Birthday Bear

I had to join in the challenges at Splitcoast today, and decided to make a Birthday card for my stash.

I had to ink up this fun 'Pebbles' stamp from Stampabilities.  The Distress ink is added after stamping (I cut out a mask).  I used Pinks and Reds and made an envelope to coordinate too for the Mixabilities challenge at Splitcoaststampers.  The Free4all challenge is to use circles. I tried making the Bokeh technique initially, but so many of the light pink areas were not showing the circles,  So, I took the stencil I made and added pen circles and doodling. I added a tag so I can enter the Monday House Mouse & Friends challenge.

Here is the envelope I made. I added circles in the two pinks and added doodling on the larger circles.  Sentiment is by SU.

Challenges:
House Mouse and Friends- AG optional add a tag

Love Bug

For the Bugaboo Oldie but Goodie posting today, I used a technique background called Alcohol scribble, which was the Technique from Splitcoaststampers from this past Monday.

The background is made using Alcohol inks scribbled onto a sheet, then sprayed with alcohol. I used a spray from the vet that is hand sanitizer in a spritzer.... There is a little bit of purple in there, bit it was overwhelmed by the red and pinks....  I used Brilliance Gold reinker to add a dab of gold into the mix. The digital image was cut out using a die cut called stitched circles from memory Box. The black layer was cut using the next larger die.

Challenges:
Cute Card Thursday- Valentine
DL Art- Valentine

Alcohol Scribbles

The tutorial at SCS for Monday TLC (Technique Lovers Challenge) was to try Alcohol ink scribbling.

I also made it CAS and added Gold for the CAS challenge as well. I used Copic Markers and instead of alcohol, I used some hand sanitizer the vet was giving out that was in a spray bottle. I have no idea when the last time I used the Brilliance Gold reinker, but it still was liquid....ao I dabbed a blot of that onto the surface and spread it with my finger, then dabbed the card into it.  I embossed with a seperate Gold so the two golds wouldnot compete for attention.
I used Unity stamps. The cardstock I used is a Glossy white. The colors are two pinks and a red.

Inspired by challenges again at SCS, I made a card using a wax technique for the Ways to Use it, and Free for all challenge is to use plaid.

The image is SU, stamped in black ink on Glossy White cardstock. The wax paper is embossed and ironed onto the glossy card.  Ink was sponged onto the card and in a few spots, a marker was used to add color.
The plaid DP is by Echo Park, and enamel dots were added.

Teapot Tuesday at SCS

I had a bit of time to play earlier this week and used a new to me Simon Says Stamp set for my card.  The Teapotters send cards to folks needed to be uplifted or inspired by beauty : )  This week, Diane has had a loss- her husband died in December, so she loves purple and gingham.

This Simon Says Stamp set just arrived, so I inked it up. I paired some Authentique DP in gingham and polkadots. The image is colored with Copic markers. Dianes favorite color is purple, so purple it is!

Challenges:

Paint Swiping challenge

I had a bit of time yesterday in my Craft Room....and had a try at the SCS challenge of the week- paint swiping.

I rather like the way it came out.  I used a Stamp set I bought using the Gift card I won from the Falliday Fest on SCS from Concord & 9th.
The image is colored using Copic markers.

I also whipped up a floral card using another set from my win:

I used this for the CAS challenge at SCS. An inspirational sentiment on the inside about aging gracefully : )

Bugaboo ABAC

For the ABAC (Anything But A Card) posting at Bugaboo, I made a 6x6 scrapbook page for a friend.  She just became a Grandmother : )

How sweet is this???  I used Bugaboo images Baby Moon and Baby Word  on this background, as well as letters for the name and date from diecuts (DieVersions).
I used boarders from my stash- they are from years ago, bit I love how they look!  The images are colored using COpic markers and using Wink of Stella for shimmer. The DP is DCWV.

Nature ATC's

The January ATC theme this month was Nature.  There are so many different ways I could create, but, I had some mulberry paper that caught my eye and decided to use it.

The butterfly is a Memory Box die. I cut the bottom layer with a Forest Green dark cardstock, and  the gold on the top layer is Gold Vellum.

Here are the trades:
Diane M. on the Lt with a bee themed ATC, the back is stamped on as well.
On the Rt is Harriet.

On the Lt is Linda's ATC
On the Rt is Diane S.

On the Lt is Mary
On the Rt is Marcy

My entire sheet of ATC's

The variation in the mulberry paper is shown here.

Swell Birthday

The Alphabet challenge at SCS is on "W", and I made a card using White EP, which is also the Ways to Use It challenge at Splitcoaststampers.

The background is made using Mica ink reinkers- so it is so very shimmery!  The silver (shark and sentiment) is also a Mica reinker on black bardstock.  I embossed the shark and fussy cut it out. The crown is stamped and cut out of an Alcohol Ink background scrap. This was such a fun challenge!

Dueling Darlings- January- Penguins

Terry S and LJ are the hostesses for the Dueling Darlings this month, and they have sent us kits with a theme of Penguins.  Oh, this was so fun!  I used much of the kit ....

For the Dazzlers, Terry S sent us a fun kit featuring a Penguin set from Inky Antics.  I had a blast creating and coloring and trying to be creative!
For this first card, I cut a strip from each DP 1/2" and 2 1/4" strips.  I ran cardstock through the Xyron and placed the strips across the background.  Yeah- used all of the Dp sent in the kit on the background!
Thje image was colored using Copic markers. See the end of the blog post for the deets of the kit!

I would like to enmter this in the challenge at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies challenge. I used DP cut into paper strips for the background, so would like to enter into the Crafty Hazelnut's challenge- DP

This is using a Sketch for the challenge at Try Stampin onTuesday .  I used a circle die and coloring using Copic markers.

