image is by Dude Time Doodles/Bonibleaux Designs. I colored it with Copics and used a Technique Junkies method for the sky called Cloud Paper from the TJ Stamping Companion CD. I printed the sentiment on my computer.
I also used my Dies for the 'To Die For' Bloggers Challenge this week. You can use any die or SVG cut on your card- it is a JFF challenge.  Bloggers Challenge Mom Lisa's blog is HERE.

Challenges:
Dude Time Doodles-masculine and a funny sentiment
CraftyCatz-CAS
Cropstop-CAS
SJ Crafts- 1-2-3 and add 3 of something
Twisted Tuesday- Clouds (not stamped)

Hi!  Thanks for stopping by!

Here are some spectacular new images called, "From The Garden".

There are some wonderful prizes this week and you will want to get in on the goodies.
Here is what I created to share with you:

The Iris is just one of the 6 gorgeous flowers being released.  The sentiment can be found HERE. I have used three dies on my card- on the top left is Anja Edge, top right is Anja Corner , and along the bottom is Dancing Doily Lace Border. The Iris is colored with Copic Markers -sold in sets at Sweet Stamps- Spring Leaf, Sunshine and the Purples V12, V15 and V17. I used the V15 Copic marker to color the Seam binding, and painted Fairy Dust Creative Inspirations Paint over that, and added a touch to the yellow flower centers of the Iris.

Oh, I love flowers.....I had to create another card.......
I stamped and embossed the image and colored with Copic markers- using the Copic Sets Spring Leaf, Sunshine and Warm Shadow. The butterfly is stamped and embossed with Black EP, and colored with Creative Inspirations Paints- Sunshine and Burnt Sienna. I added a tiny touch of Burnt Sienna CI paint to the centers of the flowers too. The DSP is from the Authentique.

Mosaic Mania

I really enjoyed the Mosaic technique from the Technique Junkies newsletter Feb 2012....it reminds me a bit of crazy Patch quilting to put down the DSP and I have lots of that to use up......
The cute image is Latte Kiki from All That Scraps. The image is colored with Copic markers. I added some Pool Party color to the ribbon with an Aqua painter so it would match the DSP better. The background technique has a glossy coat- you can see that up on the top a bit......  The sentiment was stamped in black and I used the same punch for the backing, just punched it multiple times and trimmed it if needed. That is a little Ric-Rac peeking out from under the ribbon.

Challenges:
Stampalot challenge- Birthday
2 Sisters- Birthday fun
Drunken Stampers- Beverages

When I look for challenges, I always stop by Feline Playful- they are the best group of ladies EVER!  And, did you know they also list Blog candy and Tutorials?  Yep!

Have a great day!  Thanks for stopping by!
