Papers and Pixels- Sewing on Cards - What next? I am published!

I love to sew on cards, and am happy to share to encourage you to sew on cards too!  On my sidebar, there is a link to Sewing on Cards- the Basics to get you started.   What next?  Well, head on over and check out the August Papers and Pixels- they have published a tutorial on Sewing on cards-Written by ME (and thankfully edited by Laura- Thanks Laura)!   There is also info by another author on sewing digitally- which I do not have a clue about- I cannot wait to sip my tea and read it cover to cover.
I created a couple of cards with basic sewing tonight- the first uses a simple straight stitch:

The image is a digital image from McMahon Five Designs is one of a set of Sewing Sentiments. I colored the image with SU markers that matched the Paisley Petals DSP. The background is a Technique Junkies Technique called Collaged Circles.   I made the Bakers Twine with plain cord and a Copic marker- I found a tutorial HERE.
  Next, I made a card with a Zig-Zag stitch.

How fun is this image?  It is a freebie until Tuesday 8/16 at Dude Time Doodles Challenge Blog- then it will go into the store. This is Gavin the Ghost.  I used Vintage Silver Lustre cardstock to print out this image the two flourishes and the sentiment- here is a close up view:
How cool is that for your ghost cards for Halloween???  The sentiment, the swirls and the Orange paper were all made by Create by TLC.

Challenges for my cards:
Card One:
Totally Gorjuss- round and round
Fun with Shapes- Bakers Twine and punches....I used lots of punches...!
4 Crafty Chicks- Twine
Crafty Sentiments- Punches/Die Cuts
For Your Inspiration- photo inspiration- I used the colors

Card Two:
Dude Time Doodles- freebie challenge
365 Cards- Sketch
One Stitch at a Time- Anything goes
DYSU- embossing
Paper Shelter- stitching
Pink Elephant- stitching
Thanks for stopping by!

These cards are really fun - I too enjoy sewing on cards - I must do it more often!!
The 'collaged' circles make a dramatic bg for the simple sentiment.

I've been a big fan of your stitched cards forever, since you sent me some salt and pepper tech ATCs for the swap way back when. I'm glad to see that others are picking up on your talent!