Yep, three cards from the kit.  This one, I colored the penguin using a darker penguin..... I like the lighter colors.

Kit contents from Terry S.

Bugaboo 10th Birthday

The Birthday Bash is on day 5.  Lots of great prizes if you play!!!

If there are dog years, there must be Cow years, right???  Cows normally live 18-22 years (if not raised for food). One year of a cow = 14 human years, each year after that add 4.....  so a 4 year old cow is 26 human years......

Image was colored using Copics.  Sentiment is computer generated.

Come join us at the Bugaboo Challenge Blog- Catch the Bug- lots and lots of great prizes!!!

Bugaboo's 10th Birthday- New Release

Today, there is a New Release at Bugaboo, another fun image for the farm theme for the 10th Birthday Bash! Today we have a BINGO board for Inspiration.

Stripes- Bugaboo Image and Gems were used from the BINGO BOARD

Isn't this fun Birthday pig image adorable?  I colored using Copic markers. The background is Distress Inks in Raspberry and Worn Lipstick.  I spritzed a TCW stencil with water, laid it down on the background, pressed using a paper towl, then when the stencil was lifted, it left an impression of little swirls.  It is barely faint, so not overpowering.  I sponged Candy Apple DI around the edges of the card. The stripe DSP is by Gina K.

I hope you can join us for the 10th Birthday Bash at Catch the Bug challenge blog- there are lots and lots of fun prizes everyday!!!

Colorful and slick......

What?????  Yep, I checked in with SCS today, and the Free4all and the Ways to Use it challenges were able to be combined....one wants a very colorful card, the other wants you to stamp on slick cardstock.

This is Alcohol ink on Yupo paper, so qualifies for both challenges.  Stamps are Technique Junkies.  I needed to use Stazon to stamp, no luck with memento on this background.

Shake it, Shake it, shake it

I got a burst of energy this afternoon, and decided to check in with the SCS challenge.  They want to see shaker cards : )

I should have looked up a tutorial just to refresh myself, especially with my cold....I made this card pretty difficult, but did not have to throw it out.
I did not add the transparency sheet to the base level, I added the foam tape 1st....  So, I added the transparency on top of the foam tape, then added another layer of foam tape....why not.
I used Worn Lipstick, Raspberry and Candied Apple Distress Oxide inks on white card.  I have a 3D embossing folder of hearts.  I tapped Candied apple Distress Oxide ink onto the surface and ran the card through, then ran the card through without the folder to flatten it.  I added Raspberry ink to the folder and ran it through again.
The heart die cut is a Memory Box die. The love die is by Concord and 9th.  The sentiment is Simon Says Stamps. The DP on the die is from MME called 'Mad'.

I have to say this is one of the cards that really does look better IRL!

Challenges:
Die Cut Divas- something new- the love die and the sentiment stamp
Happy Little Stampers- AG Dies
Let's Craft and Create- Option Love is in the Air

COF- Get Well

For the January Crafters of Faith group, I am the hostess this month.  We post on the 7th of each month.

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of all compassion and God of all encouragement, who encourages us in our every affliction, so that we may be able to encourage those who are in any affliction with the encouragement with which we ourselves are encouraged by God. For as Christ’s sufferings overflow to us, so through Christ does our encouragement also overflow.” (NABRE)

Challenge: As a Christian and a nurse, January is very busy in the hospital with those who are afflicted with illnesses. Let's make a Get well card for our January challenge and send it to someone to put a smile on his/her face.

I made this at the last minute, cause I have a head cold and am sleeping alot!  I used the SCS color challenge for the card, coloring with Copic markers.  The DSP from SU is one I hoard- I have more of it and liked how it went with the color theme.

Thanks for stopping by! Stay well!

Christmas Thank You

I made a card for my hubby for a Christmas Gift.

I used a fun House Mouse stamp by Stampa Rosa. ( I just bought another just like this at Tuesday Morning (Stampendous), the image is a bit larger than this one).
The image is colored using Copics. The sentiment is by Simon Says Stamps.

I saw a challenge at SCS to make a Thank You card using an image of the gift you rec'd. Hubby bought me a new lens for my camera : )

I never dreamed that I would get the lens, I just asked for it to be funny.  It was out of the range I thought hubby would spend.  I look forward to trying to figure out HOW to use it.  I take alot of pictures of birds- I started walking and birdwatching when I was caregiving for my mom with a friend that was also a caregiver.

Challenges- TBA

Snowy and Smooth Alcohol inks!

I made this for a VSN challenge, but did not get it posted in time......

I had a background using Alcohol inks that I swiped across the page- found the technique from a Jennifer McGuire tutorial.  How fun it was to play and create!  You have to be very very careful IF you use Yupo paper and try to emboss on it, as it is plastic and melts quite easily.  The sentiment is from Newtons Nook.

We visited my son and DIl in Colorado for our family Christmas.  He is way out on the Western slope (more deserty weather), and each time we have come for Christmas, it snows here!  LOL  Usually, when it snows here it melts quickly- well....not when we visit!  WOw- the scenery is stunning covered in snow!!!

My DD2 is on the far left- she lives in Fairfax Virginia, and is studying for her Phd in environmental sciences.  Next, my DD1, she has her Masters degree in Education and teaches in Chicago- social studies.  Next, my DIL is a teacher- 3rd grade this year.  She is holding my Grandson- first Grand on either side of the family!  My son has a nursing degree- just this year- in college he studied outdoor rec, but went on for another degree.

Here is a pic with hubby and I with the three kids. The DD! on the far left and our son on the far Rt are twins : )

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you!  I hope 202 brings you many blessings!!!
