Eileen's Elegance

I had to play with this image for today's release at McMahon Five Designs- I have a sister named Eileen.....  This is called Eileen's Elegance .
I used the Sketch from the challenge at Sketch and Stash for my Inspiration.
Part of the challenge is to use stash that has not been used in > 6 months...Perfect- I got our some Dew Drops- and a Corner Punch- and I found some Darcie's tags I bought at Stampaway in 7/2010 that is still unopened......

I used Prima DSP on the card- and took a piece of the DSP and added it to the clear tag with Crystal effects.
I also used Prima mini roses and Prima lace- I sewed alot on the card. I added  Wisped Framed and Stacked Nesties both Technique Junkies techniques. I printed Eileen twice, and the top part of her hat is up on a dimensional.  I used Copic markers to color the image.

Challenges:
Sketch and Stash- Sketch
Flutter By Wednesday- use your scraps- on my sketch and acrylic tag
Truly Scrumptious-distressing
Anything goes-die cuts
Papertake Weekly- use three different shapes
Karen's Doodles- Distress it

Creative Belli Challenge #128 Use FLower Soft, Felt or Chunky Glitter

For the bi-weekly Creative Belli Challenge I used Faux Flower Soft (My tutorial HERE).
Here is a close up of the Faux Flower soft and the shimmer:
I used SU dye inks and sponged on the colors. I added some Copic color on the trees and the grass.  The backgrounds are Technique Junkies UFO's that I did not write on the back and identify- although I know the green was made with Twinkling H2O's.  The image is from McMahon Five Designs. I used the Sketch from Card Patterns.

Here is a tutorial I used for tying a little bow- on a fork. I simply wrapped the twine three times around the fork......

I am trying to play along-as much as I can- with the Breast Cancer Awareness Challenge on Splitcoaststampers- I picked this image specifically for the theme of  Things are Looking Up- at a Sunset!

The spirit of the Belli challenges is to encourage you to use your OLD and FORGOTTEN embellishments!  I was happy to use the Nestability for the first time and the brown twine I bough a year ago........it may be the first time I have used it.....

For ideas and inspiration, check out the DT creations:

Also, if you upload a card to any galleries online  to Splitcoast , PCP, Stamp TV or another online gallery be sure to add CBC128 in the keywords section.

Challenges:
Card Patterns- Sketch #136
Anything Goes- Die Cut
Heart Song Inspirations- Use a die cut and sponging
Stamping Sisters in Christ-Anything Goes
Gingersnaps- Shared Moments

***If anyone knows how to help me change my link colors- the blog template I am using does not let me change default link of background colors- and the links are not always letting me change the colors or make them bold- so they do not show up.......  Thanks in Advance!  ***

Breast Cancer Awareness

I made a few cards for Breast Cancer Awareness and I found a couple of fabulous Challenge sites for this.
Link Up For Pink for Breast cancer Awareness, ends October 14th
  - Create a PINK project plus comment on at least 5 of the linked blogs

AND:
Splitcoaststampers- SCS is having daily challenges and is partnered with UT MD Anderson Cancer Center to benefit patients being treated for breast cancer and their family.

I put together three quick cards for the challenges for Oct 1st.......
For the circle card:

Butterfly and HOPE sentiment are from McMahon Five Designs. (Did you know McMahon Five Designs had a monthly Awareness freebie- HERE is a link to the BCA image area at M5D- the ones that cost $$$ - the $$$ goes to Charity).  I used the Sakura Gelly Roll Pen on the crimped back portion and the sentiment and butterfly image.

This is for the Pink Critters challenge at SCS and I made the pink butterfly have some shimmer with Sakura Gelly Roll pen. The background is a Technique Junkies Technique and is called Scraped Oil Pastels, and then I Cuttlebugged it and highlighted that....... The seam binding is colored with SU Rose Romance.  The image is from Designed2Delight for the progressive challenge : )

 Next I used a Sketch from 365
This is for the Bling it up challenge at SCS- Oct 1st challenge.  I made the flower with Copics and used a SU brad with a pink rhinestone in the center.  I had to add some sewing and although it is unusual, someone will like it. McMahon Five Designs releases this week included Evelyn- a beautiful young lady who does not wear pink : ) ......   I used  Bo Bunny Gabriella Collection and was determined NOT to use different colors than my norm.....

I colored the image with Copic markers using a touch of color from the background paper, and used 'torn frames' technique by the Technique Junkies. I added Distress Inks to the image and Nestability frame. I used Natural seam binding colored with Copic markers and stitched that onto Prima lace for the bottom border. I used a Prima flower colored with a touch of  Copics and added Distress Stickles to the edges. I used Prima pearl bling on the card- I cut the pieces apart and added it to the card.

Operation Write Home World Card Making Day Blog Hop

Making cards for our Soldiers to send to their families is such a privilege to me- I hope you will take a little time- grab a cup of tea- or coffee and visit the Operation Write Home World Cardmaking Day blogs for some Inspiration!

I started making soldier cards about 10 years ago when my kids needed a confirmation project.  I send cards to troops of friends mostly in Iraq and Afghanistan, and I really enjoy that the soldiers all share them with each other. I make a variety of cards- no glitter and flat so they do not require extra postage.
We are making Holiday cards for the soldiers:

I still add glitz to my cards even though no glitter is allowed..... I used shimmery cardstock, Metallic thread in my sewing machine and Sakura Gelly roll pen on this card.

I know many of the Blog Hoppers make alot more cards than I can for OWH- so I wanted to offer CANDY!
One Blog Hopper will win any Spellbinders set of your choice from McMahon Five Designs
You do not have to follow my blog- but you will need to stop back and claim your prize on the evening of Oct 10th.

 My card:
Christmas Puppy by McMahon Five Designs
Colored with Copics and Sakura Gelly Roll Pen
DSP by SU
Gold Shimmery cardstock adds a touch of bling.

Bless all of our troops AND the families of all of our soldiers!
