Bugaboo- Oldie but Goodie

On Thursdays at Bugaboo, at the Catch the Bug challenge Blog, we post cards using images that are not  'new releases'.  Aka Oldie but Goodie.  I have to admit, I love all of the Bugaboo images, but always love flowers!!!

I went with a Shabby Chic theme for my card.  The image was colored using Copic markers.  I added G45 DP on the background and under the image panel.  I added a die at the top of the card with a few pearls.  There are flourish die cuts made using a Cheery Lynn die. I also added premade rolled and mulberry flowers with pearls in the centers.

CYS August- stencils

Our Hostess for CYS (Challenge Your Stash), a monthly challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com,  is Kelly.  She challenged us to use stencils.  Oh, I have a few of those (large drawer full).....LOL

I made a background using distress inks, then added flicks of water to watermark. Next, I spritzed the stencil, and laid it on top of the background, then lifted it up, and a watermark of the stencil is on the background.
When I first had a Scan N Cut, I cut out oddles and oddles of images, which reside in a baggie.....  I am doing some sorting today and came across the baggie and took out this vase (which I cut about 10 of) and colored it up and added it to the card.  I used the Splitcoaststampers Sketch challenge for the card as well.

You can find us at Splitcoaststampers.com/forums/swaps/cards/closed/Challenge Your Stash.  Even though the challenge is in a 'Closed' area, it IS open for new members.  We are using supplies in our stash that are 'unused' for a while!!!

Let's Party!

Instead of sorting, I am playing : )   I had to look up the challenges at SCS today, and I tried a color challenge combined with the TeaPot challenge which is watercoloring and doodling.

I used Distress Inks to watercolor and come as close to the recommended colors as I could- Grape, Lipstick and Costal Cabana. I used neutrals that are allowed- Greens and Browns.  Instead of neutral Merry Merlot, I used Razzleberry for matting the card. I guess I should get back to sorting....LOL

Two become One......

I have a few 'new to me' stamps on my desk today, and decided to ink one set up and make a Wedding card.  I took my inspiration from the Featured Stamper post on SCS today.

So, this is a Unity sentiment set, and I stamped and embossed the birdhouse in Silver on Vellum.  The two birds are stamped and embossed with Stardust EP, then fussy cut and popped up on foam dots.  I added a touch of pink Copic marker from the back on the vellum at the bottom of the birdcage where the row of hearts is.
The top sentiment is stamped on Gray cardstock in Silver.  The bottom left sentiment is on vellum also in silver EP, and backed with a metallic silver card.
I added 1/4" double sided tape to the edges of the card, and added some holographic foil on the edges.  Sequins were the final touch.

This is what I stamped, layered on silver metallic cardstock then added to the inside of the card.  It was on a clearance rack at Gina K's a while back.  The card is a shimmery surface, and I added clear EP over the top so it would not smear.

Asian ATC

This is an ATC I sent out with the theme Asian fans. The DP in the background is a paper I bought in China.  The Washi tape added with flower- also from Asia.  The Kanji stamp is from Markies Finest Paper which is now closed.

DTGD day 9- I finished!!!

Goodness, I have been stamping like a maniac and loving every minute of it!!  I have completed all of the challenges!!!  And, a day before the seadline too.  I made more cards then the DTGD challenge as well, but those are for another day!

If you have known me long, there was a time when I did stitching on every card!  It has been awhile!  I used Unity stamps and Distress Oxide inks for this card.

This card uses NO stamps, but a collection of fun items from my stamping room.  I love Graphic 45 cardstock packs, and I tried not to fussy it up too much.  The wording and piano keys are from the paperstack. The butterfly die, the flourish and the edge die are all Cheery Lynn Designs.

This little House Mouse is channeling peace on the beach- the outside world is far, far away!!!  LOL.  I also used SU stamps the birds and the trees, and the stamp over the water is a older retired SU background.  The image was colored with Copics.

This was fun and I will experiment with it more!  Especially in a smaller version for my ATC's!  The sentiment showed up on my desk- I have no idea where it is from, I will update here if it comes to my attention.

This card uses a Unity stamp set.  I have to say, I really like it!  I added some sparkle to the Copic coloring on the floral head piece and the necklace.  I used SU inks for this.

Not my best work, as I was in a hurry.... had a deadline.... but this turtle- who became a bit misshaped, was made from felt.  That is a Su stamp by the way.  If I do it again, I would do the stitching on the surface, then cut out the turtle and sew it together : )  The samples were really really adorable, so I will try this again!!!

DTGD post 8

The Splitcoast Dare To Get Dirty aka DTGD challenges are keeping me busy in my stamp room!  I am enjoying creating very much.  Here are a few more of the cards I made for the challenges.

This image is by Michael Strong Stamps.  There is a faint technique in the BG, but I am really happy with the beauty of this flower!
I am going to enter this in the Lemon Shortbread challenge- post #100!

This card uses House Mouse stamps and a stencil by MFT.  The sentiment is from a Sweet n Sassy set.
I am entering this card in the Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge. The House Mouse challenge is AG with a twist- Back to school.

This is a Stampin Up background from 2003- a real blast from the past!!! I used SU inks on glossy cardstock for the color.  I am entering this in the Retro Rubber challenge.

This Stampin Up set is from 2006.

I did this the hard way- I cut out both the background and the holographic foil with a Cheery Lynn die.....  Then, had to piece this all back together.  I did flip a couple purposely just for fun, and I am liking the way it looks.  I ran it through the Big Shot once done, to really flatten the pieces in there!

One or two more posts and it will wrap up the week!
