I have a fun CAS card for you today : )
My stamping New Year goal is to use my unused stamps. I have a few Lawn Fawn Stamps that have not seen ink, so I used this pretty rose.
I used a thicker Gesso thru a stencil and once dry, added watercolor crayons over it. The image is on a painted BG sheet and I stamped and fussy cut out 2 of the flowers, and layered them for dimension. I added a little Copic Marker for shading. I did the same for the leaves. I added sequins and a simple sentiment.
Stamps are from Lawn Fawn . Please bear with me if I have not been by your blog- I am away and am not getting too much computer time.
Challenges:
Outlawz- Twisted Thursday-AG
Pile it On- Paint- rose and leaf, and watercolor crayon painted over gesso for BG
Cupcake Inspiration- Insp picture- colors from pic used
CAS Mix up- CAS with Mixed Media + Watercoloring

Poochie Love
I made this for my dogs 'babysitter' using a cute image from Bugaboo:
This fun dog image is called Itchy bowl and it is colored with Copics. The embossing folder with the dog paws is from Darice- on sale recently at Joann for 6/$10 meaning $1.66 each : ) The dog paw punch is Recollections. The grass border is a punch. The cardstock is Chocolate Chip, Bordering Blue, Wild Wasabi and White, and the ink is Bordering Blue. The oval & oval scalloped dies are Spellbinders.
Challenges:
Catch the Bug Sketch 403-Sketch
Addicted to Stamps and More- Use your Mark- use markers- added ink to grass and EF
Tuesday Throwdown- Create your own Background

Happy Birthday to you!
I made a Birthday card for a Special lady- and loved the Gelli plate design I made on Deli paper.
I used inspiration to create from the Bugaboo challenge- Bingo- I used Flower, Pink and Bugaboo image. The image is called BugBdayBird4. The sentiment I used is a digi from Create with TLC. I colored the image with Copics, The top left of the image has a small area where I cut around a couple of the balloons and the do not get cut by the die- I call that "Out of the Box". I added a Sentiment from Create with TLC. I used a stash item- oh, this is sooo old- not sure when the last time is that I added a flower to a card! I hand delivered this one, so aded 3 layers of petals and a button center. I added a thin strip of silver German Scrap to the lower border. Since the background is shimmery, I added Wink of Stella to the stripes of the hat, and around the image as well.
Other Challenges- Come and Get It-wants Mixed Media projects (Gelli Plate BG). Pile it On wants to see projects that use paint.

A Very Progressive Post
I decided to play along with a couple of Progressive challenges- First, From the Heart:
I used to play along for quite a while when it was known as D2D, so I thought I would give it a go again : ) I used the Sketch 139 at From the Heart as well. I added lots of shimmer using a Sakura Gelly Roll pen, and I added glitter onto the liquid applique on the hat. Who doesn't love a snowman and Hot Chocolate?
Next is the Outlawz Progressive Freebie for Feb.- another Monthly image challenge.
The image was provided by Outlawz member Teresa Arsenault. I colored the image with Copics. I added white dots to her skirt with a paint pen, I pulled out some really old DSP from SU- and cut into it...... I recently moved my 12 x 12 and decided it was time to start using lots of it.......
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend : )

Shelly
The Dueling Darling are divided into the Divas and the Dazzlers. Each group receives a card kit, and we hop to each others blogs to see what the other ladies have created.
We all have the same theme for creating.
For February, Paola and Kadie are the hostesses
and our creating theme is:
Be a Kid at Heart! We are to add a heart to our cards.
My card kit is from Paola. We have 2 darling images to create from, and DP's, trim and buttons. I used the image "Kite Fhiona" by Fun and Whimsical Rubber Stamps.
I do not usually create CAS cards, but this sketch spoke to me! I colored with Copics, and added shimmer using the Sakura Gelly Roll pen. The sentiment is SU
We are also to mention our favorite game as a kid- mine would be Aggravation, because my Dad would get so aggravated : ) It was comical....!

