McMahon Five Designs 'Mother'

I could not resist this sweet image by McMahon Five Designs called Mother:

I used Prima Madeline DSP (which is 25% off now) and some Prima flowers to frame this lovely lady. She is printed on 89# Cryogen White cardstock and colored with Copic Markers.
I added Prima lace using a Zig-Zag stitch and topped that with Zva Creative Flourishes Pearls. I cut one of the flourishes in half and and used half on each side of the image. The Prima Sugar Bloom in the center is surrounded by Prima Mini Roses.
I made the bow with Antique White seam binding and added a stick pin from Tracey Brossarts Etsy store-HERE.  The wonderful sentiment is by Create with TLC

There is a new Challenge Blog- called Frilly and Funky- the first challenge is Anything goes.  I think that my Frilly Vintage Mother fits the challenge.
Digital Tuesday wants you to use a digi and your favorite colour- and mine is * Pink*
Mark's Finest Papers wants you to use Pink : )  Yep!

Creative Belli Challenge #140

Our new Belli Challenge is to create with 3 shapes.

I made a card using squares, triangles and hearts.  I thought it would be fun to make a card that is similar to a quilt- so I added a feather stitch via a Starving Artistamps stamp from a set of stitched images.
I added a bird die from a Marianne die set.

The Spirit of the Belli Challenge is to use your OLD and FORGOTTEN embellishments. I used twine and some Glimmer Mist that I need to use more- what a fun sparkly effect!

When you upload your challenge card to any gallery (Splitcoast, Outlawz, CDAC, etc....), please use keyword CBC140

We have alot of inspiration for you by the DT- and the new Belli has been announced- please check out the Creative Belli Blog for links to the DT cards and to see who the Belli and new Guest  Designer is!

We'd love to have you join us for the challenge!

Sweet Stamps- Spotlight Challenge

Spotlight or Reverse Spotlight is the theme at the Sweet Stamps Challenge blog this week.

I had so much fun with this challenge.  I wanted to use this fun Tulip Bunny image from Sweet Stamps. I stamped it with Memento Black ink and colored it with Copic markers.
Sweet Stamps has Copic Marker Sets available that coordinate and I used a few of these sets on my card- the flowers were colored with Rosy Reds, the stems were colored using Victorian Greens, the bunny was colored with Warm Shadows and the blue bow was colored using Sky Blue.
I used the Out of the Box technique where part of the image extends outside of the die. The image was also stamped on the Kraft cardstock. The white layer of the image was layered on the Kraft cardstock for the Spotlight technique.  Next, I layered the image on Bo Bunny Vicki Designer Paper.
I added a Zig Zag stitch around the edges in brown thread.
Next, I die cut and embossed the solid cardstock with the Anja Corner die cut. As a final touch, I used the Fence, Bird and Birdhouse dies from THIS set for the fence and the bird. I made the fence with a door that was a little ajar..... the white cardstock was sponged with a little Antique Linen Distress Ink so it would coordinate better with the DSP.

I hope you will join in the challenge!  Every entry qualifies you for a chance to win $20 of items from the store at  Sweet Stamps, and if you use a Sweet Stamps image- you will receive an additional chance to win! Please note- there is a limit of 10 challenges for each entry. The winner is chosen by Random.org- so everyone has a chance to win!

Weekend Workshop at Joan's Garden

I went to a workshop this weekend at Joan's Garden.  I met Darlene online and she told me about the workshop, and I thought it sounded fun PLUS I got to meet Darlene!  Fun was had by all.......!
Here is what we made:
First we put the shell of the box together, then we learned how to make the Roses on the lid.

The stamp on the side is by Just Rite. I am not sure who makes the die we used on the lid........

Project #2 we had fun with a product called Glitter Peel and Glitter Ritz Glitter.  The glitter gets burnished into the Be Creative Tape with the sticker on it, and then you can color the image with water based markers or Copics.  I used Copics for the Green and SU Pink markers- 3 different shades for the flower blooms.

So, the black is the Peel sticker and the glitter was colored in- and- you do not end up sparkling all over- the glitter stays put.......

This is the card that was designed for us to make Selma Stevenson and here is my card base:

Now you can see the details of all of the die cutting and embossing involved in the card....... On the front gatefold is yet another die we all cut.....

This is the group of ladies we crafted with.....  I am in the back row- 4th from the Right.  Debbie from my ATC group came with me- she is 4th from the Lt- and she is a collage artist- and does not really rubber stamp...and I have to say she did an excellent job!  We had to get up at 5AM to drive over to Indiana....that was the only bad part about it....long drive....

I also had the opportunity to meet Darlene from Akron Ohio- don't you just love meeting blogging friends IRL?

And, there is my friend Debbie hiding behind us- we had a great time!

I tell everyone that mentions my addiction to stamping/papercrafting that I could be an alcoholic.....- so I did get a message when I arrived home from Julie- who got up even earlier than I did..... to stay out of the bars......  LOL  Guess that means I need to keep on crafting......!  Keep on keeping on as they used to say in the day.......

Bloggers Challenge- Easter

This is my 2nd post today- McMahon Five Designs New Release is HERE

Today for Bloggers Challenge we are making Easter cards.
I used an image called He is Risen by Flourishes- which I had the pleasure of winning recently.  I colored the image with Copics and highlighted the flower center with Sakura Gelly Roll pen. The top two flowers and stems were layered and I used dimensionals to raise up the flowers.

Because I may wish to make more of these, I took a picture of the markers I used too..

McMahon Five Designs New Release 3/23/12

McMahon Five Designs New Releases are now going to be released on Fridays......

I used the Willow Sketchie sketch challenge for my card today- I used a fun image for a child's Birthday card:
I had a blast coloring this image called You're Birthday has arrived with alot of bright colors with my Copic Markers. I used a technique I saw on Pintrest to make the sentiment shape- I punched an elongated tag with the SU tag punch which is like an inch long...... then I added some Baker's Twine through the end of it.

My second card uses the Outlawz Wednesday Sketch challenge. You have to join Outlawz to join in, but there is alot there to see/check out/ join in!

Do you know any { BOYS} that love football?  I have so many Birthdays in March and I know a boy who loves Eli Manning- so this new football  image from M5D is Perfect for him it is by D'Amore Allure. The sentiment is from Create with TLC.

McMahon Five has a weekly newsletter, and it frequently has coupon codes- simply stop by the blog to sign up- HERE.
