Mustard Jar

I got a creative whim yesterday......and was inspired by a Sketch, so went to work trying to put together a card while away from home.

The sketch has an oriental theme- so I had one of my Mom's Japanese China Painting students write out a sentiment for me- meaning something along the line of Best Wishes. The image is a Mustard Jar (we just use mustard out of the container we buy it in....). Image is by Vee Escobar from "Art Interchange Journal " 1889). We could not figure out how to resize the copy, so just went with it as is.......
I colored with Derwent pencils, the circle is cut out from tracing around a glass, then the white I trimmed off a touch. I added Smoosh to the White circle, around the mustard colored layer and the centers of the flowers. I added score lines around the outer edges and rhinestones to finish off the card.
I am wanting to win some Oriental Stamps from Mark's Finest Papers, so keep your fingers crossed for me. MFP has a weekly Oriental Sketch challenge I will have to try to enter more often, as they are a Technique Junkies sponsor, so it would be nice to have more MFP images when creating : )
