StampAway

I just returned home from Stampaway in Cincinnati- what a Blast!!!  I took 7 classes and went to the Friday night preview party...then shopped a little bit more Saturday AM.........

I really enjoyed making a mixed media canvas............  We used napkins, embossing paste, Pan Pastels and some stamping. WE had three choices of napkins, so no one had the same outcome...... We had 2 ladies from Pa., one from Mi and one from OH plus me at my table.

This canvas was done with paint, Gesso,  a square of texturized Wallpaper....painted and then the color scraped off with a plastic card like a credt card (or a hotel key......).  I left the sentiment off for now.  Everyone in this class made the exact same project- we were able to choose different sentiments.

My favorite class was a Parchment  technique class- no pictures as no project was completed- but I will definitely be doing some in the future......

There was a TON of shopping- so many temptations- I will have fun playing with my new 'stuff'!

I got to meet Pat Huntoon IRL for the first time, and I also met Mr Holtz himself : )

I watched his glitter presentation, ask a couple of questions about the black inks and saw a presentation with the new glitter line. The glitter is very glimmery, but has no mica- it is plastic, you can ink it and it does not fly all over the place when you used it- I look forward to giving it a try.

Oh, it's good to be home- I have not slept in my own bed since last Monday night......
Thanks for stopping by!
Shelly

Shelly, these are knock outs!! Especially like the first one made with a napkin. But I bet the second one made with textured wallpaper is equally stunning!

You're so artistic, so I'm glad that you had the opportunity to attend these sessions and add to your techniques. How fun!

WOW these are awesome Shelly! Sounds like you had a great time! You'll have to come down for the Adventures in Stamping that is in Akron every April ... 10 minutes from my house!!
So glad you back safe & sound.
HUGS from OHIO!

Sounds like an awesome experience and so much fun! Love the cards you made. And to meet Tim Holtz. How cool! I don't hear about the stuff in Cincinnati. That's a shame since it would be cheaper to go there since I have relatives in the area and could stay for free. Sounds like a great time!

Both of your canvases are fabulous! Someday I'll have time to play around like this. What a treat to get to meet both Pat and Tim Holtz. I sure hope I get to meet him too at ScrapFest. I'm taking his class then.

It looks like you had a ton of fun and made wonderful projects!! I can relate to getting to sleep in your own bed, we just returned home from a vacation and the old "there's no place like home" sure does ring true doesn't it??

One of these years, I'm going to go...

Your projects look so awesome! The classes must be out of this world if they can teach YOU something!
