Sweet Stamps- Anything Goes+ New Release Stamps

 Anything Goes is the theme at Sweet Stamps for our weekly challenge this week.  The Design Team created with another *New Release*   I used a set called Jacob Fishing.

 I colored the image with Copics- and Sponged in the sky with Spots Tidal Wave and Nassau Blue.  On the sand and for the overalls, I used 'Copic texturizing' with the Copic '0' and an old towel. I added some white Signo pen lines in the water.
  I had a piece of DP - wrong color of course- I loved the pattern of swirls and text on it, so I used Sweet Stamps Swirls and Written Text to add similar accents. I added a strip of this on the inside of the card as well.
  The little fish has 3 layers, and I used the Gloss Glaze and glitter to make it a fun accent.  I learned how to make this using a Technique Junkies technique called Glazed Paper Accent. (Paper Perfection CD is where I learned that. )

Card Mania- Babies

  The challenge at Card Mania for the next two weeks is Babies.  I am Guest Designer for the summer- so for my first challenge I created this card:  

 I used a Technique Junkies technique from the latest newsletter- Gradient Sponging.  The stamps are from I Brake for Stamps from the Embossing Arts line. I used portions of the stamps by inking the image with a marker. The images were the colored with Copics. 

 The challenge is sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads.

Sweet Stamps technique Challenge- Painters Tape

For the Sweet Stamps Monthly challenge 6-15-7/14, we are creating using Painters Tape.

The Technique Junkies taught us this technique last year- we call it Faux Paint Chip. I stamped and embossed the frame first, then did the technique inside of the frame using GrassRoots, Buttercup and Reflecting Pool Shades Die Ink.  The burlap is painted with Gesso and I painted over the top with Shimmery White Smoosh. The cardstock is Coordinations, and I sanded the embossed top to see the lighter blue shade from the 'core' color.

Over the Hill.........

 We are heading to a 60th Birthday party today, and I wanted to share a card I made for my BIL. I saw the Inspirational Challenge at MFP, and thought it would be a great jump start for my card.

 I made the card 4 x 8 1/2, which fits into a business sizes envelope. My BIL is quite the gardener, so I added the flower accents from the set as well. That is a little strip of Gold Washi in the center. I added shimmer on the cake with the Sakura Gelly Roll pen.

 I added three flowers- one for past, present and future. 

 I am back up on the computer- my husband has loaded all of my programs and I will be catching up on commenting this coming week : )

Sweet Stamps- For Dad

For this weeks challenge at Sweet Stamps, I decided to try brayering with my Ink Spots- worked like a charm : )  Inspired by Michelle Zindorf, I rolled some color onto smooth white cardstock and created a serene card for the challenge.

 I grew up with the Kankakee River in my backyard- water scenes are always relaxing and soothing to me. If I close my eyes, I can hear the water flowing downstream........

Tuesday Throwdown- #198- Masculine with Fred She Said

 The cat's out of the bag!  I am officially a part of the Tuesday Throwdown crew- I post every other week on Team "B". I am thrilled and nervous at the same time!

  Our challenge this week is 'Masculine' and is Sponsored by Fred She Said.

 This sweet image is Nolan & the Bullfrog from Fred She Said. It comes precolored, which makes putting a card together a snap!  The sentiment is from a set called Uplifting Sentiments, and comes perfectly sized- I print out the entire sheet. All I had to do to complete the card was to add SU DSP, a strip of embossed cardstock and some twine and a button. I had to add some stitching to the edges too.... and added a little jewel.

My SplitcoastStampers blogging group Carriers of Faith is a group of ladies that chat and papercraft, and have another common bond- we are all Christians. We have a monthly challenge and the 9th is our posting date- so here we go : )


June Challenge: Celebrate the Men in your life

 I am hoping a side view will show off the sparkle......

Our Hostess for this Challenge is Paula.
 Challenge: I want you to create a card or gift for your father or a male figure who has been influential in your Christian life. - I made this card for my Father.

The Lord is My Shepherd;

 Tell us why you chose this person or persons and how they played a part in your walk with Christ. 
My Dad was about 3 months from vows to become a priest, and had serious doubts about this vocation, so he chose to remain a lay person, luckily for me : )  Anyway, he has a strong faith and worked really hard to pass that on to all of his 7 kids. To date, he remains a Spiritual Council for people at his Church. He spends alot of time learning and teaching others about faith and Christianity. With his limited vision (Macular Degeneration), much of his learning is done on TV and radio these days. He still tries to make daily mass with my Mother daily, and receive daily communion.
  
  Other things that come to mind when I think of my Dad- Family, Sports, Cards, Cake (he makes fabulous cakes) and Popcorn. My Dad loves to laugh and pulls jokes on people frequently.

 I made the background using a shimmery technique called Glimmer Mist Watercolors (April 2010) from the Technique Junkies newsletter. 

 The images are Stampendous. I colored the image with Copic Markers- too many to mention : ) The background uses Graphic and Yellow Glimmer Mist. The Daffodil yellow cardstock is SU, the black die is Cheery Lynn.

 I have made a card using the Faux Metal Gelato's technique:

 I took the picture at a little bit of an angle so you could see the glimmer from the Gelato's and from the Sakura Gelly Roll pen on the cake.  All images from TJ Sponsor Mark's Finest Papers.

Next, I used the Whitewash Chic technique:

 

 I colored the flowers with Prismacolor pencils- I did not do any blending at all. The butterflies are colored with Copic markers, as are the Rhinestones I added. I added shimmer with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen on the butterflies. All images are from Technique Junkies/formerly Stamp Camp.

Sweet Stamps challenge- Ribbon, Buttons/and or Bows.

It's another great challenge at Sweet Stamps .  Our challenge theme for this week is Ribbon, Buttons/and or Bows.

  My parents just celebrated my their 59th Wedding Anniversary- this is the card I made for them.
  I used a very very shimmery cardstocks from Paper Temptress for all layers. The image was embossed in Queens Gold embossing powder. The border images were also embossed and fussy cut out. The larger boarder was cut down the center (so it does not meet in the middle) to fit side to side on the background. I inked up only the border of the larger stamp.
 The ribbon is a double layer and I added a button plus a gold corded bow. I added a couple of SweetCut flowers to balance out the card- also cut out of the Paper Temptress Gold cardstock. The rhinestone was colored to match using a Copic marker.

 This is the sentiment I added to the inside of the card.
