Tuesday Throwdown- Black and White

It's time for another new challenge over at Tuesday Throwdown. This week we have a fun theme for you: Black and White.  Our sponsor is: MHKDesigns

How fun are these images!  I am on a Birthday card making spree, isn't this the greatest set for guys?  I used the, You're a Classic" sentiment on the inside of this card.
The die in black is by Joy Crafts . It cuts out the oval and the decorative backing die. I added DP, twine and rhinestones.

We look forward to seeing your Black and White cards- and while you stop by, check out the work by the DT!

Thanks for stopping by!

CYS-Hearts

Hi crafty friends!  It's time for the February CYS- Challenge Your Stash challenge group over at Splitcoaststampers.  Tracie – aka taclary- challenged us to use Hearts anyway on our cards.

How fun is this sweet set from Gina K?  I just love this!  LOL  I stamped these images with Tuxedo Memento Black ink. I cut them out with the Scan N Cut. I colored with Copics. The Glimmer is added with a Spectrum Noir Sparkle Glimmer pen.
I used a heart stamp to make the background with Versamark- we used to call this watermarking.  I used a retired SU cardstock Blush Blossom for the base.

The CYS group can be located here.  List mom Barb had the brilliant idea- lets use our stash items- with a monthly theme, I am sure finding no shortage of items to use in my creative space for this challenge...!!! Even those in the 'get rid of' pile....... HERE is a link to all of the February Hearts challenge cards-the group members posted on Splitcoast for this challenge.

Something to Celebrate

I need *many* cards for family birthdays- something to celebrate!  I enjoyed creating a floral card using a new stamp from Gina K Designs.

I had fun a week ago at a Scrapbook retreat making backgrounds with Distress Oxide Inks.  I made this to put a floral image on- thinking specifically of this Gina K image. I colored with Copics and fussy cut out the image. I added some dimension by curling the leaves with a quilling pointy tool I have.  A couple of the blooms are up on dimensionals.
The sentiment is stamped and black embossed. I also stamped a Happy Birthday on the inside. I just love using the Distress Oxide inks- they blend so beautifully!

Challenges:
Stamping Sensations- Flower as center of attention
Sweet Stampin- Spring Has Sprung

31 Years and counting

Today is my 31st Wedding Anniversary!  Wahoo!  Yep!  I gave my husband a card that is all me- pink and more pink!!!

I love this sweet image- it is the Feb Progressive image from Gerda Steiner.  I made a background using Distress Oxide inks and a few drops of water. I over stamped with a Unity floral in Passion Pink. The sentiment is also Unity.

The image is colored with Copic markers. The die set I am not sure who makes it. The outside of the die is a double layer (same die).

Looking forward to 31 more years : )

Tuesday Throwdown- Sweet Treats

Happy Tuesday before Valentines Day!!!!   It's now time for another new challenge over at Tuesday Throwdown. This week we have a fun theme for you: "Sweet Treats". Our sponsor for this challenge is Sunny Studio

And, inside:

I wish the shimmer showed up better- the Cascading hearts are embossed with a shimmery EP, and I inked up a scrap of the watercolor paper with Versamark, then embossed that and cut out more shimmery hearts in three sizes.
I used two stamp sets- Sweet Shoppe and Cascading Hearts.
I also used the Fishtail Banner Dies. I had purchased those a while back and was happy to finally put them to use! I also used a tiny hearts die that came with the Fishtail banner stamps.
Cardstock- SU pink, GP white and Strathmore Watercolor paper.
Ribbon- Offray grosgrain and white yarn
Embossing Powders- Stardust by Embossing Arts and Black from Sweet Stamps.
Copic Markers for coloring.

You have a week to join us with your Sweet Treats creation!  Stop by and see the inspiration from the DT!

Love Sketch

For the Jan Sketch challenge at AOSA (About Oriental Stamp Art Yahoo Group) was a bit challenging looking, but once I jumped right in, it was really fun!

I found some Oriental themed DP that I was hoarding by Basic Grey, and it coordinated pretty well!  The lantern is a sticker from the DP set too. The image is Unity and I colored with Copics. I added heart shaped sequins for some fun bling : )

Addicted to Stamps- Have a heart

Feb. COF- Deer

For the Feb Crafters of Faith (COF) post, Liz is our Hostess. Our challenge:

scripturePsalm 42:1 As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God.
challenge: Make a masculine card with deer or a scene from a lake or forest.

This gorgeous stamp is by Sweet n Sassy (retired) that I have never inked up. I thought of it immediately when the challenge was posted.
I added colors including SU Soft Sky and Marina Mist, and Distress Oxides. I used a mask for the deer, and sponged away!  The deer was colored with Copics. I added in a tiny bit of white paint pen, no shimmer added as this is a masculine card!

The Crafters of Faith is a group on SCS. We have a challenge hostess from the group give us a challenge each month based on a scripture. It is an OPEN group, so if you would like to join us, drop Kelly a line!  Check out the other COF cards on Splitcoast HERE!

Collage ATC's

In my ATC group, the Feb. theme is collage.  I had to do lots of looking on You Tube and Pintrest to get ideas for this theme.  I finally made a 'masterboard', and cut that into smaller ATC sized pieces.
I will show the process after the ATC's.

Butterfly stamp by Unity (Gracielle Designs).

                                                          Stamps by Unity Stamps.

                                                           Stamps by Unity

                                                                  Stamps by Unity

                                                              Stamps by Unity

Here is how I made the masterboard- most of the pieces are from magazines, some of the pieces are DP.

I glued down all of the pieces with Mat Gel Medium onto a 12 x 12 piece of cardstock.
Next, paint Gesso over the top of the dried Masterboard.

Wipe over the top with a baby wipe.

I stamped a Unity stamp in Black Stazon over the dried masterboard. I could have added more paint colors over the top, but wanted to leave the back white and let the colors from the magazine pages take center stage.

I used a Unity heart script stamp and embossed it in gold. I decided to stop here and embellish the backgrounds.

Challenges:
Fashionable Stamping- AG
International Art and Soul- Texture
Pile it on- 3D embellishments
We Love to Create- Mixed Media