Year of the Monkey-Take 2
I love this little monkey, and made a 2nd card with him/(her) for Chinese New Year.
This cute Monkey is on Michael Strong's Blog (1/29/16 post) - as a freebie : ) There are a couple of other versions of it too, and the Washi was a gift to us as well.
The lanterns are another Michael Strong image embossed in Gold EP. The Kanji is from the internet, and it says Happy New Year.

This is the same Sketch and DSP, but I used a Technique Junkies stamp called Serenity Butterfly.

Winter Evelyn Tag
I love how this tag turned out! I saw a challenge at the Outlawz and had to play........
This is Evelyn : ) Sweet Stamps just released this image- she is just darling and so fun to color.
First, I cut out the images on my Cameo using the Scan and Cut feature. Then I colored the image with Copics, I added liquid applique and glitter on her coat and boots. I added Sakura Gelly Roll pen on the snowflakes.
The background is watercolor crayons (Baja Blue, Wasabi and Pink) scribbled on and the spritzed. For texture, I added Thick Gesso with a credit card thru a Sweet Stamps stencil Snowflower. Once dry, I used a Baja Blue Watercolor crayon and took a baby wipe and got the blue off the gesso. Next, I painted crackle distress paint over that. Next, I added Stickles over the raised textured areas of the gesso. That is liquid applique on her trim with glitter sprinkled over it. I added fibers and sequins and called it a day.

Art Journaling through Proverbs-Week 1
I joined a group last week Art Journaling through Proverbs. Week 1:
Each week we get a verse to create with. This week Proverbs 31:20-21
"She reaches out her hands to the poor, and extends her arms to the needy. She fears not the snow for her household; all her charges are double clothed". (In the non-Catholic version the verse reads all her charges are clothed in scarlet).
I am using a small journal instead of writing in a bible (only Catholic Journaling bible I could find was $80.00)..... The Sacred Heart of Jesus is in the upper corner, the hearts are the blood he shed for us and his love- going down to the hands where the love is passed on from one person to another. The tree is a family tree where HIS word is passed on. I copied Proverbs 31 and torn the text for the tree out of that copy.
I used Geatos for the background. I tool a baby wipe and removed Gelato (where you see white- Gesso under the Gelato's). I added more stenciling using distress inks.
I love doing journaling and thought this would be a great way to get me 'doing it'!

Happy Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year this year begins Feb 8th and it is the year of the Monkey.
I was excited to see a Monkey digi as a gift on Michael Strong's Blog. I printed it out, and took a copy of it and reversed it in Word- I am not too smooth with tecky stuff, so just eyeballed it to see the reversed one matched up to the other and got lucky : )
I colored the image with Copics and then glued them together. I added a thin strand of thread through the monkeys hand and attached it to the top portion only. The Yellow & Red Washi design used is also a freebie from Michael Strong (same post as the monkey digi). I printed it and added strips of it to the top and bottom- in China, even numbers are considered lucky (except 4 which is like 13 here- unlucky number!!! ).
The Four Way card is a tutorial at Splitcoaststampers. It is quick and easy to make. I would just suggest using a die no bigger than the one I used as the sides will get wobbly if it were any bigger. It does lay flat for mailing as well.
Here is a little info about Chinese New Year- it is also known as the Spring Festival in China.
Challenges:
ABC Challenge- A is for Animals
Card Mania- Red
Creative Card Crew- AG
Critters and Creatures- AG something colored

Faux Cloisonne
The Oriental Stamp Art technique challenge for January was Faux Cloisonne.
I added the challenge to a Swap using a postage stamp (image from Google). I stamped the Apple Blossom image and embossed it in Queens Gold EP onto Vellum. I colored in the image using Twinkling H2O's.
The real technique uses darker cardstock for the base or magazine pages- but I wanted to use plain vellum.....
I love the shimmer on the apple blossoms : )
